to make a Sundial just stick a post in the ground in the morning in a sunny clear area. The shadow will point to the west. throughout the day the shadow travels in a semi circle around the NORTHERN side of the post. when the Sun is at its high point (southern sky) the sundial should be set to the halfway noon point (pointed north) This is now your compass and clock. then take out hammer and with the 26 degree beam point the high end north and you will always have a mobile compass. combining this knowledge with the huge branches as location perspective markers will increase your travel. I cant wait for your elder fight. i convinced my friends to start a no map hard heim with me. we dont have MAX hard settings and kept portals on except during boss active

Viewer Spoiler: Bro!! You found Haldor again!! Woo! I don’t blame you at all if you were to make a new “main” base as Haldors neighbor. Later in the game when the raids get crazier, you might find his bubble as a useful shield. I feel like you were getting a better grasp of the local island layout in this episode. Awesome. 😁
I love how you start with "it's gonna be a pretty chill day" and then we have Troll fights, a Draugr fight and a little foray into the swamp, hmm I think your idea of chill is maybe a little different from mine 🤣 A perfect ending as well when you found Haldor again, fantastic episode.
This play through is by far the best 🎉 congrats on finding Haldor again. I really hope you share your map when the play through is over. It would be cool to see😊
Congrats on finding Haldor! It's nice to see you mastering the use of the branch. Next you should master mob factions and use biome borders to your advantage. Swamp things hate forest things. You could use bloodbags for higher healing potions. Always nice to see your growth. Oh and if you're worried about having to fight the elder multiple times, burn him with campfires on his spawnpoint and constantly repair them. Can't wait for the next episode.
Aha - so setting torches near flammable things (such as pine trees) is unlikely to set things alight. Good to know. I've not been playing much recently, I'm just setting up my first real base in this update and I was concerned about that. All the best Hiccup and Wanderers! Oooh, and a swamp right down the way from your little base? SO handy! One of my worlds has a little strip of swamp right near a house I made, so I can always go farm blobs, draugr and leeches. But it's really too small to spawn abominations. It's great!
Wouldn't toss too many Greydwarf eyes. You could land yourself a heap of Eyescream when you get to mountains if you have a stockpile. Not that the eyes are all that difficult to farm but if you have a stockpile from the forest moving you'll never want for them again. Also I think I've said it before but I can't wait to see the map at the end of this playthrough.

The hardest part of hardcore for me is no map... I don't even want to try :) Congrats for doing so well!
Need turnips from the swamp so you can make the spice rack, then you can make sausages.
