Watching the Christmas decoration of the 1925 Bungalow is like getting a Christmas card. All your decorations fill the heart with merriment and nostalgia.
Scott, you brought tears to this old lady. It was like seeing my Christmas as a child at my grandma’s home. Thank you! It was so lovely and God bless. Merry Christmas!
Funny story. I inherited our old family Nativity scene. My Dad built the manger building. My Mom bought the figures a few at a time at after Christmas sales, so none of them match. Some of the sheep are from my brother’s Lionel train set but the starring role of Jesus is played by my tiny rubber baby doll that I named baby Anna. People probably wonder why I put that tattered old Manger scene under the tree every year but it means the world to me. Merry Christmas everyone!
That is so funny as I have almost the same thing happen in my family, too, My uncle built a nice manger for my mother years ago and over years we have added pieces to the scene. We have a large number of people and animals of all different sizes and ilks. It may look a bit to odd to the observer but it is very special top me as I have inherited it. It is not the fancy curated nativities that you can buy in the stores, but I remember almost every single piece and how they came to be.
My family creche (not an expensive one) had two sheep whose legs had become broken. My mother had purchased two replacements but I said Oh no! The broken legged sheep had to stay too! My mother said okay. So the flock grew. The one most broken would be placed so his head would hang over the cardboard railing of the stable so he could balance on three legs.
Beautiful. I wasn't prepared for the tug at my heartstrings and the tears that followed while missing loved ones this year. Your selections of the music were perfect and introduced them at precise scenes throughout the video. Scott, thank you for this beautiful video and the extraordinary work that was involved in creating this for us. Merry Christmas 🎄
Thank you for this beautiful and sentimental video. Merry Christmas to you Scott and to all the viewers of this channel. My husband and I have been celebrating 25 years of marriage. While we were dating as students in NJ in our first Christmas together over 30 years ago, we rolled up pennies and took them to the bank. We had enough to purchase a tree. We brought it back to the apt we rented, and it turned out to be too tall but we made it work. The landlord’s cat would visit us often, and together we became a family that Christmas.
Thanks Scott for your kindness in sharing; your home with us; it was a walk down memory lane for me. Been missing my siblings especially this year as I turn 79 in a few days. I was the baby, 10 yrs. after the last one. I was fortunate to find a pumpkin pie this season that looks & tastes just like the ones my mother made each Christmas.
Scott, you are truly an old soul with your love of all these very nostalgic treasures of the past. It takes a very special person to see the value and beauty in all the items you adorn your home with. Thank you.
Your decor and every touch of detail is such a delight for the soul. You are a treasure, Scott. May God bless you and bring you great joy this Christmas and throughout the new year. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and life with all of us. Merry Christmas!
You have a beautiful home. It is so wonderful to see new life, enjoyment, and love for so many vintage and antique Christmas items. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
One year an uncle (who had too much eggnog) went under our tree to re-rail one of the HO miniature trains which derailed. He stood up too soon and the entire tree fell lengthwise on the dining table all set for dinner. My mom wasn’t too happy and the tree was tied to the window moulding in two spots every year after that.
Your little bungalow looks majestic with all of your beautiful Christmas embellishments. You have a magical touch, elevated everything without overdoing it. Love this video ❤❤❤
Thank you so much, Scott. Your Christmas decor is just beautiful and brought us smiles. This time of year can be so tough. Sharing your collections is a true gift!
Scott, I don’t know if anyone has told you this, but you have a beautiful heart and soul. Soon your Dad will return to help you enjoy your train set around the tree. Your Fans, are blessed to have you in our lives. Happy Holidays to You and your Family living and past. Candy Atlantic City
Hi Scott I sure do like the lights in the window. Everything looks beautiful! Oh I love the old light bulbs. Thanks for sharing your life with us! God bless everyone!
100 years ago was pretty special! Your home is a time capsule of the best of the best! Open your door and step back into history 100 years. It feels like you were there! God bless you as you are one talented fellow just saving our yesteryear traditions and beauty lest we forget. Merry Christmas to you and chat friends 🎄
Dear Scott, I loved every minute. I remember you saying that decorating would be on hold till after your Dad's birthday. He would love it that your train will be circling the tree this year. So many wonderful items you've gathered. Your home must be silently singing, and reminiscing of olden days, and those who lived there. But you've started making your own memories and boy they're number 1 in my opinion. Thank you for giving us a glimpse of something wonderful to behold. Say, "Hi" to your Mom and Stepdad, family and friends too. Peace, happiness and joy to you. Jersey Ann from NJ 🎄
The green Tiffany glass lamp is amazing! My paternal grandmother here in NYC had several which seemed to “vanish” when she passed. I still have most of her Christmas “toys” (she’d call her ornaments “toys.”) Lots of great memories brought back tonight, thank you.
My grandmother had that china cabinet and kept her hard xmas candy in it and my brother and I fought over the one piece we liked...the peanut shaped candy with a bit of peanut butter in it!
My brother was a chaos demon. He’d throw whole chestnuts into my aunt’s fireplace until one exploded and broke several of her china pieces. Yeah, Santa was pretty stingy with his gifts that year!
Well, that does it❣️With that said, you have now stolen my heart❣️😊 That green garland that you’ve swaged over the mirrors and cabinets: I❤❣️ Just every bit of this decor is joyous! 😊 Thank you for this video, Scott.
Thank you so much for this beautiful calming video. Your home is beautiful and you sure know how to decorate. Those were much simpler times and your treasures show that. The music was top notch ❤
Oh how lovely.....touched my heart in so many ways. This brought back so many memories of Christmas past. I'm in tears, sir! I wish you joy during this holiday season. Merry Christmas!
The music and your camera work are amazing. Your Christmas tree reminds me of my childhood. We had a real tree cut from our farm and only decorated one week before Christmas. Absolutely lovely, Scott. Bravo!
Your house is lovely! You decorate not only with the appreciation of the items but with love! And I never thought of using the old bulbs for decorating! Thanks for sharing and Merry Christmas!
Couldn’t be any more warm & inviting Scott 🎄. Simply lovely 🕊️as Christmas should be. Off you go now to put that train up 🚂 & “have yourself a Merry Little Christmas!” 🎅
Thank you for this wonderful Christmas video. Like another has said, it brought tears to my eyes, longing for all the Christmas’s past. Your placement of all your precious ornaments is so perfect. So lovely, and I especially loved the way the red willow looked in the cabinet. Merry Christmas and many blessings to you, Scott. ❤
That was beautifully done, you have a filmmaker's eye for detail, and pacing. We share a taste for humble, Woolworth decorations which, a bit sparse and frumpy to some eyes, confuse younger people who see my place at Christmas. I grew up with a very secular celebration of Christmas, but as a boy I decided we needed a nativity scene, so my mother and I went on quite the expedition to many stores. I remember both of us laughing at one, with plastic figures that had light bulbs inside, so they had a kind of radioactive glow. Anyway, I found the creche of my dreams at The Broadway, a somewhat upscale department store in southern California, and my mother paid the $12,50 without question. I keep the receipt, yellowed and crumbling, with the creche, to remind me of that day. Sorry to ramble, but you have a way of connecting us with our memories. Thanks!
All those early, mid-century illuminated “blow-mold” figures cost a fortune nowadays… if you can find them. Halloween Jack-o’Lanterns that were $2.59 back then cost $150. and up on eBay. Nostalgia is expensive.
Wonderful Scott! You are living in your very own 1930's living diorama! Well done!❤ You could charge for tours! 😊 Just such beautiful and memories for many of us oldies. Thank you for sharing and a Happy Holiday Season to you and your family. Hold them all close while you still have them.....
It almost feels like I’m in your beautiful home, listening to soft Christmas music and sipping on hot tea. Thank you for sharing, Scott. Merry Christmas.
I really love and appreciate your Christmas decorations...it lends to peace, love, and thankfulness. It's all so very beautiful, Scott!! What a breath of fresh air!
BEAUTIFUL!! And we loved the accompanying music! "In the Bleak Midwinter" was lovely! The addition of Fibber Magee and Molly during the war was perfect! I will be watching again - very relaxing at a stressful time of year!
Incredibly beautiful 🎄❤️🎄 poignant heartfelt Christmas memories of our relatives that aren’t with us anymore as i gaze at your beautiful decorations! Watching your videos Scott gives me so much joy. Merry Christmas to you and yours.🎄🙏🎄
Oh Scott, you have made your lovely little bungalow into a glamorous beauty, ready to welcome the most proper of the social classes to the sweetest of little children, who could be in awe of a true, rare Christmas spirit! Oh my, is it ever alive in your lovely home. While glamorous and gorgeous, it is also warm, cozy and welcoming with just all the right elements to make one know that Santa truly exists…as does the Christ Child…and maybe, in some magical, wonderful way, they are connected by the beautiful spirit of love… Wishing you the love and joy of the season and whoever gets to spend a lovely, loving and magical Christmas Eve with you is very blessed indeed. ❤️🌟🕊️🎄
Merry Christmas Scott. Thank you for inviting us into the most beautifully decorated 1925 bungalow. What an absolute pleasure to see your gorgeous cosy vintage home. All the best this Christmas season. Much love from the UK 🇬🇧 🎄
Oh Scott I just love all of your vintage decorations! The new ones today just don’t do it for me. And you do such a beautiful job of styling them in just the right way!
Connecticut girl here...was curious to see if your clock was from New Haven. Love your site, your house, learning anything you're talking about. Thanks for all the hours.
Well Scott it was such a treat to watch and see all the glorious decor....as I was watching you I thought to myself how cozy it would be to be at your home for a visit over the holidays...just to see and hear the stories you could tell. You certainly have some special pieces of decor that hold memories for you I'm sure. Thanks again Scott...Merry Christmas!❤😊
Scott, just beautiful! Not only your home, but your video production is very professional. Well done! Merry Christmas! Enjoy the time with your family and friends!
The candelabra bulbs shaped like flames with red bodies and yellow tops are the exact type that were in my childhood home windows in the 1970's. Nice memories. 😊
Anyone remember the tree lights that were clear candles filled with colored liquid that bubbled when they warmed up after being lit? Those were amazing.
I love your 1925 bungalow all decorated for Christmas! I grew up in the 50s and 60s, and your house reminds me so much of my grandparents’ home, although I believe there’s was a bit older. Merry Christmas!
Hi Scott, everything you do in your beloved bungalow is so touching to me. I love your home. It’s done with such love! Merry Christmas to you! I too love the 1920s and decorate as much as I can accordingly….!💕💕
Thank you Scott. This brings so much joy & peace. It takes me back to the 1920 bungalow where I grew up on the east coast over 75 years ago. With each passing year those memories become more precious. Your videos take me back and inspire me to find ways to bring bits of that warmth into my current, very different home. Merry Christmas and thank you.
“In the bleak midwinter Frosty wind made moan…” Dear Scott, Your 1925 bungalow is absolutely stunning! I thoroughly enjoyed this Christmas tour! I will watch this video everyday through Christmas Day! Your home belongs in a magazine and your videography and music selections are very professional. I’d love to see the view your neighbors have of your bay windows! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for this sentimental journey at Christmas time!❤🎄❤️
I used to pull out all my bits and baubles and enjoy a solitary evening of Christmas decorating like this. The last few years I haven't been able to, so Thank You for this! Hopefully by this time next year I'll be able to again. Merry Christmas! ❤
The house looks great, I really love your star treetop, & the nativity. Very cosy and welcoming. I was surprised you didn't show your other rooms, especially that wonderful kitchen! So many decorate their bedrooms & baths too I thought you would. But it's all lovely. Merry Christmas Scott!
My second favorite video. My favorite was that old pipe organ. As an ex floral designer, I've always called the green coated wire, floral wire. Un dusting. 😊 Thank you for the warm fuzzys. 🎄 ❤
Perfection. Decor, editing, narration masterful. Your passion for collecting and decorating is impressive. You should branch out into interior or set design.
Scott, what a marvelous job you did on decorating the 1925 bungalow for Christmas 🎄. Wonderful presentation as well. Your home is like stepping back in time, and I appreciate you sharing it with us. God bless you and your family during this Christmas season and always.🎄🕊️❤️
Lovely and nostalgic - so warm, cosy, and inviting! The perfect place to sit with a mug of hot chocolate and a plate of pfefferneusse cookies while reading “A Christmas Carol”. Thank you for sharing your lovely Christmas home with us.
Thank you so much Scott. You don't know how much I needed this right now. The wartime radio message was perfect as well. God Bless you always and I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas 💚
Your video is an absolute treat! How wonderful it must feel to sit in the glow of all the beautiful lights, looking about at the now unique Christmas decorations. Very well done, my friend 💚❤
There is such a touch of elegance in your warm and inviting video - inspiring and comforting. The ambient music you chose, the radio message calling for peace, the soft lighting put it over the top and had my heart weeping, hoping again for a future time when humanity finally comes together . . . . co-creation in empathy, love and peace. Wouldn't that be joyous? 🥲 ..... thanks for sharing with us 🕯🙏
Dear Scott, Thank you for your memorable, sincere, and most beautiful gift. Please plan to repeat this gift every year at Christmas. New and old viewers alike will appreciate it. Merry Christmas to you as well.
All white, tiny “bee” lights became popular in the late 70’s. Prior to that multi-colored lights were de rigueur. I prefer the multi-colored bulbs but flashing lights trigger me. The “slow-glow” setting is nice.
Watching the Christmas decoration of the 1925 Bungalow is like getting a Christmas card. All your decorations fill the heart with merriment and nostalgia.
Perfectly stated 😊
Beautiful video. Thank you for mentioning the Reason for the season too. Love your videos!😊

Oh, isn’t ‘gentle joy’ a lovely way to describe Scott? You hit it on the head.

So well said.
Beautiful enough to be a magazine editorial layout
Great decorations. Seeing the box of silver foil tinsel reminded me that I use to put the tinsel on my train tracks to make it spark.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Like being in a time capsule, thank you!
Love all your unique vintage Christmas! Your home is so welcoming and cozy you just need a kitten to keep you company. Merry Christmas Scott TFS❣️🌲🎅🏼
Your love of the past is revealed, and it is beautiful.
The essence of Christmas past and peace
Thank you for allowing us into your home, it’s been a privilege. You have surrounded yourself with truly beautiful things. God bless you. ❤
The colored lights are so much more festive than white lights, in my opinion, Scott. Thanks for this relaxing video.
All white, tiny “bee” lights became popular in the late 70’s. Prior to that multi-colored lights were de rigueur. I prefer the multi-colored bulbs but flashing lights trigger me. The “slow-glow” setting is nice.
