Thanks for the tips. Indeed erythromycin binds to 50s subunit. I agree with you it might be little bit confusing in the video but in the real life it is even more sophisticated and more difficult to distinguish between the binding sites the two subunits.

30S and 50S are indicators of how these subunits react to electrophoresis, if I remember correctly, and so is the 70S when the two subunits are united together.. 70S is not a sum of the 30S and 50S.. the three numbers only represent how the three entities react to physical force..

Why is it called 70s and not 80s??
