People have really no idea just how much goes into making these Kaiju films. Toho's dedication is unsurpassed when it comes to the little details. Which is what makes these films perfection once they are completed. Brutal for the suit actors portraying the monsters but so rewarding when it's finished. And that's why they are the best in the world at it. We Americans can try to duplicate it easier all we want with modern CGI. But nothing will beat the intricate models and suit acting in my humble opinion.
I'm very thankful for this upload. GxMG is my most favorite movie. Seeing Masaaki Tezuka and the crew at work makes me very happy. I hope Toho will go back to this classic art of filmmaking. It looks absolutely great.

This was suggested and, well, now i'm piecing together why the Japanese made such a great movie. Their movie culture is creative. It's thoughtful. It's detailed. It's made with purpose. Toho showed us that good movies can still be made today. That America has gotten lazy with their cookie-cutter movie punch outs. Throw a bunch of money at it, advertise the heck out of it, and people will go see it in troves. I guess it works? But nobody is putting Godzilla X Kong on their shelf at home proudly. It's forgettable cinema. Toho pieced together quite possibly the best Godzilla movie I've ever seen. It was done with respect to the Godzilla franchise and didn't settle for B acting. Turns out you can have both great action and great acting in the same movie. Who would have thought? Hollywood doesn't appear to believe in that sort of movie anymore. I like to believe Takashi Yamazaki told his recruiters "only the best. That's what we are doing here." Nothing short of greatness. Hollywood, you need to get your act together and start making quality movies again.

When I first saw this movie this was the first time I had ever heard of D.N.A. computers I thought it was just something that was made up for this film till I looked it up online that D.N.A. computers are real and really expensive too.

Ya know what would have been funny with that scene with that baseball player and those kids was when he hit the ball and it happened to hit Kiryu and the pilots managed to hear the bang the ball made against said robots armor asking 'What the Heck was that' now that would have been funny.

I remember the first time I saw a behind the scenes special on Godzilla was from Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah and one thing has always bugged me about those suits the Godzilla suit in particular and that is how the heck is the actor able to see in that thing does the suits have like small holes in the neck for the actor to see or does he wear like a headset to hear what's going on with the directors I sure would like to know.
An amazing doc! Kiryu is my Spirit Kaiju (I know, technically a mech but...) This was fascinating to watch! I was already gonna sub due to the material, then I saw the channel name. Instant sub!

I honestly wish Godzilla Movies would just stick to the classic Tokusatsu style. I felt like we lost a lot of what made these movies great in The CGI phase of movies. Shin looks alright but I would have much preferred the actual suit, animatronics, and practical effects. It just looks and feels more like a Godzilla movie when you stick with the basics.
My guy godzilla is a versatile character who works REGARDLESS of how he's brought to life, you didn't "loose" anything simply because he's cgi or animated or both
@@ryanginyu eh...not necessarily when suits and cgi both look equally realistic when done right same way cgi and suits both look fake when done improperly.
The amount of work that goes into making these movies is astounding. The details in the city alone is amazing. I hope this art form is never lost.

Just an amazing process of movie making no GCI just talent people who love their craft.
The only cg use is close up of kiryu jet legs close up and flight but still I give the Japanese good with their practical effects

Brother there is a see though net by Godzilla's neck, they have it painted on with textures so its not that visible
But for sure it's not big. I bet that it's only a 2 small holes
