THE HIDDEN IRON-ORE TREASURES IN KABALE

Beneath the beautiful contoured hills of Kabale lie mineral resource treasures like wolfram, tin and iron ore.
The district prides itself in the huge deposits of iron ore estimated to be more than 800 million tonnes.
Iron ore deposits can vividly be seen protruding through the ground in the areas of Muko, Makanga, Hamurwa, Buhera and Kamuganguzi
Although mining of iron ore in the district is not at its peak, the locals, using simple tools have started extracting these precious stones
