The horrible mug In the intro..👍 Thank you. He looked like Errol Flynn after a three day binge 😁 I must now only have footed bowls. You find the perfect specimens. Now get out there and find more Northwood.😎
TFS! I have been going through my mother’s depression & uranium glass. I got LED/black light flash light. I just discovered that some (a lot) of her clear glass has uranium in it! I assumed uranium had to be green! 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️ just had to say that I wish I had gotten my flashlight sooner! Great segment as usual! 👍👍👍👍👍✌️❤️🙏🏼
Had a great day in the charity shop yesterday.Found two of those swung carnival glass vases in cobalt blue in a rib pattern for£3.Absolutely stunning on the window ledge with the sun shining on them.Mind you we are lucky to get the sun today as it was snowing yesterday😂
That's Colonel C. P. Dixie to you son. It's funny you mentioned people calling you picky. Not even a minute before you said that, I was thinking about how much I like how selective you are. You know just what you want for yourself and your buyers.
Also, you are very entertaining- much more than some of the other thrifters and you like what I like. That helps!! I would prefer to shop along with you. Thanks.
Hi there Scott!! So GOOD to see you!!👍👍👍👍❣ I'm so happy you passed on the red button-bottom vase; something creepy about it😳 I love the fan vase...ding and all!👍👍❣ The song I only know as "Jerusalem" if there's another name I don't know it. Thanks for the shopping, as always! Take care...👍👍👍❣❣❣❣😘 .. ..
I’m not too sure about the Name that tune It sounds a bit like a Welsh Choir singing the old British hymn Jerusalem, but it’s a little different with the Hosannas. It’s amazing to hear the music from the old Eddyphone! Thanks for that. 😀😀
You are teaching me to be more picky. I have been collecting different items from the 20’s, 30’s, 40’s, 50’s like you since the late 70’s. Love it all and have too much. Don’t want to sell so I have been giving much of it back to goodwill so you can find it. Ha!!
I thought for sure that I wouldn't know the song you were going to play. I went to Catholic church and it seems like they had a whole different hymnal sometimes. Anyway... it only took a few notes and I was immediately singing along. We definitely sang the song. I thought it was called Jerusalem but I don't remember actually ever seeing that written out that way. Great old song!
Back in the day, we had a player piano and this "The Holy City" roll. My dad would sing along with his lovely baritone voice while pumping the pedals wildly! A great memory. Scott, you're a wonderful host and teacher. Thank you.
Not your thing but my eye caught the collection of framed playbills in the upper left shelf of the frames. I saw “Art”. Couldn’t see the others. Curious what those would sell for in a thrift store - you’re a lot closer to NYC than I am. Great video.
Scott On your biscuit jar try white vinegar with salt and scrub it around for about a minute and rinse. I’ve had really good luck with that. Also sometimes repeat. 😊
Grey video like always. I'm no sure. But is the tune Hosana 🤔. I don't know but my husband think it is. Thanks for the video Scot stay safe and bless 💟👏👏🖒
Lol 😆 I don't know how you do it. You must be focused I went in bought everything. But my Fenton Slippers were not in the store 😕 I need to take a quick look. And on to the next store.Love the pitcher. Time for ice tea;)
I like the fact that you're picky because everything I've bought from you has been in perfect condition. The cobalt blue pitcher came last Friday and it is even more beautiful than it was in the pictures.
Missed you!! You said if you didn't see us Saturday or Sunday, you'd see us Monday! :) Just playing with you, but I really do enjoy ending my day with your videos.
I would love to hear about the store you had with your father. Also, please tell us more about the differences you keep in mind when you shop to sell online vs. when you are stocking an antique booth or store.
Thank you Scott , so wonderful to see your back and picky picking , I admire that about you . I can’t name that tune , but it is familiar . My Dad always played name that tune with us and I miss it , so thank you for the memory .
I love that piece from the vanity set. It is a pity it is missing it's lid. I have my great grandmothers hair receiver and the lidded piece in that same pattern. They have silver plated lids.
I am learning the lesson about being "picky". You are so right, it isn't a good idea to pickup everything. I have a bunch I regret buying because the work involved is staggering for only a small return. Fyi...I was in Goodwill last night and sure wished I could have texted you a picture of some elegant glass. I wasn't sure what it was. I figured you would know if it was worth the price. I decided not to get it because I wasn't comfortable with the price.
If your spending hard earned money to make a living then you should be as picky as you want. Also I love the chip and dip Japanese painted set. Also just a thought. I bet if you put a votive candle in there and lit it the cut of the glass and the lit candle it would reflect beautifully. Love the green depression glass pedestal dish. Really like everything. Great haul as usual as always looking forward to your next one. Happy Cinco Dr Mayo 😊❤
Yeah, I’m kind of mad about the EAPG vase even though it wasn’t old - it was gorgeous, and would have been amazing once it was cleaned up. The red footed vase was striking even though it probably wasn’t vintage. “Picky” isn’t a bad way to be, especially when it affects your bottom line. The EAPG biscuit jar may be sick, but it’s still beautiful.
Thanks for explaining "sick glass" I never heard of that before, anxious to see if there is a remedy for it in the case of the biscuit jar. Very informative.
Not picky - discerning. I need some sympathy. Went antiquing for our anniversary. Found a lovely pink Depression platter, Buttons and bows pattern. Very affordable. Then tragedy struck. While rearranging our stuff. The bag broke and it broke.!!! Didn't even get it home. Did find an orphan Manhattan creamer, to match up with the orphan sugar I picked up a while back. I think in my years of collecting orphans, I've made about 6 matches. I've also noticed that different patterns by the same company are often similar enough in size and shape to hang out on the same tea tray. Not shapes and etching, some of the molded patterns.
Love your jaunts to the thrift stores. Are these the same ones you usually visit? There is so much stuff in all of them! There just aren't many thrifts around here in Central California, and they're definitely not so well stocked. (It's probably better that way for me though--need to downsize.).
Hi Scott, isn't the carnival swung glass also from Northwood family too? I have a smaller version of the yellow flowered pitcher. Also, the little cobalt vases with stoppers are similar to the ones I have that were made in Israel. 🇮🇱
that Scott fellow sure is so darn PICKY and pontificates and extrapolates....(jk) Name That Tune: Canadian singer Henry Burr's 1903's "Holy City" :----)
🎶Jerusalem! Jerusalem! Lift up your voice and singgggg!!!! Hosanna in the highest!!!!! Hosanna to THE Kinnnnngggg!!! 🎶🎶🎶🎶Holy City👵💖🦋🙏🙌 ( just back from choir practice here) We actually used the hymnal tonight too😄

That's an awesome discovery!! I'm like a little kid when the glass glows...lol
"Drat Said the Cat" 😸
A gorgeous kitchen counter. GREAT VIDEO AND GREAT CONTENT. THUMBS-UP ALWAYS!!!!!
Wow that green fan vase glows and looks fabulous! I love perusing the thrift store shelves w/you. Happy thrifting!
Sick glass is heartbreaking especially when it’s a really nice piece. Love the chip and dip set, stunning!
I like you being picky picky - it's what makes your items consistently exceptional!
I think you are discerning.
C. P. Dixie is from the Chester pottery company from Phoenixville pa. Dixie is the pattern

Wasn't that piece flashed on as well? It looked like it had a little boo boo. 😊
I love the different things you do in your episodes. Thank you for sharing.
You are so welcome!

Good early morning here to you Scott.
The song is The Holy City (Jerusalem)

I always just knew it as Hosanna.
We drink mint juleps in South Louisiana. Had my first at Oak Alley Plantation in Vacherie, LA
I'd love to hear about your being in business with your dad! I bet that was a terrific time.
The cheese and cracker set is awesome!
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Hi Scott!
Beautiful Nearcut squat cracker jar by Cambridge - Marjorie design. the 3 pt relish was also Cambridge with Rosepoint etch. Beautiful elegant glass!
Thanks for the info!

Love the old hymn "Jerusalem".

@@grammiecopper9024 me too!! Isn't it funny the things we look forward to!? I don't think Scott has any idea how much a part of our lives he is!!
Love your channel. It's rapidly become a favorite. Thank you so much for letting us into your world.
Wow, thank you!
U bring quality stuff and I learn alot from u.
I love name that tune and guess the treasure !!!
I like the fact that you're picky because everything I've bought from you has been in perfect condition. The cobalt blue pitcher came last Friday and it is even more beautiful than it was in the pictures.
Red piece was a Mosser reproduction spooner in the Eye Winker pattern I believe.
I believe you are correct.

We need a Q & A!! Lot's of Q's! Hosanna?
I know the song but the title escapes me...
I like the mint juleps in Disneyland

Hosanna in the Highest....
I think I know the hymn...Hosanna. I could hear the calling inside the song. It's an ancient type hymn if I am correct with my recollection.
I just then scrolled down the comments...the folks seem to agree that the hymn is Hosanna.

I do hope you manage to clean the cookie/biscuit jar as it is simply beautiful. Have a blessed night Scott.

Picky is discernment,wise..
The Holy City
💜💜💜💜💜💜
I had that very same EAPG vase I did make a good amout but it took me time to sell.
My mother had a forest green pansy dish that I broke I do still have the clear glass frog.
Hosanna in the Highest?
Beautiful pieces
Some great pieces Scott 😊. I can’t “name that tune” 😑.
I believe mint juleps are a little more Southern, Georgia maybe?
Is that The Holy City?
Thanks for explaining "sick glass" I never heard of that before, anxious to see if there is a remedy for it in the case of the biscuit jar. Very informative.
I think it was imperial thunderbolt hobstar.

You have my sympathy as pink depression glass is my favorite. I would have shed a tear or two at least over it.

I'm too young to name that tune. 😂
So glad to see you. Missed you. The song I have heard more than once but I couldn't tell you the name. I could just make a wild guess "O Jerusalem"
Hi Scott, isn't the carnival swung glass also from Northwood family too? I have a smaller version of the yellow flowered pitcher. Also, the little cobalt vases with stoppers are similar to the ones I have that were made in Israel. 🇮🇱
Oh yes....Northwood is one of the big producers of old carnival glass.
👏👏👏👏👏🍀💕

What is ur opinion on putting breakables.Smashed into baggies?♡
Don't do it! Run run away from the baggies!
Up from the grave he arose !
🍾🥂🥴
Hey. What is sick glass?
I promise to talk about that soon.
Give me a thumbs up if you secretly want Scott to show the creepy antique dolls...
