The book showed Lyran and Will's relationship grow in a much more detailed light. Roger was Lyra's best friend and they loved each other a lot, but platonically. His death is one of the pivotal plot points for the story, and it was just a part of her destiny. @@n-fotrnd1150
Well... every being had to live in their own universe for their spririt to remain healthy. It hurts to be in the wrong universe too long as Will's father said. And they couldn't travel between wolds because all portals had to be closed up and the knife destroyed so disorder/darkness could not get a chance to emerge from the gaps in the Dust. So they had to live apart. I hope this clears it up a bit.@@jlordj2660
i love what Phillip Pullman did with this ending. Lyra and Will do represent Adam&Eve. but unlike the biblical characters, Lyra and Will made the ultimate sacrifice to stay apart, leave paradise, and SAVE the universe by preserving the DUST in all the universes, which ironically supposedly represents “evil” according to the magisterium.
This series never got the exposure it deserved, only unnecessary hate. I understand the allegory, but obviously no one is made to think it’s the same as real life. It’s fantasy and details are wildly exaggerated, like many other franchises that use religion as a basis for storytelling. The show is really good, and I’m one of the few people who hoped for the movies to be brought into fruition a long time ago.
They did try to make it a movie years ago!! But now I’m thankful that it failed and we got this TV series instead!! There is no way in a movir trilogy that they could hit you as hard as they do at the end of the TV show!! And I’m sure the producers would’ve been like no no we need to give it a happy ending!!
I would’ve worked to expand more on Lyra‘s world. In my opinion I never knew what happened to the magisterium and the polar bears and witches, and how they tides resolved in their war.
Their separation broke my heart. The depth of their bond and the pain of their farewell brought tears to my eyes. That moment will forever echo within me, a beautiful blend of love and loss."
After DARK, this is the 2nd best ending in my watched series list. Although they deserved better ending but got separated for the greater good. After watching this masterpiece, of course i'll cry for a week for their separation. But deep down, His Dark Materials will be one of the masterpiece series's to be encountered💚
I remember reading the books for the first time more than 10 years ago. Watching this show has been incredible, bringing back so many memories. It was awesome to see the creatures from my imagination being represented on a screen
I’m glad the movie they tried to do years ago!! Never went past the first movie!! There is no way through a trilogy of three movies. Could they have pulled off what they did in this TV show!! it is heartbreaking and you still love the story they told you!! That is storytelling!! And with these three seasons, they were able to make that connection there’s no way they could pull that off and three movies!!
I don't care if the price for living in another world is my life is cut short. I'd rather live 10 glorious years with the woman I love then 60 year's living in misery.
I watched Golden Compass when I was a child. It felt incomplete with that horrible ending of a movie, and no sequel came of it. Recently found out about this series, and my curiosity is finally done. Beautiful story, great acting, and the plot was just right up my alley. Sighs* cheers to a bittersweet end.
It’s crazy the first time I went through the whole season, through all the years!! I was sad, but I didn’t cry!! Then two months later I’ve binged it!! That’s when it came out that’s when I started crying at the end!! it is the most beautiful and heartbreaking ending 🤧🥺😢😭
These two are literally the first and only time a straight couple has managed to make me feel emotional about them. Usually I don't feel as much when it comes to straight couples so the fact that His Dark Materials managed to just proves how good it was. Probably my favourite books and show. Mrs Coulter is my favourite part of it though.
@@breennromero5430 there's two trilogies in the his dark materials books. The second trilogy has one book that's a prequel and one that's a sequel and one that's about something else which I forgot. You could probably look it up
Exactly!! I’m like you mean to tell me saving the multiverse don’t got ANY PERKS ????? COME ON ANGELS!! Y’all ain’t gotta answer to Metatron no more.. 😒
Just finished watching it. Never read the books. Big fan of the golden compass movie. As in depth as this show is, I would have never guessed the journey they would be on from the movie. People say the show is lacking but it is always difficult to convert books to live adaptation.
I hate star crossed romantic endings it’s too heartbreaking, after everything they’ve been through they can’t ever be together again. I hate this ending
Watch the show…. WOOOWW!! It is a such beautiful but heart breaking ending!! I’m glad I had no idea how the story was going to end, and this was not what I expected!! I ain’t crying ppl 😢😢….. it’s an emotional ending 😂😂😂😂❤❤
I wonder how many young girls though that dating a guy similar to the show would produce this level of romance rather than a council housing single motherhood.
Mennnn i dont care what anyone say his dark materials is way better thing the last season of game of thrones and that movie call the Golden 🧭 and i dare someone to tell me otherwise
Oh, I’m sure you’re not alone on that one!! I thought I wasted years after the last season of Game of Thrones!! This show just kept getting better and better, and thankfully, I’ve never written the book and I had no idea how it ends!! so this hit me way harder than I thought it would’ve had I read the book!! After the show I went to other people they’re like oh no, that’s exactly how the book ends!! 🥺😢😭… when a TV show makes you feel into these characters that strongly you have done your job!!
Game of thrones was produced by HBO, His dark materials was produced by BBC with an exclusive release on HBO.. there is a difference in production and care for both series..
They had no business keeping these two apart 😢it broke my heart to know they had to resort to this just to be together 💔
Will was so random. It should have been Roger

Ironically, Adam and Eve are bad because they decided that gatekeeping the knowledge is evil.
