we went last feb 2022 and the resort was awesome. friendly staff, excellent food beach was beautiful, drinks were great, good entertainment. bars and restaurants with beach ocean view. As far as the food i think this reviewer is really fussy or full of it. steaks were delicious, salmon was awesome, sit down or buffet style breakfast was great and hamburgers at the sports bar were huge... not sure what he was looking for..if this was a review of a cuban resort then i would totally agre. i would say the room for the hideaway was not great mostly due to the view of a service road. Also it was hard to get a beach chair and yes unless you are diamond club you cant make a reservation for dinner. the plusses of this resort way outweigh the minuses..but then again you cant keep everyone happy.
Agree....food is very subjective. However, to be fair the food is 'okay'. There is certainly a ton of food to choose from...it's just no 5-Star rating (again, based upon my own experience). I'm sure many will enjoy the food...just wasn't my experience (or my wife's and several of my family members)....I've come to accept this when I travel. I think it depends on the quality of the food where one lives as well. If we're honest you can tell most of the food was frozen, imported, and not the best quality when it comes to most of the meats (chicken was an exception), and as mentioned the steak I ordered "Premium Level Service' was good. But most of the meat in the buffet was sub-par (lots of fat, gristle, etc.). I have to question the hamburger meat as well. Keep in mind, when you buy burger meat you can get it with anywhere from 70% - 90% lean beef (etc)....so meat quality can def. be noticed.

Been to this resort twice. Best thing about this resort is never talked about. Its the only resort so close to the beach for most of the rooms. No taking a tram train to get to the water. Hes wrong on the food, especially the Hunter steak house. Also, the place is clean clean clean. On the neg side there is a lot of locals trying to sell you things and the resort lets them do this. Entertainment is just ok but lots to do still. Drinks are always in your hand and they make sure it stays that way. We will be going back in 23 and will return to this resort, mostly because of the location to the water.

Just got back Ron and have to say I was very disappointed with the hotel..definitely not 5 star and residents at the nearby splash memories paying a lot less but using the royalton facilities. A la carte restaurants so hard to get into unless you book diamond club.. overall 3 star at best UK travellers beware.. this is not a great hotel and has already been downgraded on tui website
I hear ya...I believe we had a 'Premium' package (which made it a little better)....but your correct in many ways. I did an updated video at another resort (was back in DR for family vacation this time).....same really at both resorts. I felt the property itself was nice...but very disappointed in the food. yes, when I was there they did have night shows. Though don't recall exactly what they were.
