So helpful! Thank you! Would love more vids like this!..If I may make a request, a vid on how to set up the Boss GT1000 Core as a "clean pedal platform" amp , where all the drive would come from other OD/Distortion pedals like the RevivalDrive.
Great example of why a Telecaster almost always gets the job. My PRS humbuckers always benefit from sharp cuts in the lo mid 260-320 and right at 3.1. The wide boost at 4 really helps open up the voicing, in my case even keeping the cut at 3.1,which to my ears always sounds like it needs to be controlled (rebalance for lo mid cuts) but especially with darker humbuckers. I hadn't been boosting at 4k before this video and it's such an obvious step to take, guess I've been guilty of fixating on the frequencies I know gotta go. It's very handy to restore voicing when cuts over the 2.5-2.6 are necessary, depending on the eq and its curve. As always, excellent insight presented in a working environment. Stay safe and well man ✌️ 🎶 🎶
@@TheStudioRats with a linear eq my ears tell me to dynamically get the 3.1 outta the way, for several reasons. I stacked following cut with a non linear eq for the 4k boost and in general really like it, rather than just specific to the PRS. I guess my preference is to cut linearly and boost non linear, ymmv. I admire your tonal palette and am grateful for the suggestions, stay safe and well ✌️
And forgive me for going off topic with my eq thoughts. Those are eq moves I find I make frequently, itm. Nothing hard and fast but often enough to mention
You mentioned not boosting between 1 and 2khz, I find a lot of djent players boost exactly in those ranges. I'm not a djent fan myself, but have noticed that's how they get that sound.
another GREAT vid. thanks! curious. i'm not familar with the PRS pickup switch. you have it in the 'up' position. is that bridge or neck? Also, do you happen to know how your PRS would compare to a 1990 Les Paul Studio vis a vis your recommendations? TIA!
My telecaster with Texas specials always sounds the best compared to humbuckers but still would like a some rock break up tone to add like a cranked humbucker, any eq settings for that🤔
Without the EQ, the PRS is much more complex compared to the Tele. Since I am not a recording artist, I am not good at deciding what does and doesn’t work in a mix. As a stand alone instrument or in a small band setting I much prefer the original PRS sound.
Would this work for a live setting? I've got a GT1000 and never had a good tone with it. I'm 100% positive that it's not the unit, it's a great piece of gear. It's my lack of understanding. Another guitarplayer who works in the band plays on single coils. Of course, his guitar cuts through the mix perfectly well compared to my humbucker superstrat. I'll try to EQ my sound in the fashion you've mentioned here. Thx! I guess, I'll also have to use some parametric EQ after the amp and cut some low end and boost mids?
Stick with it mate as the tones are in there. It's just a steep learning curve due to the sheer amount of options and variables...Amp settings, EQ settings and block placement, Global EQ, Output Select settings, Mastering Effects block, IR's. Took me two years to get the settings right and have a killer sound for my application which is playing into an amp in a home.
And to the OP, have a look at Dave Webb Music channel, he's got some great GT-1000 content, especially his latest video on pedal ordering, he gives some useful insights into the machine.
Great demonstration on finding a problematic frequency, well done!
Thanks paul for this tutorial. I learned something new today! Keep posting man! You are a jewel to the guitar community!
Cheers Clan

Precious information for beginners like me! Thanks a lot Sir!
Very helpful! Thanks for doing this video.
I’m glad it helped Andrew.

Interesting. I’m guessing that’s to compensate for the more scooped tones to add some clarity.
@@TheStudioRats good point - I don't know a lot about EQ to be honest, just picking up what I can from other people, such as yourself.
another GREAT vid. thanks!

Great Paul..!!
If i use humbuckers at the size of single (for ex seymur duncan little59), is it ok to fix it like the way you do;
Yes absolutely.
Спасибо!
thanks
Anytime
Yep, superb
Cheers Andrew.
*This guys a shill for telecasters!*
