@@theodorostzitzimbourounis Cool. I started a U-boat from AFV. I have a few from Combrig in the stash. I'm more of an aviation guy. But I have completed the old Fujimi Deutschland in 700 scale and I really enjoyed it.

Had this box sitting around for a couple of years. After I studied the directions and realized how much rigging was necessary I knew I would never be able to finish it. COVID changed all this and in March, I decided to start working on it. In general, I will say this is a very good edition box for an older model as this goes back to the 80s. Beautiful colorful instructions, nice box, all sprues in plastic bags. Not much flash but the hull was a bit warped as also the decks, which made it difficult to position the front deck in place.
IMPORTANT: Know from the beginning the following about rigging:
    1. If you are planning of completing the rigging, the blocks included are not enough. I used another 40-50 that I had from other ships.
    2. If you are planning of using the blocks provided know that most of the holes are not clean so you will need to “drill” them. Even if there are holes, you will need to make them bigger since you will have to pass through two threads. Why? Because there are no hooks on the blocks so you can hang them.
    3. If you are planning of completing the rigging, throw away the black thick thread that is provided. Do not make the mistake I did, you will live to regret it. The thick thread is made of plastic (at least that is how it feels), and will not stretch. See suggestions as to why you need to throw it.
    4. Place all strings through the blocks before hanging. If of course, you end up buying blocks with hanging hoops there is no need. When I ran out of the ones in the box the ones I used had hanging hoops and made things so much easier.
    5. Plan ahead. Especially as to when you will place the hanging sails and the blocks needed for them.
    6. Wait until the end to place the hanging lifeboats so you can work or they will be in your way.
Suggestions, Tips and Mistakes to Avoid.
    1. I decided to glue everything almost on the decks before placing them in position. This is up to you. I found it easier to place all the small pieces on but you need to be careful when it is time for the decks to go on the hull.
    2. STEP 16: Place the string for the hanging boats before gluing the two halves together.
    3. STEPS 16-19: All white railing I added it at the end so I can work with the rigging.
    4. STEPS 18-19: In step 19 it shows you that pieces 210 and 211 go in front of the two round bollards not behind. You can verify this from revell’s own pictures. Do not try to glue them behind because you will have problem with the ropes that will pass through pieces 83 (the green ones).
    5. STEP 27: I had this amazing idea of placing all black strings from the beginning by passing them through all the deck holes and gluing them in position. I measured (some go up and come down) and glued them all in. You can see this from the pictures. Awesome, awesome idea, because at the end all you will have to do is lift and tie. My great plan went down the tube when I realized that the plasticky string could not stretch. It is just too thick to pull tight so the strings looked horrible. At the end, I cut them all and the ones you see I actually tied on the railings. Maybe it was the string or me but if I had thought of this before I would have purchased a thicker regular black string and used it from the beginning. The box provides two black strings. The thinner one is just fine but it tells you to use the thicker one for these. Whatever you use do what I did because it will be impossible later to glue them on.
    6. Remember to pass all strings for the sails before you glue them on. I worked from the back to the front.
    Look at all pictures 28, 29, 31.
    7. For the hanging sails my suggestion (which I discovered later and applied for the second set) is to place them when the time comes and not afterwards. For example: When I reached the third sail (starting from the lowest one) of the front mast I placed the three front hanging sails. When I glued the fourth sail of the front mast, I placed the fourth hanging. I say to do this in the same way because it will be much easier to tight the string of the hanging rope rather than waiting later and trying to do this by passing through a million other strings. Why I did not thing of this before?
    8. For the hull and especially the sails you will need to first prime. Do not attempt to paint the sails the color suggested before you prime. They will look terrible especially in the sun. Prime and then the sails with two light coats done. Same for the hulls. Even with the primer it took 3-4 hands. (Everything is hand painted. I have never used air-brushing. I know it looks wonderful but it takes, for me at least, the fun out. )
    9. There is no chain in the box for the anchors. Just a string.
    10. If you look at the very last picture section 33, right above the anchor there are two strings. Two above the left and 2 above the right. I noticed this at the end so I glued the black strings first to the holes. I think it will be much easier and look tighter if you pass two strings one left one right from both holes (top and bottom) before placing the deck. This way you will not need to glue and the string will be tight while if you look at my picture due to the glue the string takes a curve.
Merry Christmas and I wish you always in good health and to enjoy the holidays with your families playing board games and completing models. Ok and some video games too. :) No telephone games, apps, and...... you know....
