Had a similar experience. I was at work and was not really feeling well. I was having chills and it got to the point where my fingers were ice cold and numb. After my shift I realized that my wedding ring's not there. I checked everywhere. I even checked the trash bins in the washroom to make sure it didn't got stuck in the paper towels when I was drying my hands with it earlier. Last thing I checked was my bag and it was there! It fell off my finger when I was scrambling inside for my wallet during lunch, and since my hands were cold I didn't feel it fall off.
Ever since that day I started wearing my wedding ring on my middle finger to make sure it doesn't slip again.
P.S. This happened less than a month after I got married. I still haven't told this story to my husband. (>_

私は指輪しないけど、友だちとか手を洗う前とか何かするときは絶対指輪外してるから、そういうので無くなっちゃうんだろうなって思います。逆にマメだなァ物を大切にしてるんだなぁって印象でした。
