Simon giving Matty O the shout out in the video is really lovely considering a few days later Matt would go on to win the MVP Open. Great recognizing great.
Simon is probably the only sport athlete I know today that just exudes, hey I play a sport I love, Im having fun, and hope you are enjoying the show. Its easy to see why he and Matty O are heads and shoulders above most of the others.
I am 59 years old, and pretty new to disc golf. Where has this been all my life? And Simon Lizotte is possibly my favorite pro athlete of all time. He is entertaining because he is so authentic. Simon is unique.
you guys are putting out some great content lately!!! this is a great chat. i almost said interview but this was definitely not an interview. keep up the great content!!
One idea I have about filming an event, or at least presenting them, is to have a mini overhead view of the hole on the side of the screen and have the disc represented by a small dot on the mini-map as it flies. Really help give a visualization of what's going on and be able to see where players land in relation to eachother.
A Simon Lizotte Disc Golf course with a Micro Brew as a destination for vacation would be the best thing ever. Build some places to stay and do a "Stay & Play" package and he'll make up the building cost in no time. Simon's still has so much untapped potential in marketing. Great interview!
I hope this guys dreams of course ownership come true soon. That sounds so incredible having a course and microbrewery both heavily influenced by simon. I’d fly out!
I agree about media coverage. I think new courses need to be designed to accommodate galleries and have multiple camera locations on each hole. For so long we (disc golfers and disc golf clubs) were happy to get any land donated to build a course. Time has come to be more selective in where and how we build a course that will be considered for use on the Tour.
The question was ... "Who throws the most creative lines on tour right now (other than Simon)?" How did Simon not say Eagle?!? That was the first name that came to my mind ... actually the only name that came to mind. Eagle picks lines and throws during tourneys attempted by no one else almost as much as Simon.
Love simons takes. He was my top favorite for years, still always root for him i just love matty O and Conrad so its hard to decide! Also id absolutely love to have some simon lizotte brewery and some double G jerky
Hi Simon, I work at a top 100 brewery in the World, Amager Bryghus, Avery was there 2 times. Im a disc golfer, and if your opening a brewery I´m interrested !!! keep beeing you , chears
Just gonna say there is 77acres up here in North Georgia that may get flipped from a wooded agriculture zones property to a high density subdivision that would lay out well for a new course. 15/20 minutes from 3 different courses.
I think the only time to run up on a throw is the drive from the tee pad. Every throw thereafter should be a stand still from your lie. This would eliminate foot faults and it's just like regular golf where you get to use a tee on the tee pad, hence the name.
Some proofreading of your subtitles before uploading wouldn't go astray. In my view, what's currently hurting disc golf is DGN's diabolically blocky 480p20 coverage cynically being sold as 1080p60. I think the future will not be kind to DGN.
Hey same mindset! My name is Simon n im.a crush boy thru n Thursday! Simon my man! Love u bro! The mvp fact is 30min from my town n lots of fun course around! Love u Simon n really doesn't matter what ur throwing! U could show up to workds n decide to throw a specialized garbage can lid and guarantee ur taking the podium!! Love u simon and the lizotte family!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!🎉
For real, you have this disingenuous “grow the sport” from the manufacturers, when they really mean “grow our profit margins” lol. The courses around me are improving drastically, but it’s because of volunteers and tax dollars, not the disc companies…..
Like #383 You're one of my favs Simon. I agree there has to be a better way to film disc golf to bring it to a wider audience. Hopefully someday that can get figured out. Glad to see bigger sponsors coming to the sport every year like Barbasol. Maybe someday Simon will get paid like Tiger!
The Disc Golf World and Simon Lizotte: Here's something else disc golf needs. I invented and tested a device, the "disc whip", for flinging golf discs and flying rings farther than we can throw them. I made a 70 min video about it, giving it an epic, corny, fictitious back story plot. It's on TH-cam in 6 parts, beginning with, "Disc Whip Invented By Paul Marostica Part 1". If you like it, maybe you could give it a mention.
After the last MVP open I think we need a change to how the crowds are handled, especially on lead card. It was a free for all on Sunday, and NOT for lack of trying by the tournament staff. They did the best they could, but people were running up and down fairways, standing on the edge of circle one with people throwing into the green. I know Simon had to ask a dude to stop moving at one point. Felt so bad for all the players on lead card who had to deal with it. They all played fairly bad after hole 1 and I wonder if it was tilting seeing all the people scrambling through the woods everywhere.
Someday I'd like to ask a pro--"in the long run, does the 'par number' actually matter? The only number that matters is the final score(unless you are that insecure about the number of boogies/birdies/pars/other that you card)???
In Simon's case DD3, but of course DD3 "is" Destroyer. In that logic all overstable midranges are Buzzz OS and all overstable approach discs are Zones and all overstable putters are Pigs and all straight fairways are Eagle and so on. So you probably bag a lot of Innova discs with some Discraft discs like everyone else. Of course manufacturers make type of discs that are popular and what their team players need and want. I just don't understand why MVP didn't do this before unless they had a plan this will be used as leverage to get elite level pro to the team. It would be dumb not to make destroyers, eagles, zones, buzzz's, buzzz OS's etc.
I would love to see an 18 hole, stadium course. Where every hole can be packed with spectators like hole 16 at the Phoenix open in ball golf. Even if every hole is a part 3.
Bad idea to standardize baskets or teepads. In fact, there should be variety of different kinds of targets in the game. Then a valid target could be e.g. a hole in a wall or something really creative. No need to limit anyone's creativity. And teepads... the same thing. Some teepads could engourage throwing stationary or they could be uneven just to make things more difficult. Standardization would limit the possibility of different teeing places. Like, e.g., trees or structures. Also the surface can't be standardized so that it works in every environment. But what comes to the current rectangle like teepad... it's not optimal. It's never aligned correctly, especially for lefties. A round teepad, or a triangle with cut tip, would be better.
HA, I keep telling people if I win the lottery that I'm buying land to put my house on and build a disc golf course in the backyard. My plan was to invite Nate Sexton to help design it though (sorry, not sorry).
I think people have the know how to make the filming and prodcasting of disc golf better but do not want to spend the amount of money it would take to do it .
Won't be long till disc golf becomes an arena event with mechanically adjustable courses to accomodate the widest crowd possible. Shotgun format, fancy halftime shows, billions of oil money from Saudi Arabia.
Player throwing the most Unique Lines = Scott Stokley I find him to be one of the absolute most entertaining players to watch because almost every single hole he's approaching differently to the rest of the field. (Caveat - he wasn't really "on tour" this year in the states, but in europe) th-cam.com/video/_vhvO1dD94M/w-d-xo.html Watch his Pro Forester rounds from this year against McBeth
No matter the question, format, or intent, Simon is always honest in his answers. We all love Simon
This is one of the best Simon interviews ever. Nice job

I can think of a few. Simon is so active on SM and such a great hype man he's leading that pack.
@@ethanbrinkman3401How 'BOUT them COWBOYS?!?!?!?
@@andyfessler8992 I'm a falcons fan but sure
Matty-O is not even close to Simon lol
There is not a better guy to live out all of our disc golf dreams! I love it! I can't wait to visit this brewery he speaks of in the future!
I am 59 years old, and pretty new to disc golf. Where has this been all my life? And Simon Lizotte is possibly my favorite pro athlete of all time. He is entertaining because he is so authentic. Simon is unique.
There are so many good ones in this bunch. It's truly something special.
Weekly recaps + these quick interviews with great questions is a great combo. Great job
A MAN OF THE PEOPLE!!! Simon is and will always be the best personality in disc golf.
This was so wholesome and genuine. Absolutely love it

great video! thanks, Simon always so honest and insightful
Once there’s a Simon-designed course with a microbrewery on site, the plans for my next vacation are LOCKED.
Ok great format, great interview. Take my subscription. Looking forward to more.
Really enjoyed this. And great meeting you two at hole 8!
This was fantastic. More like this one!
Amazing growth for you guys - what was your chance of getting an interview with Simon 6month ago?! Good for you.
A Simon Lizotte Disc Golf course with a Micro Brew as a destination for vacation would be the best thing ever. Build some places to stay and do a "Stay & Play" package and he'll make up the building cost in no time. Simon's still has so much untapped potential in marketing. Great interview!

Great interview of my favorite Disc Pro.

Sounding like ball golf all over again
First F bomb I’ve ever heard from Simon lol
Great answers. As for courses: shorter, more technical with at least two reasonable lines to every basket.
Great interview. Interesting take on filming events and pros buying property and building courses.
Great interview. One of your best videos.
The question was ... "Who throws the most creative lines on tour right now (other than Simon)?"
How did Simon not say Eagle?!? That was the first name that came to my mind ... actually the only name that came to mind. Eagle picks lines and throws during tourneys attempted by no one else almost as much as Simon.
I agree... just watch beaver state fling or 2021 LVC if you don't believe it
Gannon is the name that came to my mind. They put a mando in just for him.
Agree, even Alden
eagle and gannon come to my mind.
Kevin jones, Scott stokely, chandler kramer. My two cents.
That's the dream. Alot of land for to build your own pro disc golf course, a house and your own brewery. Simon knows whats up
i would definitley hit a brewery / disc golf course.. those are 2 of my favorite things lol
Great format / questions !
Excellent interview, thank you!

This is great, guys. Congrats
great interview great questions
is there a way to get the picture at the end of the vid? it's very pretty
Matty O was my guy on that question also!
Definitely The coolest Disc Golf Professional and @simon when you build your course I'm staying for a week!!!🎉
Great interview
Great idea interviewing players, great questions, and you picked the best guy to kick it off! Who’s next Matty O.?
Drone flight following is one way to make disc golf media amazing.

Simon is the best person in Disc Golf!!!!!

Once I get one of those Timelapse’s I’m going to say SIMONLINE every shot even if it’s a wide open hyzer
Thats lame af
Need a Simon lizotte course and brewery
I like the idea of purpose built private courses. Instead of the players paying for them I like the idea of the manufacture's doing it.
For real, you have this disingenuous “grow the sport” from the manufacturers, when they really mean “grow our profit margins” lol. The courses around me are improving drastically, but it’s because of volunteers and tax dollars, not the disc companies…..

Welcome to Estonia sticker, nice! Albert lezz goo
Nice callout of Matty O!
Filming; use the drones more! Look what MDG Media did this year. Actually showing throws with drones following the disc.
I have a 2 year old.. Definitely hear you on Ms. Rachel
man i hope all that you said comes true. would be so cool.
Drones would be the best way to film coverage especially in wooded fairway
New item on my bucket list: go to the Simon lizotte brewery and disc golf course.
That mic is not on, is it? 😅
And upside down for some reason 🤔
@@leffernan That doesn't have to be an issue with a lavalier mic, but you have to turn it on 😅

Matty-O is probably my favorite dude on tour
what a great video
Who throws the most creative lines? Jake Wolff. No one else is throwing his lines.
Someday I'd like to ask a pro--"in the long run, does the 'par number' actually matter? The only number that matters is the final score(unless you are that insecure about the number of boogies/birdies/pars/other that you card)???
Drones are the future for filming
from a german standpoint his beer opinions are not tolerable
Jake wolfff has the most creative lines
It's easy to see why Simon is the most popular disc golfer.
he can't say "it's a Destroyer", but we all know
In Simon's case DD3, but of course DD3 "is" Destroyer. In that logic all overstable midranges are Buzzz OS and all overstable approach discs are Zones and all overstable putters are Pigs and all straight fairways are Eagle and so on.

It would be dumb not to make destroyers, eagles, zones, buzzz's, buzzz OS's etc.
It's way more stable
I would love to see an 18 hole, stadium course. Where every hole can be packed with spectators like hole 16 at the Phoenix open in ball golf. Even if every hole is a part 3.
Wow that would be dumb
Did he intentionally not say Eagle for farthest throwers and most creative line throwers? He is the most obvious answer for both hands down
Simon line IPA. sign me up
why is back there "welcome to estonia" :D ?
Albert Tamm’s camper, maybe?
Creative lines: Kevin Smith
Somebody tell Simon,
If you build it they will come
What was the ice cream flavor??? hahaha
Really good questions. I feel like I better know how Simon's brain works now
Jack Wolf!!
Left out AB😂. He out drove Lil Wiggy by 50 ft at USDGC.
100% agree on the stupid clothing
Basically anything GG and Nikko wear....
Zillertaler Schwarzes is a good beer🙂

Go pro tree cams on fairways
What's wrong with the way disc golf is filmed now? I loooove the way Jomez does it.
I think people have the know how to make the filming and prodcasting of disc golf better but do not want to spend the amount of money it would take to do it .
his mic definitely was not working
That’s not a mic. It’s his Ironman suit button

Kev Jones the other most creative player
A disc golf course designed by Simon, with a craft brewery owned by Simon. Who do I send money to?
Player throwing the most Unique Lines = Scott Stokley
