Hi Catherine & Thomas, Cowboy Stew is perfect for the weather we’re having. Making my grocery list while I’m watching. This looks amazing. Cooking the meats first have always added such a good flavor level. I’ve tried just putting everything in and go. It taste different to me so I started cooking slightly any meat going into a dish for the crockpot. Headed to the store.❤️❤️. Tell everyone hi. Bailey wants you to drop something😁😎🤗.

I do something similar. we call it "camper stew" because it is good over a camp fire all day in a cast iron pot. I do not add the sausage, but we do add baby peeled carrots, and sliced mushrooms or a can of mushroom pieces to ours. Plus I do not add the cumin or chili spice to it. I use a can of whole peeled tomatoes and a can of corn and then the potatoes, carrots and mushrooms. I don't drain anything but the ground beef. it is YUMMY
