    I recently purchased the aircraft and absolutely loved it. Your video was incredibly helpful and educational-thank you! By the way, I loved your description of it as a “sports car of a jet”.

    Nice to see you back on the X-Crafts and I'm glad they reached a level of simulation that you find acceptable. You are the only YT channel I know that is actually a real E-Jets pilot and your tutorials have helped me a lot to learn and fly those beautiful jets. Also, it's really nice to hear you have communication with Marko so you can point all the issues you find.

    Am currently working on my atp and I would love to share something with everyone reading this comment I live literally under the proud waypoint as you approaching KLGA for many years I always looked out the window and saw the planes approaching LGA and that motivated me to start my aviation journey as I did my instrument rating I once opened the fore flight app to see the routes of the planes going to LGA and saw the proud waypoint right above me I told myself God welling one day ill be so proud when i fly that one day….and seeing you do this video the minute I saw the proud waypoint i teared up bc something is telling me your almost there….
    To everyone out there always believe in yourself and remember you are one of a few that is blessed to be a pilot…

    Thank you for an excellent and informative video on the E-Jets update 1.1.0. Your experience of flying the real aircraft makes it a professional guide to learn to fly on the sim. I look forward to watching future videos from you.

    Thank you for a very nice and informative video. I haven't purchased this airplane as yet but I think I will after watching this. I'm sure this plane will be enjoyable to fly once I get my head around all the different controls. I have mainly flown Airbus and Boeing since starting to play with the two, XP12 and MSFS2020, but I'm starting to look at other passenger jets now and the regional jets look interesting.

    Auto-brakes are still a bit glitchy, they don't always release unless you give the parking brake a tap. You can see it happening with the brakes data display. Nice flight! I've been "grounded" for a few months and looking forward to getting back to X-Plane 12 and the X-Crafts E-Jets.

    Great video, i appreciate your comments, knowledge and feedback. Not sure if you know this about v-speeds but on the tablet when you calculate them, there is a link in top right corner to 'Send to FMS'. After you do this go to the DLK button on the FMC and select the landing speeds (or takeoff) and it will automatically populate the v-speeds. I'm sure you know that though :) Thanks again, I love your channel and videos.

    How do you deal with Glide Slope not capturing, meaning "manual landing", what auto configuration would you disable to achieve that ?
    Cheers

      @crew-rest  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey! If I understand what you meant, you asked about non ILS approach, for example LOC only approach (GS OUT or unreliable)?
      In that case we would use LOC as lateral mode, and FPA for vertical mode. This might be in a video of its own.

    16:36 Unfortunately, selecting FLEX for the time being does not change N1 values on Engine Display, we may only choose TO/2 fixed derate. This is the main drawback of this addon (hopefully it will be fixed soon)

    • @crew-rest
      @crew-rest  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Honestly it wouldn't matter to me ever. As long as the MCDU menu works and the display represents it well enough, I personally don't actually care if the engine didn't actually derate. I need to get my procedures done correctly, see the correct displays, and later get the plane off the ground safely. Just my personal opinion.

    DCA-LGA…. You fly for Republic too? 😅. I’m not sure about load 27, I don’t have much time with it, but I know load 25 jumps from 250 to 270 @ 10,000 instantly, not the slow increase you had in the sim

    I flew the same route with the Rotate MD80 and the flight director was very jumpy too. I think it has to do with the weather there.

    • @crew-rest
      @crew-rest  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No FD in real life acts this way, even to VERY gusty weather. And it was not gusty at all. The airplane flew well and stable. The FD was way too quick and aggressive to react to speed and attitude change.

    When accelerating does the AP usually just about level out to gain speed then pitch back up? Usually i see the VS come back through 1000fpm but the EJets seems to come down to nearly 0fpm to accelerate… (sometimes it descends me lol)

    • @xcrafts_development
      @xcrafts_development 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So in short: Right after takeoff at acceleration altitude (1200ft), the plane should not be able to fully level off to accelerate, because we imposed an artificial minimum positive FD pitch. Above 10000ft, this limit is removed to permit climb at low fpm if it's needed.
      The long version: We've implemented a lower limit for FLCH climb, so that even if it needs to accelerate, the FD pitch should still climb at least 5° up (I don't remember the exact number now). But this limit is lowered with altitude up to 10000ft, above which we do not limit it anymore, because there were situations in the envelope where the plane would actually climb at low vertical speed and we had to allow that. When we didn't the plane would have stalled in those corner cases.

    • @crew-rest
      @crew-rest  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If I remember correctly, the real airplane would never level off in order to accelerate, but maintain a rate of climb of 500-1000 fpm until reaching the new speed, and then pitching up again to maintain under SPDe logic. At all weights, the airplane should be able to accelerate on a 500fpm climb up to way more than 10,000ft. Probably around FL200 or so. Even at higher altitudes, it would gently pitch to accelerate, maintaining a POSITIVE ROC (not 0) to reach the new speed. Depending on weight, speed, and density altitude (pressure altitude corrected for temperature)

  • @Nocensors-qo3tt
    @Nocensors-qo3tt 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Is there TO speed calculation in the FMC of the real aircraft? If so I wonder why X-Craft have it in the EFB instead.

    • @xcrafts_development
      @xcrafts_development 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      To my knowledge the FMS doesn't calculate it, instead the calcualtions are performed by a 3rd party company so pilots need to send the request via a tablet and then they receive it back.

    • @crew-rest
      @crew-rest  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      There isn't a takeoff calculation feature in the real aircraft, at least not in any one that I've seen. It's done externally, either via crew ipads or using external companies through the ACARS.

    • @Nocensors-qo3tt

      Thank you

    • @maxleitschuh7076
      @maxleitschuh7076 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      At our airline we send for the TO (and approach) speeds through ACARS, and the dataset comes back through ACARS. So we can get all the speeds through the MCDU, but it's not actually the aircraft calculating them.

    37:05 - I'm on the newest software. It doesn't slowly go up, it will just jump to your climb speed.

    • @PKerusso
      @PKerusso 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think they did that as some sort of shortcut to keep the aircraft from being more erratic than it already seems to be…this looks like a beta release

      Another thing too is the fuel at dest seems to be changing a lot during the flight. That doesn’t seem realistic

      That's what I remembered, too. I've been to 2 different type ratings since having flown the Embraer, so I didn't want to completely dismiss the possibility that I don't know of a newer software version or something. Thanks for the info!

    • @crew-rest

      The FOD could have changed because of the discontinuity between the STAR and the APP? I haven't payed attention to it to be honest.

    • @xcrafts_development
      @xcrafts_development 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I gotta admit that you're right. I'm pretty sure that behavior was described to us by a different pilot, but I cannot find any reference to it in the manual. The problem now is that the smooth transition actually does result in a much smoother acceleration and deceleration, so the question is, do we need to go back and remove it, so that it works correctly, but worse? That's a pickle.
