Installing EV Charger | LIVOLTEK

I install the smart EV Charger from Livoltek which is the 7.3kW Single Phase version. This is a test before I go ahead with the main solar power system for the new Garage / Workshop on the off grid property.
I unbox, install and try out this really nice looking smart charger to use with my Renault ZOE.
Ian & Julie are building Passive House Container Home which will be totally off grid as well as increasing the productivity of their tiny homestead. Aiming to be totally self sufficient with all their food and energy in the next few years - all of this totally debt free by doing everything themselves.

Many thanks we really like your video's. You explain everything so well did you work out a cost for setting up the EV including panels? Also did all the groundworks come in on budget for walls and slab? what would you do different if you did it again? regards David

We had already the Solar system - that cost me €7500 a few years ago and included 18 z 340w panels, 1 z 6kw inverter and 2 x 2.4Kw batteries. Sort of gets us through the night but I need another 6 to 8 batteries to make sure we are comfortable. The new house and garage will have a lot more panels and a different car charger that CAN use the excess juice to charge (this Livoltek did not in fact work in the end as a smart charger).

Happen to also think of WINDMILLS FOR POWER TOO , my dream home will be both wind,solar and hero if possible

We are looking at windmills but this may not go down well as we are in a historic zone. It was difficult enough for the approval for the solar panels 😝

The advantage of solar energy is environmental protection, but the disadvantage is insufficient stability

That is why it needs to talk with the inverter and allow the car to charge when there is capacity - I am hoping this will come soon. But love charging from the sun - that was my goal. thanks for commenting.

I do like those VW’s but as you say, always just around the corner - my son just got the Renault Megane E-Tech and is is beautiful & Fast.
