I was in a thrift store two weeks ago and saw sheet music from BJ Thomas gospel album, which I bought. “Raindrops” was always on the radio when I was eight years old. My dad would say it was his favorite song. I had not thought of him in years. I started watching his videos on TH-cam and then learned he had stage four lung cancer. I have been praying for him since. What a wonderful man. He is in the Presence of Jesus and singing to the Lord. He has a wonderful legacy. God bless his family.

BJ did a concert for Homecoming at Evangel (then college)University around 78. When I got in the gym the seats were full so the line hesitated. Then the line headed to the front of the stage and sat on the floor. I was just left of center. A woman with a BJT jacket sat down to my left. After he sang one the woman stuck her little fingers in each side of her mouth and bout split my eardrum with whistles and screaming. She backhand slapped me on the chest and laughed out, " I feel like a groupie!" The woman sitting on the floor by me was his wife Gloria.
He and his sweet wife Gloria are so precious. I’ve known BJ for years through my dad. They met playing in a golf tournament together. Gloria is the kindest woman you’d ever meet! We’ll all miss you BJ! Gloria, Paige, Erin, Nora, Blanche, and Atticus are in my prayers.
