hi, great review. I want to ask if you would recommend SC305 just for audiophile listening (baroque, classic, opera, jazz, world music, but some rock too) in small room (3,6/4,5m) and short listening distance (1,5-2m) ? What about some other monitors - Neumann KH80 (with sub with DSP and room measurement it looks very good, but twice expensive), KH120A ... What about self noise ? Are SC305 quiet or is some hiss there ?
Sorry for the delay, I though I replied to this comment and I didn't. I do recommend the 305 for audiophile listening, for sure. I haven't heard the KH80, but I had the 120 and still prefer the Eves for music listening, they are far more enjoyable.
Just 3 points... No TRS Input on the back, DSP a little weird and most of all no front Bass Ports...No good to put against a wall, to bad, but they sound cool.... I went on Adam A77x. They have bass ports on the front...:)
Hello Lucas Junior Studios, many thanks for commenting, we appreciate you liked the sound. We have not implemented a TRS input (just as the speaker you went for) but there are plenty of adapters available on the market (TRS - XLR). About your concern with the bass ports on the back of the monitor: It does not matter if bass ports are in the front or on the backside, the effect is identical if you place the speakers against or close to a wall. The bass port in the EVE Audio SC305 works in a frequency range where the wave length is around 7 m long - positioning of a bass reflex port in a 25 cm deep speaker does not make any difference at all.
The SC305 is well explained, thank you very much for the video!
thank you!
Which is best for music listening SC305 OR SC2070..?
