Good dad and son series. Lost my dad in 2020 and it is these type of things you are glad to have under your belt when you look back.

5:41 this car has a Timing Belt. That is a 2.0L 4G94 SOHC 16 Valve. Is an interference engine, if the belt breaks it will bend the head valves. Mitsubishi started to use timing chains on the 2008 Lancer that came with the 4B11.

Ahhh, let Tyler live! He's more responsible and consistent than many young men his age! My girlfriend's 16yr old son went and got his eyebrows threaded while she mowed the grass, with a hurt shoulder! Tyler's worth his weight in gold, and has a great example in you, Papa! Love the content and the growing fandom! Keep it up, Boys!!

Loving what you guys are doing. I love my Lancers in Australia. I actually have owned 28 Mitsubishi cars since 1978. A few of them travelled over 430,000Kms. The motors are just great. In Australia Mitsubishi used to be always in the top 3 sellers of car brands. Now days since the factory closed it slowed for a while but still is in the top 5. I think I mentioned in my last comment on your second video, if parts are hard to find there check out Mitsispares in Australia .

I saw a 2010 Lancer Evo with 67k miles for around 32k on Carvana yesterday. The engine bay on this one looks like a new car. Even the top of the strut towers look good and rust free. Mobil 1 ESP is supposed to be their best oil. It's their Euro oil but can be used in just about all gas engines since one of the specs is SP.

I've got the same car 2006 year (1.6 Estate version), been running ok for 10yrs, just the normal wear and tear parts replacement. This year failed the UK Lambda emission test, don't do any heavy driving so think it needs an "Italian Tune-up" to clear the catalytic converter. First car I've owned that has a closed loop engine management system, learnt alot in the last few weeks with the help of an OBD2 unit. Watch out for the Radiator Support Frame, the A/C condencer sits above the cross member , dripping condensate rust out the cross member over time. Had to do a weld job on mine to strengthen where severe rust had weakend it.

Does a 2006 Lancer have a timing belt?
Your Lancer uses a timing belt which is made from a rubber compound and drives the camshaft. This makes for a cheaper engine to build and potentially quieter running, but it also means that the belt has to be changed periodically to prevent it snapping in service.

What exactly is the duct cleaner? I worked as a Toyota tech before and I'd see rodents and crap all the time in cabin air filters. Once thing I'll say is NEVER spray anything like lysol down in the vents. It'll dry out in the vents/dash the wrong way and your car will smell like puke with the heat on, I've seen it happen before. Some cars have a ac drain line under the car, if this has one I'd recomend doing a ac refresh. Theres two cans one goes in the line under the car the other in the duct at the bottom of the windshield
