I bought a ‘15 Genesis Sedan (Early G80) on a whim, and a lot of my friends made fun of me cause they thought I should’ve gotten a coupe. Then they all rode in it.. Lexicon Audio, the best cooled seats I’ve ever had, was decently quick, comfy as hell to ride in, and a great cruising car. It got totaled thanks to a Prius but damn that car took the hit well, and the safety features were great. Been really happy to see this brand slowly evolve into a very modern competitor to the 3 brands that have been around for ages.

Genesis has accomplished what Lincoln was trying to do in the 80's and 90's with the Continental and Town Car but couldn't. Then there's the drive by wire technology, that a lot of people dont like but its easily the most advanced and promising one in the market. They pioneered that too. Their awd system is top notch too and their reliability is top5 (in part, because of how old they are). Right now Infiniti is on a very low level, yes, but they did deliver a good amount of great cars in the past. And lots of great innovations like the elctro-hydraulic steering in the M/Q70 (which is now used by Porsches and Mclarens), 360° cameras (first on production cars), 4 wheel steering,... Genesis are up to a promising start, in part thanks to all the money Hyundai pumps into them, but they've not brought anything truly revolutionary to the market. What Hyundai and Kia are pulling off these days, at their price points, when they put their minds to it, is deeply impressive. The Ioniq5/EV6 are universally praised and the wait times to get one are brutal. The N products are very solid performance for money. Their crossovers and SUVs are well-rated and in demand. And going toe to toe with the established germans on luxurymobiles, and by now giving them quite a reasonable fight for much less money, is the icing on top.

@@doubledown8229 They've gone away from classic elegance and going with bold everything. It's supposed to make each new model seem like being worth upgrading, but I think they've undermined their own design principles. There's no continuity anymore. They're experimenting too much, trying to see what sticks. I think the less prestigious names are doing it better now. There's more consistency, fewer shock elements, and more identifiable design language through the whole fleet. BMW interiors aren't too bad, but the exteriors are poor. Mercedes is just ugh.
