Agreed! They're in their 20th year of being in that location with only one other Riu property that's precedes them. We will monitor the changes and share same. Thanks for your feedback and thanks for watching!
We stopped at Tropical Bay last November and had a venture down to Negril. We preferred the pools at the Negril but Riu seems to prefer the generic style pools at all their properties these days. Will be interesting seeing the end result. One question is what happens to the staff when these refurbs are taking place? On a side note we’re back in Negril in 8 weeks time stopping at the Azul Hotel. Love the beach, scenery and the fantastic warm and friendly people.
So glad they are doing renovations, one reason why I avoided this hotel because the rooms are so outdated. I hope they copy the new Aquarelle in Falmouth design colors and install elevators. Uniquely and fun designed pools would be a great. I look forward to having my mind changed from the Royalton Negril as I am looking to book July 2025. Thanks for the update!
Thank you for this feedback! Really means alot knowing our videos are being appreciated for what they are. Hope you will one day decide to join the family 🙂. We will be doing future updates so stay tuned for said updates. Thanks for watching!
Well needed repairs. I stayed there in June 2023 and was very disappointed. The rooms and furnitures were run down. Even the bed linens were disgusting. I did enjoy the food.
Guessing other guests had similar experiences and possibly stated same. They've been operating for 20 years, which probably adds to some of the items listed being in the conditions described. Quick question though, how often should a Resort/Hotel change/upgrade their furnitures and overall décor?
@DronesEyeView that's a good question 🤔 How often should resort upgrade their furniture. Certainly not as long as this resort took to upgrade their furniture I would say, upgrade based on trending furnitures, and conditions of the furnitures.
This has been by far the best update on the renovation works! We return in January for the sixth time and cannot wait!

So excited to see the final look 🙌🏽
Keep your eyes peeled as we will most certainly revisit to monitor and showcase the changes.
I heard about these renos a Riu. Thanks for sharing. Some extensive work but the Riu team don't joke when it comes to delivery timing.
You're most welcome and thanks for watching sir! Yes, one thing's for sure, when they set a timeline, it is usually met with results.
Thanks for sharing this video... Amazing work
Most appreciated! Thank you so much for watching!
I was there last month, can't wait to go back when its completed
That's awesome! Hope the experience next time will be as enhanced as promised 🙂
Loved it at the RUI.

Last time we holidayed at the hotel is when hurricane berly hit we are hopefully going back next year for the eight time from the UK
We were there in April 2024, already booked to come back March 2025. Can't wait to see the changes in person! We love Jamaica!
That's awesome! Thanks for watching
@@DronesEyeView Will you have another video of the progress?
Most certainly! Will be available very soon! 😉

Ok. Interesting viewpoint.
When will renovations be finished?
Proposed date is December 6, 2024.
what about parking? dem nah fix dat?
Guarantee they ruin it with boring square pools like they did Riu Montego Bay
That would be most unfortunate. Pattern pools do stand out, especially when viewed from above.
