Terrific I would love to see Joyce dressed up a Queen Elizabeth I in Rossini's opera. She is the most recent example of a superior bel canto singer! Her Rossini as her Donizetti is fabulous. Also interesting to see that Rossini who knew that it was legal to borrow or re-hash tunes from his own operas, was using melodies we immediately recognize from Una Voce Poco Fa from Barber of Seville and the final section with the chorus is clearly Non Piu Mesta from La Cenerentola. Love it.

All the technical tedious work she does clearly shows here. The woman is unbelievable. Her voice is truly an incredible instrument that she has mastered.

Magnifique. Dommage qu'elle n'ait pas chanté le rôle sur scène plutôt que d'aller se fourvoyer chez Maria Stuarda.
Elizabeth I with Rossini's music... Too romantic for my liking. I would've preferred a more renaissance or even baroque rendition.
