My Ether is on the way this week I think, and I was wondering how it compares with other vaguely similar options. Hainbach did a good video recently making his own type of Ether just using two telephone mics and a field recorder.

I'm still on the waiting list I think, but one of the differences between the Hainbach/Elektroslutch design is the addition of some other radio circuit. The Ether seems to pickup 'other' signals in addition to the electrical chirping that Hainbach showed. I can't wait for mine to arrive!!!

@@prrkindustriessoundenthusi2948 I've experimented with the telephone coil techniques, I agree they are very tame. I think its not that the Ether add another circuit, just that their claim that its wide band is more accurate, as radio waves are just electro magnetic radiation. The sensitivity suggests that your other comment is true as well, there's some clever gain staging and isolation going on, as they pickup everything bar the noise. I'd like to go out onto the moors, far away from mains power, and try and tune in to very low frequency radio, submarines etc. I've heard its possible but sensitive to interference, needing a remote place, at night.

I've been trying to build the electrosluch for a while now. I am not very happy with the sound. Very noisey. I am also casing it up and will take it outside to check results. My teacher once build a very simular device. But he used multiple stages in the amplification to keep the noiselevel low. What kind of case where you using by the way? It looks like a casting. Cheers!

I agree, the elektrosluch is quite noisy, but it is very basic. Maybe some noise gating or post effects might calm it. There just be a lot of emf in the environment you’re testing in. The enclosure is a simple ABS case from Rapid Electronics in the uk, but anything will do. From memory I think it was a generic remote control enclosure. Good luck with the testing.

Hey! Thanks chief! I love your video of the forest walk. I've just done a new video, part two of The Ether is going up now if you're interested. Thanks for being 100!!! The schematic for the emf sensor? Thats here: th-cam.com/video/rrDtBW1FyJo/w-d-xo.html

    Hi, any news?
I really wish to buy one.

It arrived today! I'll make a video soon, but I would get in touch with Soma, they had just made another batch, they take ages to make. I was on a waiting list for a few months. Good luck!
