A very solid assessment just in my opinion. I think Obsidian is a little better than people give it credit for so it was nice to see it get a little bit of love from an investment standpoint as the ETB is lovely. Prismatic looks all of that and more right now - we will have to see but it could be immense. The FOMO is strong with this one.............thanks Beard, great video and you have made me happy as you referred to a lot of products that are in my sealed collection so hopefully we have called it right and in time they will become strong performers. Although sadly as a collector i dont like letting things go. I know, I know.
Surging sparks will maybe the most succesful investment in the long run because it will be in the shadows of prismatic and underrated from the beginning

@@PokeBeardTCG not a fan of S&V base, the only cards I like in that set is the gardevoir line and the great tusk ex and I guess the Riolu is cool…not a fan of the miraidon or the koraidon…Obsidian got the Charizard which in my opinion is underrated and they also got an super underrated Ninetails. They got a few other fire cards like cleffa, houndour, scizor, lechonk and gloom…as for shrouded that houndoom and Persian are 🔥🔥 super underrated and I also like the cufant, and the Cassiopeia…even the munkidori IR in the trees is nicer then most the cards in S&V base in my opinion lol
@PokeTroy1 Base has drowzee, slowpoke, riolu, ralts, kirlia, dondonzo, tarantula with the scyther that goes with the sir and double the amount of irs as Obsidian and shrouded. Im just guessing you just don't like gen 9 pokemon too much?

Paldean Fates is one of my favorites!! I wish Pokémon would do Secret rares after a few months or years. You know, to increase the amount of new cards for "old sets" and make them to circulate more. Printing some booster bundles that have the possibility to pull the new cards they have created and also previous ones.
Restocks are usually around 8:00 a.m. on Pokémon Center website. Start watching the new release page. Refresh it a few hours and see when new items pop up.

I really enjoy these videos! Im a gen 1-4 fan only for the most part. After gen 4 they lost most of their tough looking pokemon to many baby/cute looking pokemon. So with that said im able to invest in these paradox rift and paldea evolved easily becuase i dont have the need wanting to open them! Im storing for the long haul! So Thank You!
I watched a video about the creation of the first Pokemon. One thing they were adamant about was not making any Pokemon look too cool. That's probably why Charizard reigns supreme. He's actually cool, which was most likely a mistake.
Prismatic evolution all day. Some retailers are listing the standard etb already. Getting these now under £50 are a must even if they’re not PC ones. I think £100 even for the standard after 12 months release is almost nailed on.
Some of these sets had better promos than others as well with pre-release, etc. Pokemon center snorlax, charmander are top tier imo also like the pikachu from paldea evolved is very nice to
Just bought a booster box of OBF Twilight Temporal And stellar Temporal is one of my personal favorites as I think it’s definitely top 5 in sets released so far with Paldea being my top set that I have a master collection for!!! So stoked for the future lol!

I’ve always felt 151’s biggest mistake was not giving us a Gengar ex SIR and Dragonite ex SIR/Lapras IR. they didn’t even give Gengar a sir in the set he’s literally featured in. Also shouldve given us new red and blue cards. Imagine a SIR Red or SIR Blue in 151 it woulda been nuclear. Last thing, feel inclined to hate on the surging sparks SIR lineup, giving us Durant and archaludon(which is the worst alt art of all time) over black kyurem and flygon SIRs is a joke
I totally agree and yea that's why I barely mentioned them. But having pikachu, milotic, latias, and exeggutor is a pretty big deal. I definitely wish we would have gotten a flygon.
I think obsidian flames would have been an awesome opportunity for them to make that sets Dragonite ex an SIR. Then again they dropped the ball on Gengar then Flygon and Kyurem 😢

@@PokeBeardTCG yeah for sure the surging sparks sir lineup is imo the best in all of sv so far. I was just speaking in terms of it being slightly better I think kyurem and flygon would’ve been absolutely crazy. I’ll still take a milotic, Pikachu, hydreigon and Latias lineup regardless
From investing standpoint i say to myself, what do my kids (same age as me when it all started) and their friends associate with. And to me that is the gen 9 pokemon. Obviously you have the "mascots" pikachu, charizard, etc, but if looking long term the kids today will most associate with a non-Ash era of pokemon
Temporal is actually one of my favorite sets, I’m not a big fan of the Pokémon in it tbh but the art is so good that it made me want to collect all the SIRs .
There isn't really a bad set to collect or invest. Some obviously will do better or significantly better. Even Steam Siege has done well considering what it was on release.
Paldean fates is unrated I think by everyone. The Obsidian Flames Charizard got me back into pokemon when my son pulled it out of one of his first packs. So I am a lil more biased then some towards that set. Lol
I think prismatic is going to be a banger of a set. It was hard to resist the fomo and not pre order some ETBs but when they restock i think i will pull the trigger. Just scored some Shaymin Vstar boxes at a walmart yeaterday hiding in the back so happy about that score. Unfortunately all my costco have paldean tins not 151 even though i see the 151 boxes for sale all over Fb..
Facts Temp Forces heavily underrated. Crazy artwork and some of the best illustrations we've ever seen. Not the most popular Pokemon but I love this set.
I only disagree with the placement of Temporal because of the low hit rate, anyone who loves Gen 9 and will be chasing those SIR/IRs will rip tons of booster boxes to get their chases, it’s very hard to get a specific SIR in that set and I think that’s gonna help the sealed price Another PokeBeard banger
Prismatic Evolutions.. I'm on the fence for investing .... they have already announced a 9 months release schedule of different items... this is going to be available for a long long time!
My prediction for Prismatic Evolutions is that there will be 2 SIR’s per Eeveelution - 1 tera, and 1 regular form. I’d like to think that the PC would be at least somewhat aware that not everyone likes the crowns, and with it being an Eevee set, provide fans with 2 arts per. That would take care of just over half of the 32 SIR’s in the set and leave an ample amount for other Pokemon and trainers. Paldean Fates has definitely been slept on, but it is bloated with baby shinies. They’re cool, don’t get me wrong. I just think there are way too many.
@@PokeBeardTCG I’m glad you think so, though I may be barking up the wrong tree entirely. It only makes sense to me just because of how popular ES was and how much it’s appreciated in value - with it being out of print, Pokemon Company are not really making any money off of it anymore, just investors and collectors. So it would make sense for them to create new Eeveelution chase cards for a special set that won’t have booster boxes, but a TON of smaller products being drip released throughout next year. And they’d be crazy to only do tera SIR’s for the Eeveelutions, so if they do both, people will absolutely keep throwing money at this set in a bunch of different formats to pull those chase cards. Not to mention all the promo cards they’ll make - if those are also unique arts…
@@ThomDumdust right, seems the pokemon company is steering the market to high margin products at MSRP they distribute directly while avoiding booster boxes, almost like they are in a business to make profit and not speculation like we are doing.

I mean, they do this with every special set 🤷♂️ This one is just particularly interesting to think about as it’s an Eevee-centric set. It doesn’t bother me that they’re doing it this way, it’s a smart move. It was more of a speculation on the content of the massive amount of SIR’s in the set.
I do agree that Obsidian Flames isn´t the best set. But, it´s still a Charizard set and unlike bad Charizard sets, it has a good Charizard chase card. Don´t overlook it.
@MieXuL ill break it down why i like it. Remember this is for long term. 1. First set in pokemon history with silver boarders 2. First set ever with irs and sirs 3. First ever miraidon & koraidon card 4. Miraidon & koraidon are the first legendary pokemon ever that you can use right away in the game that sold more then almost every game. 5. The gardevoir family illustration rare line 6. Most base sets hold great value and this base set is extremely historic and changed pokemon forever with the silver boarders. Even pokemon is all done with ash, and this is the first generation ever where they went super hard with the new pokemon for almost every set.

I usually have some things to open when my gf comes over, and I just got some paldean fates tins so we opened one up and out of our two packs we got a Bubble Mew and a baby shiney Sneasel. First time opening up Paldean fates. We might need to open up the rest of the tins now 🤣
The temporal forces art works are just great even tho the Pokémon are the new remakes. I personally like 2 out of the 3 iron variants better than their original
Temp Forces heavily slept on 💯 I disagree with bros take on Temp Forces in this video but to each their own. Personally one of my top 3 favourite sets from SV.
@@PokeBeardTCG iron leaves and iron crown . I never played the games with their originals so I never grew attached to regular cobalion and virizion. The future forms are not super different from the regular ones too unlike the ancient forms

Side note they are all now panic selling them for about $75 .... So less than $7.50 a pack. At mine..... walked in Tuesday morning, saw half a pallet of mixed 151 and PF . ME and another guy grabbed 6 boxes or 3 complete sets of 151 and 1 set of PF. Glad I dont go to "those" COSTCO's.
I love how universally shrouded fable is considered the worst set. From how stellar crown came out like 4 weeks after it to just very mediocre cards in general other than the Persian it’s meme-esque
Temporal forces is way too low, they have the legendary dogs idc if they're different forms theyre still nostalgic to people including myself who grew up with gold /silver games and the show
@MohammedAbdullah-ir9gn They're actually cats, and they are literally my favorite pokemon, and these designs drive me nuts. I have every suicune card ever to exist. And then for irs, they pretty much just have gastly. Which stellar bulbusaur and squirtle destroy that. It's also a way smaller set than paradox and paldea.
@@PokeBeardTCG we called them dogs back in my day. I just got back into collecting and I think they look great. I'm glad the boxes aren't expensive but I would of bought them even if they were going for 200 just due to nostalgia. I'm sure I wont be the only one to do this in the future.

I like the list but for me surging sparks is decent and twilight is in best s&v base for me is 2nd worst. After looking at the surging sparks cards, I don’t understand the hype around it except the pikachu….remember how super hyped vivid was? Not comparing it to vivid, shrouded fable beats vivid. Just saying as far as all the sets in scarlet violet this particular set gives me vivid vibes. Get rid of the pikachus alone and this sets popularity isn’t there.Without seeing prismatic evolutions to this point, Greninja is the sv moonbreon based on popularity and super tough pull rate. For me with surging sparks, I pull the pikachu sir and I’m off stacking my budget for prismatic.

@lKINGl I love when people argue that rift isn't one of the best. It shows you haven't been in the hobby very long or missed the entire middle part like most people. Because having cards like golisopod, tapu koko, and altaria are massive. Of course if you didn't collect or play the game at those times you wouldn't care about those pokemon. The sets that have more cards that people want do better. So your only reason that temporal is better is because the sirs have a little more value?? Couldn't have anything to do with their playability at all? Like I already said.. also paradox is older and has had many cards shoot up. You do know paradox actually has way more value if you add up all the cards and the 2nd best ir in the entire era. There is a reason why every big pokemon youtuber likes paradox the most. Even ctr, opossum bud, mystic, rob, vault, oz. Literally, so many people with crazy knowledge think rift is the best set. Walking wake, gouging fire, and iron boulder are terrible art. Bolt, leaves, and crown are beautiful but bolt is a terrible design. But again, the value doesn't matter at all when the cards are super playable compared to paradox.
@ you know what I’ll give you that! I think it’s the nostalgic part of it is what’s driving it for me as I grew up with the dogs. I have no idea about anything from paradox expect Salamance and Groudon. Salamance isn’t as nice to me so only Groudon stands out from the set to ME. Guess I’m just biased I’ll give you that.

Just think of the millions of kids that played sv for their first pokemon game. You don't think they will want to come back down the road and get the first ever miradion and koraidon which happens to be beautiful special illustration rares. Even Toyota or something made a life size miraidon that you can drive.

Sv is first set ever with silver boarders, first set with irs, first set ever with sirs and has both mascots of a game where the first time ever you get a legendary right at the start of the game. I really enjoy these videos! Im a gen 1-4 fan only for the most part. After gen 4 they lost most of their tough looking pokemon to many baby/cute looking pokemon. So with that said im able to invest in these paradox rift and paldea evolved easily becuase i dont have the need wanting to open them! Im storing for the long haul! So Thank You!
It don't get much tougher then roaring moon, iron valiant, and golisopod in paradox though. Toughest sirs in the whole era
I watched a video about the creation of the first Pokemon. One thing they were adamant about was not making any Pokemon look too cool. That's probably why Charizard reigns supreme. He's actually cool, which was most likely a mistake.
Prismatic evolution all day. Some retailers are listing the standard etb already. Getting these now under £50 are a must even if they’re not PC ones. I think £100 even for the standard after 12 months release is almost nailed on.

Some of these sets had better promos than others as well with pre-release, etc. Pokemon center snorlax, charmander are top tier imo also like the pikachu from paldea evolved is very nice to

I’ve always felt 151’s biggest mistake was not giving us a Gengar ex SIR and Dragonite ex SIR/Lapras IR. they didn’t even give Gengar a sir in the set he’s literally featured in. Also shouldve given us new red and blue cards. Imagine a SIR Red or SIR Blue in 151 it woulda been nuclear. Last thing, feel inclined to hate on the surging sparks SIR lineup, giving us Durant and archaludon(which is the worst alt art of all time) over black kyurem and flygon SIRs is a joke

I totally agree and yea that's why I barely mentioned them. But having pikachu, milotic, latias, and exeggutor is a pretty big deal. I definitely wish we would have gotten a flygon.
I think obsidian flames would have been an awesome opportunity for them to make that sets Dragonite ex an SIR. Then again they dropped the ball on Gengar then Flygon and Kyurem 😢

@@PokeBeardTCG yeah for sure the surging sparks sir lineup is imo the best in all of sv so far. I was just speaking in terms of it being slightly better I think kyurem and flygon would’ve been absolutely crazy. I’ll still take a milotic, Pikachu, hydreigon and Latias lineup regardless

From investing standpoint i say to myself, what do my kids (same age as me when it all started) and their friends associate with. And to me that is the gen 9 pokemon. Obviously you have the "mascots" pikachu, charizard, etc, but if looking long term the kids today will most associate with a non-Ash era of pokemon

You might be right about everything here, but Temporal Forces with the SIR remakes are some of my favorite SV cards.

There isn't really a bad set to collect or invest. Some obviously will do better or significantly better. Even Steam Siege has done well considering what it was on release.

Paldean fates is unrated I think by everyone. The Obsidian Flames Charizard got me back into pokemon when my son pulled it out of one of his first packs. So I am a lil more biased then some towards that set. Lol

I think prismatic is going to be a banger of a set. It was hard to resist the fomo and not pre order some ETBs but when they restock i think i will pull the trigger. Just scored some Shaymin Vstar boxes at a walmart yeaterday hiding in the back so happy about that score. Unfortunately all my costco have paldean tins not 151 even though i see the 151 boxes for sale all over Fb..
Obsidian flames has easy pull rates and a lot of charizards. Singles prices are low but the fun factor is there. Can’t be the worst

Facts Temp Forces heavily underrated. Crazy artwork and some of the best illustrations we've ever seen. Not the most popular Pokemon but I love this set.
I bought a case of PF PC ETB’s and two TF bb’s last week. We are on the same page 👍
I only disagree with the placement of Temporal because of the low hit rate, anyone who loves Gen 9 and will be chasing those SIR/IRs will rip tons of booster boxes to get their chases, it’s very hard to get a specific SIR in that set and I think that’s gonna help the sealed price

Prismatic Evolutions.. I'm on the fence for investing .... they have already announced a 9 months release schedule of different items... this is going to be available for a long long time!

My prediction for Prismatic Evolutions is that there will be 2 SIR’s per Eeveelution - 1 tera, and 1 regular form.
I’d like to think that the PC would be at least somewhat aware that not everyone likes the crowns, and with it being an Eevee set, provide fans with 2 arts per.
That would take care of just over half of the 32 SIR’s in the set and leave an ample amount for other Pokemon and trainers.
Paldean Fates has definitely been slept on, but it is bloated with baby shinies.
They’re cool, don’t get me wrong. I just think there are way too many.
That makes a ton of sense.

It only makes sense to me just because of how popular ES was and how much it’s appreciated in value - with it being out of print, Pokemon Company are not really making any money off of it anymore, just investors and collectors.
So it would make sense for them to create new Eeveelution chase cards for a special set that won’t have booster boxes, but a TON of smaller products being drip released throughout next year.
And they’d be crazy to only do tera SIR’s for the Eeveelutions, so if they do both, people will absolutely keep throwing money at this set in a bunch of different formats to pull those chase cards.
Not to mention all the promo cards they’ll make - if those are also unique arts…
@@ThomDumdust right, seems the pokemon company is steering the market to high margin products at MSRP they distribute directly while avoiding booster boxes, almost like they are in a business to make profit and not speculation like we are doing.

I do agree that Obsidian Flames isn´t the best set. But, it´s still a Charizard set and unlike bad Charizard sets, it has a good Charizard chase card. Don´t overlook it.

Most of the time i agree with you pokebeard. I just dont see it with s&v base set. I just looked at the card list and i dont see it.

1. First set in pokemon history with silver boarders
2. First set ever with irs and sirs
3. First ever miraidon & koraidon card
4. Miraidon & koraidon are the first legendary pokemon ever that you can use right away in the game that sold more then almost every game.
5. The gardevoir family illustration rare line
6. Most base sets hold great value and this base set is extremely historic and changed pokemon forever with the silver boarders.
Even pokemon is all done with ash, and this is the first generation ever where they went super hard with the new pokemon for almost every set.

The temporal forces art works are just great even tho the Pokémon are the new remakes. I personally like 2 out of the 3 iron variants better than their original

@@PokeBeardTCG iron leaves and iron crown . I never played the games with their originals so I never grew attached to regular cobalion and virizion. The future forms are not super different from the regular ones too unlike the ancient forms

Has anyone see the absolute carnage at Cotsco right now?? People acting like animals scalping pallets of 151 tins?? Like holy crap.
Side note they are all now panic selling them for about $75 .... So less than $7.50 a pack. At mine..... walked in Tuesday morning, saw half a pallet of mixed 151 and PF . ME and another guy grabbed 6 boxes or 3 complete sets of 151 and 1 set of PF. Glad I dont go to "those" COSTCO's.

@MohammedAbdullah-ir9gn They're actually cats, and they are literally my favorite pokemon, and these designs drive me nuts. I have every suicune card ever to exist. And then for irs, they pretty much just have gastly. Which stellar bulbusaur and squirtle destroy that. It's also a way smaller set than paradox and paldea.
@@PokeBeardTCG we called them dogs back in my day. I just got back into collecting and I think they look great. I'm glad the boxes aren't expensive but I would of bought them even if they were going for 200 just due to nostalgia. I'm sure I wont be the only one to do this in the future.

I like the list but for me surging sparks is decent and twilight is in best s&v base for me is 2nd worst. After looking at the surging sparks cards, I don’t understand the hype around it except the pikachu….remember how super hyped vivid was? Better than vivid,but in scarlet violet terms it’s similar-ish. In sealed terms I dunno, I can’t keep stuff sealed if my life depended on it, way to curious on what’s inside lol I have a couple Pokemon center etb’s coming I intend to keep sealed, prob won’t last as soon as I get them 😂😂😂

Please never bring up vivid as an example. Its the worst take in all of pokemon. Did you even watch the full video? Vivid came out super early and was the best set in swsh at the time. We then got alt arts which made the prior sets look like garbage. Were already pretty far in sv era to where that wont happen. I dont understand how you guys dont get this. Do you know how popular latias is? Do you know how popular milotic is? Do you know how popular hydreigon is? Do you know how popular pikachu is? Now go look at all the sets and then tell me what other set besides 151 has more popular pokemon as sirs.

Would hope to pull latios, latias, pikachu gold, maybe milotic but that’s about it and form what I see so far in videos….pull rates as far as opening pack is brutal, we shall see. Not comparing it to vivid, shrouded fable beats vivid. Just saying as far as all the sets in scarlet violet this particular set gives me vivid vibes. Get rid of the pikachus alone and this sets popularity isn’t there.Without seeing prismatic evolutions to this point, Greninja is the sv moonbreon based on popularity and super tough pull rate. For me with surging sparks, I pull the pikachu sir and I’m off stacking my budget for prismatic.

Especially most people could care less about the trainers. They're just super playable. Surging has pikachu, latias, milotic, hydreigon, exeggutor, and lisias appeal. Get rid of the pikachu and it still has more popular chases than almost every sv set.
i bought a bunch of fable just because the set besides one or two cards is dog s... lol. i think its the first set where ive been like yeah i have about 12 different things of sealed product from it but theres no temptation or desire for me to open it.

@clarke451 people just don't care about gold full arts. I can just tell by your list you only really like the older pokemon. Am I right? I tried to do this list without my nostalgia and actually went by the best set as a whole.

You do realize paldea is the same as 151 having all the starters in sirs and irs and then imagine having a sir of zapdos, articuno, moltres, and mewtwo. That's what paldea has, but just gen 9. And triple the amount of irs including magikarp, raichu, tyranitar and heracross

If they were the original pokemon then yes it would beat paradox. Even the reason they are more valuable is because there way more playable right now. So paradox has more irs, more sirs, better irs, and way better variety of sirs. Those are all facts that can't be argued. So please actually explain why you think forces is better.

@lKINGl I love when people argue that rift isn't one of the best. It shows you haven't been in the hobby very long or missed the entire middle part like most people. Because having cards like golisopod, tapu koko, and altaria are massive. Of course if you didn't collect or play the game at those times you wouldn't care about those pokemon. The sets that have more cards that people want do better. So your only reason that temporal is better is because the sirs have a little more value?? Couldn't have anything to do with their playability at all? Like I already said.. also paradox is older and has had many cards shoot up.
You do know paradox actually has way more value if you add up all the cards and the 2nd best ir in the entire era. There is a reason why every big pokemon youtuber likes paradox the most. Even ctr, opossum bud, mystic, rob, vault, oz. Literally, so many people with crazy knowledge think rift is the best set. Walking wake, gouging fire, and iron boulder are terrible art. Bolt, leaves, and crown are beautiful but bolt is a terrible design. But again, the value doesn't matter at all when the cards are super playable compared to paradox.
@ you know what I’ll give you that! I think it’s the nostalgic part of it is what’s driving it for me as I grew up with the dogs. I have no idea about anything from paradox expect Salamance and Groudon. Salamance isn’t as nice to me so only Groudon stands out from the set to ME. Guess I’m just biased I’ll give you that.

Just think of the millions of kids that played sv for their first pokemon game. You don't think they will want to come back down the road and get the first ever miradion and koraidon which happens to be beautiful special illustration rares. Even Toyota or something made a life size miraidon that you can drive.

Sv is first set ever with silver boarders, first set with irs, first set ever with sirs and has both mascots of a game where the first time ever you get a legendary right at the start of the game.
