Quick question: love the sleeper Sundays. I’m trying to make more grading plays this upcoming new year, any suggestions on how to get a lot of the same card from tcg or eBay? Or is there another option? Should I be asking for photos of the cards? The whole first part of this video really helps out with what cards to make graded plays on… I’m just unsure how to use this information. Thank you so much again!
That crown zenith giratina vstar is selling out on tcg saw a few 160+ sells. It’s about to shoot up even more I think ppl are just now realizing this might be it .
Been collecting a bunch of that secret rare Gyarados seeing as it is in my opinion one of the best cards to ever exist but I’ve been trying to stock up on that set as well
I have the Gyarados and Mew.. lets be honest there is NO demand for XY era cards. These are great for collecting but not for investments in my humble opinion. Ive been selling off some awesome xy era cards on my ebay and hardly anyone cares to even look at them let alone bid or send offers. If you buy XY era cards make sure you plan on keeping them long-term because these are incredibly tough to sell on ebay due to so few people searching for them.. Not trying to be negative its just if you take up a large position in XY era cards be prepared to have a hard time selling them unless they are the most popular pokemon. I just wanted some extra money for my prismatic pre-orders and thought I would sell some XY cards and boy did I underestimate the very low demand for them.
@@michaeliedon6557Because I think most of the original 90s kids had left pokemon as a hobby by early to mid 2000's. There was a smaller fan base during XY era. Also kids who grew up with XY have not grown old enough yet to be coming back into the hobby with large amounts of money to spend into the XY era sets that for them would be nostalgic, in comparison to the 90s kids who are coming back into the hobby now in their 30s and 40s who are also introducing their kids to the hobby. So I think kids who grew up with XY era are probably mostly in their late teens to mid twenties and haven't come back to the hobby yet. Maybe we will see a resurgence of XY once this generation reaches their 30s in another 5-10 years, but who really knows? Even if that age demographic comes back there is no guarantee enough of them will care about going back to XY specifically. So I just caution people that if you buy a ton of random XY era cards no matter how cool the art is you will find a tough time finding buyers due to extremely low demand.
This is true sadly but I think it’s more of not many where in the hobby at the time so there is no hype for the cards as most people don’t even know what cards are in the set. For me personally no other era has better cards than XY
I think you completely missed the point of the video. This is why they're in the sleeper Sunday video, lol. To show people some amazing underrated cards that if we got today, would be the most expensive cards in the era. This is also how you make a good investment. Investing in things other people aren't talking about. You do also realize both of these cards have doubled in the last year right? I also guarantee if your cards are mint they would sell instantly. Ill buy your mew and gyarados right now if they're mint, but i can almost guarantee they arent. We also have multiple psa 10 and raw sales every day for these cards. A cgc pristine gyarados just sold for $1,100. Same price as the 151 zard one of the most popular cards in the era. I can also name hundreds of cards and sets that people thought would never move and they go crazy.
Definitely want a pair of those collecton boxes from CZ. I know alot of people don't like the collection boxes because of storage space but the box art on some of these is awesome. And I have space. Lol
A suggestion is to leave a picture of cards you check prices on up during the time you scroll through & perhaps have a summary with pictures as some others do already that you can view & jump to at any time as long as it doesn't create to much extra work for you.thanks
I love the xy era. I'm losing money finding cheap sealed and having my wife open going for these cards that you mentioned, or buying sealed collection boxes for the promos. I should just be buying singles beard. This is one of the greatest videos you do. No one else was doing this, and if they are now, theyre not going back to XY, theyre just naming IR's in SS SV. Ive never seen that mew. What a card.
Blessings to you and yours..May you be healthy, kind and happy :) New to the hobby started as an investor, now love the art form...Q is: how do you balance your investor head and collector heart...🎅
I’m considering buying a PSA 8 gold star charizard, as it is a longtime grail of mine since I was a kid during the ex delta species era. Do you think this is a good investment for a 10+ year timeline? Would english or japanese be safer in terms of retaining or gaining value that far in the future? Thanks!
If you want to buy it for your collection then go for it. If you are buying it as a 10 year investment i would look at buying some sealed products instead. The future value of the Charizard will only be determined by future demand because supply is locked. Whereas buying sealed cards, particularly booster boxes, there will be less and less supply over time as more is opened, which will continue pushing the price up and increasing rarity. If you want to own the card then GO FOR IT! 😅
Man, you are so consistent and straight 🔥 with the videos. Thanks to your videos and the wonderful community. I started collecting/investing as of June and played my first TCG game yesterday!

Funny because the XY era is what brought all the 90s kids back to Pokemon in the video games.

Why can't you just watch the video?
Agreed.
Agreed. Helps when I look cards up and don’t have to pause.
Hey bro love the videos! I was wondering what your take was on the latias from surging sparks from an investment point of view ?

Ive never seen that mew. What a card.
Should I just go full send on a case of shrouded fable PC ETBs, or should I go for vivid voltage BBs
Pc etbs
I'm happy I saw this. Gonna pick up some Crown Zenith. Thank you!!
For the algy, nice idea on a video beard!
Fantastic video! Idk if I can wait a month to get these videos
That gyarados is so hard to find in great condition, definitely looking for 1 of these
Happy Christmas & new year pokebeard!
The huge margins from SV Era illustration rares in psa 10 is probably due to the print quality which makes it very unlikely to get a 10
Yep
Love Houndoom i wish that pokemon had a bit more love
