The singing was WONDERFUL, of course! But what a fabulous bit of videography, with fantastic sound. Wish all of our BBS shows sounded and looked like that!!
Cold. icy. chills. down. spine. WOWWWWW. Singing this with Bach Society of St Louis in a few weeks for our Christmas concert...hope we can steal a little bit of this awesomeness. (chills again)
As someone who dislikes most christmas carols, What Child is This was always one of my favorites. When it's performed a capella, you really can't go wrong. That said, this was exactly what I wanted to listen to today. I really can't imagine much of a way this could've been improved.
okay....I've just listened to this 4 times in a row (back-to-back). I've loved VS's sound for a while now, but this is just a new level! I've been singing Barbershop music for 28 years and haven't found many blends of perfection like this..... Best! Tag! Ever!!!
Watching this for the 5th time still gives me chills. I thought BarbeeAnne was exaggerating with the "angels" comment, but she really isn't. I wish I could have seen this live... damn not living in the states!
Well said, 12B4. What really gets me about Vocal Spectrum is that they continue to grow and improve with no end in sight. Most champ quartets plateau when or shortly after they win gold. Not Vocal Spectrum. They've improved exponentially since 2006 and will continue to do so until their sound is quite nearly inhuman.
Schab - No doubt. VS is it. I will affirm your point a little deeper. There is no 4 part group that compares to Vocal Spectrum. Ok its not about comparisons. Just a fact. Few quartets through the years set the stage for this level of perfection - and to their credit - without the predecessors it is possible VS would not have happened in this time. Namely - Dealer's Choice and Acoustix. Vocal Spectrum is a super rare gathering of talent/harmonic knowledge/determination whose time is here.
Anyone know where I can get the sheet music for this particular arrangement? I've found different versions of 'What Child Is This' but not this one... who arranged it? It's stunning
Randell Palmer I've heard Rhett sing in real life. He has no reason to lip sync when he can hit all the notes. I've heard Vocal Spectrum sing in person. I know how good they are. I do know what good music is. I sing barbershop
King Steveo I 100% respect what Rhett does, but there are better multi-track singers than him. For example, SaberTracks' version of this is much better that Rhett's version.
Don't you guys ever DARE break up!! You are far too good!!
This is one of my absolute favorite tags. Don’t need to be religious to recognize how moving this performance is!
The penultimate chord is beyond words.
Good baritone on right, what an ear.
they are the best ever.

The first verse and chorus is very satisfying. They take chances harmonically and it pays off very well.
In my opinion, the best piece I've heard these juggernauts sing. Unbelievable!
Great lead singer and blend.
God I love this so much. There's just something about the lead. There's just something about all of them
Eric Dalbey is arguably one of the top 3 best leads ever for sure
Tremendous resolution! Perfect harmony
I think we all eagerly await Vocal Spectrum's Christmas album...
This will forever be my favorite song/performance of Vocal Spectrum. (':
The ending gives me goosebumps! Beautiful
Four singing as one. A fine example. You guys nailed it.

I love this arrangement, and I think Eric really shines.
Still goosebumps, Fantastic group 👌
Eric so smooth.
You guys are crazy-awesome....I cry over this.....seriously!!!
OMG in tears here!! That ending.
I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW HE CAN GET HIS VOICE SO LOW ITS INSANE
Brianna Hecke I think it's probably cause he trains it and his body size combined all with some luck.
I could listen to that one chord on "peasant" at 1:22 forever. The dissonance between Tim and Jonny is perfect.
Beautiful
Eric Dalbey has such a great, smooth lead voice!! I wish I could have that great of a tone when I sang... : (
WOW! Amazing! the Tag phenomenal and the overtone on the end is epic!
this is so pure. excellent.

To be honest, you probably enjoyed because the tune isn't a carol; it's Greensleeves with changed words. :)
@@Anonymous-sx5tc and different notes
that last note...
okay....I've just listened to this 4 times in a row (back-to-back). I've loved VS's sound for a while now, but this is just a new level! I've been singing Barbershop music for 28 years and haven't found many blends of perfection like this..... Best! Tag! Ever!!!
This makes me melt with joy every time I hear it.
Amazing guys!
Let's see...the chord at 1:56 and the GORGEOUS overtones. Can I listen to this forever and be happy????
Amazing. I was at the show last year but not this year. I am so glad you posted this!
Amazing voice! I really like this pice!
Simply amazing.
Absolutely Stunning!!
Watching this for the 5th time still gives me chills. I thought BarbeeAnne was exaggerating with the "angels" comment, but she really isn't.
I wish I could have seen this live... damn not living in the states!
Wow, this is gorgeous;)
I think VS have to be the best current champions still singing together. Can't imagine hearing much better than this right now!!
The end ring came out better in the other vid, but the balance seemed to be far better in this one. You guys are as amazing as BBS champs should be.
You got it boss.
Her dinlediğimde göz yaşlarımı tutamadığım efsane çalışma
I know how you feel
Ben nasıl hissettiğini biliyorum
Holy crap what a tag!!!
Awesome!!! Killer arrangement... I don't think anyone would complain if Gary arranged more often.
well done sirs
I love the tag
how a strong basic. Covers everything. Fond of Bass.. Congrats
Oh my god.
👍👍👍😙😙😙❤❤❤
@davethe10r yes, that is very true

@gordonice If you are talking about Gary Lewis, then I'm super super pumped!!!! He's our new director! I love this arrangement.
Really? It's a fraction of a second... The chord at "Christ" at 1:57 gets me moist lol
i talked to tim waurick they are working on a christmas album
1:30 to the end, good lord
@wRadion Wow... did it take you 146 years to figure that out? What Child is This was set to the tune of the 14th century English folk tune in 1865.
Jew boys got some golden pipes!
ironically none of the guys in Vocal Spectrum are Jewish
does anyone know where i can get the music
Anyone know where I can get the sheet music for this particular arrangement? I've found different versions of 'What Child Is This' but not this one... who arranged it? It's stunning
I know I'm three years late, but I believe this is Gary Lewis' arrangement
where could i get this arrangment
i cant find the sheet music for this i need help
aferin
Bravissimo! Both for the performance and arrangement... I would like to know who the arranger is.
Gary Lewis is the arranger :)
Thank you ;-)
@VSTenor: i didn't mean it like that -.- Sorry.
yeah, that's good. I prefer the one I said originally though
is this contestable?
yakışıklı iyi söylüyo
Purrdy.
Good except voice crack at 1:58 ;) (idk if it even counts as a crack, was a long note anyway)
it is live :)
ik ;)
Anonymous Person I didn’t even notice until you mentioned it.
Mathew James ;)
Y'all should listen to Rhett Roberts. He is the BEST!
No, Rhett is probably lip syncing like almost all things the original kicks but, these guys are way better you have no idea what music is.
Randell Palmer I've heard Rhett sing in real life. He has no reason to lip sync when he can hit all the notes. I've heard Vocal Spectrum sing in person. I know how good they are. I do know what good music is. I sing barbershop

+Grant Allen I've heard it and it's alright to me.
+Robin Smith I already know about the awesomeness of Sam Robson! I love his voice and arrangements!
