    Wealth of knowledge from you older guys! I run my own tree service, been using a saw since I was 7-8 yrs old, I've learned so much from self experience but then also watching you, buckin, August etc... cant beat 30,40,50 yrs of real experience. Thank You!

    Hey... I'm very new to you're Chanel and I'm no loger or an aborts but I do cut trees for a living my brother and I own a small home woods management business. That's really all beside the point, I just wanted to explain all that so you have a bit of an idea who I am. The hole reason I'm sending you a comment is just to say I really enjoy your videos and the fact that you really talk about all the aspects of working in the wood and about the saws.... hope you're able to keep doing this a long time 👍

    Thanks Harv real enjoyed this I hauled logs for a while always enjoyed working in the woods and we heated all by wood back up in NY up in St. Lawrence county on the farm we would cut 40 cord every year to keep ahead so it would be cured. This was back in the late 60 and 70 we ran Homelites

      THE IRONHORSE soldier, I just thought it a little ironic. I have a 460 and 440 and they are great saws. My favorite is still my 360 because it will do almost what my bigger saws will do in a much lighter saw.

      Well, at bird's view that's approx 335 miles, we are east coast neighbors, slaves to hardwoods kingdom Wife and I, turned seventy, and still in the woods, cutting yesterday deep in snow with our son for firewood and lumber. Son finished fixing a to z a few months ago, his old Homi XL 76 (your US 125...). Got that bugger screeming all afternoon for more wood.

    High iron horse this is what I do for a living cut timber Bender 30-year had Timberjack skidder to and then ended up with a 648 G3 but be honest we I'd rather have a cable skidder because there's a lot less headaches with hydraulics if anybody ever that you know has a graffle type then they'll tell you that they can be real headaches I keep the sawdust fine Iron Horse I believe you might be a little bit faster than you buddy buckin Billy I thought you got him candy worn while you think

    Alot of the Ash here in Mckean Co. Pa is gone from beetles . Some of it is tricky cutting because the outside holding wood is punky with solid middle. Choose your cut wisely.

    I like the Deutz in that Timberjack, don’t see many with the Deutz especially the smaller size 225 machines like that one. I’ve got the 100hp 5 cyl Deutz in my Tree Farmer and it’s a BEAST! What was your mention of a school bus when talking about the skidder?

    • @theironhorse6600
      @theironhorse6600  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s a 230. Same machine? Haha! School bus steps to get in! Don’t go strait up a cable ladder!

    • @jdatwood7086
      @jdatwood7086 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      THE IRONHORSE
      Ahh gotcha, yes that is nice. It’s amazing how much that wears you out and makes you sore climbing in and out of a machine. I’ve had Deere’s and now a Tree Farmer and it gets old climbing in and out but I do like the safety factor of the ground clearance. I think someday I’ll get a Jack though when my body gets too worn out..

    Harvey cuts just like the guy who taught me bore cuts a lot, notice how easy Harvey is on the timber when he falls they come down clean no snapping and poppin and cracking he is a good logger no doubt. I have cut tons of dead ash trees down, they are all dead from that Emerald Ash Bore.
