    Imagine taking a swim and that pops up a few inches from your face. I can imagine the terror felt by the first human being who encountered the very first monster crocodile while swimming...and got eaten.

      Let me know if you'd like to share study info/current happenings about them. I've always studied them as a kid. One of the big questions I have is which species is more dangerous, the nile or salties. I also a lover of water, seas, waterfalls etc. I'm not fond of rivers. Lately I'm hesitant to swim at the beaches. I think the crocs here in jamaica are expanding their territory. It's worrying.

      @@kenneithsubratie6019 Me aswell, i am fascinated by them and all animals in general, but the predators really interest me. Reptiles and Invertebrates are probably my two favourites. I was thinking about this the other day, Nile and Salties. It suprises me that Salties get bigger as the Nile crocodiles have much more access to Larger prey? Salties have large prey too like Cattle, feral pigs and other mammals but at watering points the Nile crocodiles have Zebra, Gazelle, Buffalos all drinking or migrating yearly through Rivers that is like a buffet for the crocs

      In South America when a frail native tribe senior wants to reel him in alone he has two much safer no stress options. The bait and the strapping (usually heavy lure or sticky flat rope) are used to either keep the reptile alive and move him or drown him instantly. Either way the 'lasso' and the trees do most of the work. Tie a knot around one tree while a second tree acts as a sleave. Keep tension to let the reptile exhaust itself first while you sit and eat a fruit. Some food\material combinations keep his mouth open so he drowns others he bites down firmly spinning into a tight sticky knot almost that he can't get out of. A stick was only used to keep it far enough in the water to drag him effortlessly.

But its sad when I take my kids home to show, view & take a picture of them. And the big boys are no longer there. If there PROTECTED. Why are there station owners , managers & stockmen. Still pointing full metal jackets and hollow points at them.... Stations around the top end of Australia. QLD, NT, WA. Give or take each year. Make millions. So why the don't they help the problem instead of shooting it.

Western african and south african Nile crocs will never get up to 20 feet. • @miridian2012
      @miridian2012 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Lactic acid buildup essentially turns the Crocs blood acidic, which causes damage to various internal systems and for a reptile is usually fatal. Here's a link to a similar condition in humans: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acidosis
