Just thought guys, how about checking out The Beautiful South, a British group started in Hull, UK. They formed after The Housemartins split as the lead singer was Paul Heaton alongside Dave Hemingway too though Heaton duets with Jacqueline Abbot now but in The Beautiful South it was originally with Briana Corrigan for 1st 3 albums, then Jacqui for albums 4-7 and finally Alison Wheeler for their final 3 albums! They have a wonderful sound and their songs are often story based too so hope you get to check them out. I won't specify any of their songs as they are all great! I love them still ❤

I was going to post a LONG diatribe about this topic on their "We are the World" reaction. Nearly all the people in that song are over 35 or 40+. Like someone said: "I'm not taking advice on matters of the heart from some teenager with NO experience or miles on their clock!" Sometime during the late 90's or so, this whole "Aging Out" crap started & the music industry has SUCKED ever since. Just look at todays Pop chart #'s nobody is over the age of 25 or 30yrs old. Songs sound better & have more meaning when they're written by someone with years of real life experience, rather than some teeny-bobber with a "summer crush." The Music industry is trash & TRASH is all it produces.

I saw Lisa in concert last year playing with Simply Red and she's still got it!!
Stansfield is as good live as in studio. Be sure to check her out live with George Michael singing These Are The Days of Our Lives" at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert. Alternatively, she did a solo of I've Got To Break Free at the same concert.
I had the great privilege of seeing Lisa live in 2019 and man she's still got it, her voice was as wonderful as ever.

I didn't really pay much attention to her back in the day, but I remember that voice of hers. She sounds amazing.

Lisa is incredible! Everything I’ve heard her sing is great. Another great, soulful English vocalist you should check out is Alison Moyet. Her song “Invisible” is one of my all-time faves.
Lisa Stanfield has a similar sound as Taylor Dayne (don't know if that's how you spell her name), both are great ♥️🙏✝️✌️😎
