Thank you so much for walking through your thought process, with examples, for writing. I greatly appreciate this and am sure others will also. Great work!
You recommend writing the paper following the order it is presented in the journal. However, experts recommend a different approach. Develop first your Tables and Figures. Then write your results around your Tables and Figures. The Methods section can be written at any time. Write your introduction, discussion, and lastly, the Abstract.
I always recommend developing your tables and figures first. Then outlining. The reason I write in order is because it allows me to write more naturally. Whenever I have written the results before my introduction, I am much more repetitive because I explain things in the results and then re explain them in the introduction, because I don't know what I am writing in the introduction. I have also noticed this in papers I edit of others that write this way. I also write my abstract last as well. I would always recommend that you test the different methods to write for you and go with the way that works best for you!
