  • Michelle! Corleone!
This is one of the first episodes of Francis Ford Coppola’s famous film, The Godfather, which was shot in Sicily. In Truth, Coppola made this name up, as this is not Corleone, this is Motta Camastra
The next episode of The Godfather in Sicily was filmed in this town, Forza d’Agro. Behind me, you can see the Cathedral of St. Mary. Just like in the movie. In a similar way, in the first part of the movie, Michael Corleone and his guards entered Vitellis Bar. Michael Corleone and his guards were sitting at this exact table. Some of the most important, key moments of the entire trilogy were filmed in the famous ‘Slave Castle. It was also the palace where Michael resided when he was in hiding in Sicily. We were lucky enough to meet the owner of the castle, Baron Franco Platania.
The Baron kindly allowed us to film the interior of the Castle. He also told us about making of the film, which took place in his presence when he was only 28 years old. The also showed us the locations of all the mise-en-scenes. He also allowed us to fly and film with out drone.
This is the castle where Michael Corleone hid in Sicily after he killed Sollozzo and McCluskey.
This is where the car pulled out when he was on his way to his engagement party with Apollonia.
Next, the wedding precession travelled down from the church into town. Another famous angle in Savoca. This well was built specifically for the shooting of the film, its actually a ‘film well as it is not real. It was this balcony that Michael Corleone was looking out of when he was preparing to leave this hospitable house with Apollonia, as it was no longer safe. This is the place where the car, with Apollonia in it, was parked. Vitos mother and him walked through these gates, when she was on her way to ask Don Chicho not to kill her only son. Vito Andolini is smuggled out of town on a donkey. Vito Corleone and his family arrive home by train to the Corleone station. However, this is once again a trick by Coppola, as this is a now abandoned station of Staragogna, and Corleone has no railways at all. For a long time, this villa was abandoned. The new owner, who we just met, have kindly allowed us to film a few scenes here.It was on this terrace that Vito Corleone kills Don Chichio, who is sitting around here, thus avenging the deaths of his mother, father, and older brother. Gradually, the villa is being restored, and repairs are underway. The grounds are being tidied up, the trees have been trimmed, and we hope soon it will look no worse than the Barons villa. Another scene was filmed outside St. Mary’s cathedral in the second part of The Godfather.
Unfortunately, we can’t recreate the same extras that were on the scene, apparently some sort of
celebration was filmed here. Vito was holding little Michael in his arms, there were the priests standing next to him, some people with brooms. But yeah, we have what we have, so you have to look at me instead.Exactly on this road a cavalcade of cars travelled down with Michael Corleone, who’d returned to his homeland. This was another trick by the director, as while the credits say Bagheria, actually, behind me you can see the temple of Segesta. A motorcade of cars pulled up the main entrance of Villa Malfitano, with Michael Corleone and his family.
An orchestra is playing, people are waving flags, and everyone is very happy about his arrival.
On the steps he is met by his family, friends and partners. And of course, the Mafia.
Mary sees of her parents, who are going for a walk.Another beautiful angle of the Villa Malfitano.
This is a farewell picture with a very delightful Baron.Thank You.Michael Corleone and Don Tommasino are arriving to meet Carlo Lamberto. At the entrance, where Lara is standing right now and waving at me, a monk with a wheelchair is waiting for them. This is roughly how Michael Corleone tried to walk through this door in the third part of The Godfather, with his wife right behind him.In confirmation of my words, and that this is exactly the place, you can see this picture.
The director Cappolas favourite angle is the St. Marys Cathedral, as this is its forth appearance.
An episode of The Godfather part three in the town of Forza d’Agra. Only, instead of me, there should be a black car, Michael Corleone and his wife.
The bicycle ridden by the jolly priest and photos from the filming, are carefully preserved in the Antici Muri’s Pizzeria in Forza d’Agra. And on this road the hitmen, on their way to kill Michael Corleone, killed Don Tommasino, who was passing by. And this is the palace of Don Lucchesi.
On the red carpeted steps of the largest opera house in Italy, the Massimo Opera House in Palermo, which is Sicilys capital, the beautiful Mary, daughter of Michael Corleone, was murdered.
Al Pachino’s silent scream, is deservingly hailed as one of the most powerful, and dramatic scenes, in the history of cinema.
This is the chair, on which Michael Corleone sat in part three, before his death.

I would like to go there next summer and inter the yard of that palace where Michael stayed with apollonia, But I feel it’s impossible because every time I see fans they actually shoot it’s from outside the palace, all I want to walk around it for a couple of minutes and I’m more than happy
Idk how you guys got there and if you can make my dream possible please reply for me how can I have the permission to get to walk around the yard at least.
