I lived in Maui and would see Laird out in the lineup on occasion. Mainly on his SUP, but occasionally on the bigger days he’d be surfing. Was like Moses parted the Red Sea and everyone would give him credo and he’d paddle in non chalant and grab waves. He truly is a good surfer no doubt. I saw him and Gabby enjoying dinner one night in Paia town, and this after I was addicted to beach volleyball. I wish and still wish I would have said hello and asked her to come down to Kanaha and play Vball with me and the crew. Would have loved to play with Gabby and get my butt kicked! Circa 2007 or 08.
Laird was married and had a baby at the time Gabby interviewed him. *8 days later he left his wife & baby. Then down the road Laird was being interviewed by a woman & had an affair with that woman while married to Gabby. yep they left this part out.
