2020 Firestone Walker Cherry Barrel Blossom - A Porter Aged in Bourbon and Cherry Bitter Barrels?

Firestone Walker doesn't have distribution in Michigan - the closest you can go is Indiana, if you're interested in picking up their beer. Thankfully Tavour exists and I was able to get a bottle of their Cherry Barrel Blossom from 2020, an imperial porter aged in bourbon and cherry bitter barrels with sea salt. What? Cherry bitter barrels? Never tried that before - so it must be a good candidate for the Cellar Dive!

BOX BEER ---- oooooh--- Not to confused with BOX wine. LOL- I finally got to try their Parabola last year for the first time. Excellent beer, but I do think it is brewed to age. Hope to crack another now that a year has passed. Also enjoyed the Parabolita which is a Salted Caramel-style Stout. Nice review. Cheers !!!

Firestone Walker is one of my favorite breweries for barrel aged beer. Their Sucaba barleywine and Anniversary series are always outstanding. I "collect" Parabola and I enjoy its subtle changes from year to year. I also live in CA, which greatly improves my access to Firestone vs when I lived in New England.

Sounds delicious. I can’t find FW in Toledo. Many years ago I had Union Jack (their back in the day flagship beer??) on draft in NJ on a business trip. I had read so much about the brewery and that beer. It was good as I remember. Yes! The box makes it seem very regal, indeed! 😂 Enjoying the Cellar Dive series. Happy Friday!
