  • Kosovo, you did surprise us!
For such a small city in such a small country, there was so much to see and do! For our last day in Prizren, Paige and I decided to head to a Monastery that we found in a discussion board online. It seemed to be a straight shot along the river for nearly 2 miles. 0:51
At some point in the journey, it appeared that we had taken a wrong turn and began to wind up a mountain. We got lost, and special thanks goes to Nick Fisher for the inspiration for the comic effect to show how long of a journey this was! After nearly 4 miles of hiking, we ended up back at the fortress in Prizren which you saw in the last video! 4:07
Our exhaustion lead us to a restaurant called “Panorama” where we had a coffee and got some lunch. We were too hungry to take any “before” videos, so all you get to see were our empty plates! 7:43
We used the wifi at the restaurant and found better directions to the Monastery. We continued onward up the road about another mile and ended up at a series of locked doors which almost made us give up. 8:36
Suddenly then, we saw a monk walking down the road toward us, which invigorated us to give it one more try and we continued onward and finally found an entrance to the Holy Archangels Monastery! The monk was very kind and offered us tea before we set out on the journey back to Prizren. 9:48
Once back in Prizren, we watched the sunset over Prizren’s iconic bridge and then had some dinner at Gatsby’s in the center of town! 13:44
When we decided to take a month to travel, there were few options for Americans due to the current health situation. Kosovo was one of those options, and as my research continued, I stumbled upon Prizren on nearly every list of places to see in Kosovo as a highlight of the country, because of its charm.
This is part eleven in a series that started with flying from London, so if you missed part one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine or ten, be sure to check them out! And as always, thank you for watching!!!

The Monastery of the Holy Archangels is the endowment of the Serbian Emperor Dušan the Strong, It was built in the period from 1343 to 1352 , as the tomb church of Emperor Dušan and is believed to have represented the pinnacle of Serbian sacral architecture.

All these monastiries you visited in Kosovo are Serbian Orthodox. A few were destroyed by Albanians.

@@MrNonrev you simply visited a serbian monastery. It is a fact. Kosovo is a land of our kings and tsars, monasteries inside kosovo were built between 11th and 14th century. Kosovo is a sacred land with special place in our heart. In the 14th century serbian empire was one of the most powerful at the time. Learn history.

Нека буде воља Божија, како на небу тако и на земљи. Хлеб наш насушни Боже дај нам данас и опрости нам дугове наше као што и ми опраштамо дужницима својим, и не уведи нас у искушење, но избави нас од злога! Амин!

Welcome to Kosovo and Metochia. Kosovo and Metochia belongs to the albanian and serbian people who lives there.
I am from Serbia, i do not want to make hate between Serbs and Albanians but just want to send mesage to Albanians.
You must understand us, we can not recognise Kosovo as state, simple, Kosovo is base of our history, base of existence of modern and old serbian state.
We can and we should live in peace, i belive in that, but Serbia simple can not recognise Kosovo as state.
We can find other solution, solution whith wich was satisfied both sides.
