That's fair, Both are definitely good lanterns, but with Nitecore discontinuing that product I would say this is a decent alternative if you do not want to wait for them to release another lantern, assuming they do.
@@lae212I’ve got Sofirn LT1S, because it’s much cheaper and it has more features that I personally find useful for myself at this time. Very satisfied.
Does this lantern operate normally with a standard 21700 battery, without the overload protection circuit? Does it charge normally? I use Samsung 40T batteries in all my devices requiring a 21700 cell. I understand Fenix doesn't want the liability of leaving an unprotected 21700 in the hands of the general public, but the Fenix protected 21700 cell that comes installed is virtually unfindable, and isn't correctly priced anyway. Thank you for the review...
We would only recommend the protected battery as that is what is tested for the lamp, however, I personally would imagine it would work just the same, but again, we have not tested that claim.
No IT IS NOT THE BEST LANTERN FROM FENIX. I have one. I like it, but I cannot stand they branded their name right on the white portion of the lantern and try turning it on with one hand, not too easy as it you have turn the dial. Much harder than a push button. Again, I like it, but was disappointed. Bad design choices in my sense.
Great compact product...a hundred and one uses
Sick video, thanks man - this is super useful.
I'll wait for the CL30R PRO.
Very informative and detailed review. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
@@LonghornTactical It was in large part due to your review that I ended up ordering two of them this weekend.
I like your enthusiasm
Would’ve been nice to show the battery removal but otherwise, pretty thorough review. Thanks!
Ordered mine today.
Nice design 👏🏾👏🏾 love the power/mode switch interface. Love the down light. Would it make me give up the 10000mah of my LR60? Probably not 🤔

@@LonghornTactical agreed 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Good information in the video.
Hope they update the CL30R version to "Pro" too…
I wish it had a way to change the light color from bright white to a warm light.
Can you power this lantern with powerbank without battery inserted ?
Unfortunately no!
Fenix CL26R Pro vs Sofirn LT1S Pro, which one would you choose?
Did you get either ?
@@lae212I’ve got Sofirn LT1S, because it’s much cheaper and it has more features that I personally find useful for myself at this time. Very satisfied.
I choose CL26R PRO
Fenix has a better circuit design, and better quality components and plastics. It cost the double for a reason...
I like this lantern, but dont want another battery type, prefer to stick with the 18650....
Этот фонарь может работать на 18650, очень мало кто говорит об этом в обзорах. Но 18650 должен быть с выпуклым плюсовым контактом.
Love Fenix ❤️❤️❤️❤️
We do too!
Any info about CRI?

Do you know if they already released a lamp with a 2700k/3000k mode?
No, it seems it's still the same color temp for now!
Is the COB light white or is it yellow-ish?
White!
@@LonghornTactical where can I access the 4000K light?
Hi, is there any camping light better than this?
Well that depends on your definition of better, but another popular lantern would be the Nitecore LR70
@LonghornTactical all the specs seems like fenix is a better camping light haha
Amazing!! 👍🏻
Glad you like it!
Nice review but I thought this light is 650 lumens?
In total, you are right! Combining the highest down output with the highest lantern mode will achieve 650 lumens of brightness.
Unfortunately Fenix look so cheap..😢but they are good quality overall
Bit useless as a battery bank if it’s not usbc out.
