  • With only 3 days notice, we were told we have to leave the Philippines because of a new change to the Balikbayal tourist visa. Hopefully this video helps you if you're here on the Balikbayan visa.
    In this video I'll go over the situation and changes made. We'll also go to immigration so you can see where you need to renew your visas as a tourist here in Bohol, Philippines.

    Nice cafe but could use a few fans outdoors. Also, Panglao church area needs some major big canopy trees looks barren for an area that is really lush.

      Thanks. They do have fans but not in the area I was sitting. I could have asked them to move a fan there but didn’t want to have the wind noise while I was talking 😄

    Hello! Since your parents were in the Philippines for awhile (3-5yrs?), were there any issues with using the OHIP coverage when they got back in Ontario Canada? Did they need to apply for a new OHIP card when they arrived in Ontario Canada? Or they had OHIP coverage right away when they arrived in Ontario Canada? Thanks!

    Common logical sense would dictate that the fair and ethical way for the administration to have handled the new immigration law policy change was to grandfather in the balikbayan visa holders who were admitted under the old immigration balikbayan law, allowing them the 1 year balikbayan visa, plus the 3 additional years of tourist visa status, before having to leave the Philippines for at least a 24 hour period. The implementation of the 1 year balikbayan visa, plus a 2 year tourist visa status, before having to leave the Philippines could have been enacted for all new balikbayan entrants as per the date set forth for initiation, rather than lumping previous balikbayan holders in with the newly approved balikbayan holders with the new immigration law. Oh, well, we are at the mercy of governmental policies and laws. Your parents and you appeared to handled the situation calmly and well, which is important in those type of circumstances. Still a very pleasant island life day for you. Be well.

    • @BoholisAwesome
      @BoholisAwesome  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah. That would have been a logical and fair way to do it. But oh well. Hopefully this video can help someone that is in the same situation. Thanks for watching!

    Hi there,
    I’m currently in the process of getting my Filipino citizenship back to become dual UK/PH. But my wife and kids are British so they will follow the new tourist rules that you described very well. Thank you for the information and I hope that your parents enjoy their enforced vacation.
    Since we live in the UK, I don’t think that we’ll ever exceed the one year of free visa since we’ll only go to Philippines for vacations. We’re at South Palms for a week in April next year, so maybe you can teach me volleyball? Take care buddy!

    • @BoholisAwesome
      @BoholisAwesome  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      After your Balikbayan is finished you need to go to an immigration office to extend on a tourist visa. Depending where you’re from, you just go in to pay and renew. No need to apply.

      @BoholisAwesome  ปีที่แล้ว

      Correct. If you arrive on a regular tourist visa, that is still the same. But if you arrive in Balikbayan visa, then you only get 2 years after your Balikbayan year is up.
