- In this video I take an awesome day ride through the Eastern Missouri Ozarks on my 2024 Kawasaki KLX 300 and find myself along the Current River and on a hidden remote lake deep in the Government Woods...
Thanks for taking us along for the ride sir!
thanks for watching sir... :)
What a great video! Looks like so much fun! I’ll throw in another vote for Quadlock. I destroyed three iPhone cameras using the Xgrip mount. Just too much vibration and the phone can work its way out of the holder. This was awesome, thanks for sharing!
thanks for watching sir :)
wow the country is pristine!
Thanks for watching... :)
Now that was an adventure. Brilliant!
Thanks again sir... :)
Thanks sir... :)
There are some great spots around that area for sure. Nice to tag along.
Thanks for watching... :)
Great ride. I just lost my phone using the same holder. Only no idea exactly where, gave up looking after going back several miles. Going to get a quad lock.
Another awesome video. Thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks for watching sir... :)
Another great adventure. Thanks for the tour 😁
Thanks Doc... good to hear from you... :)
Another great video, Jon! With the days getting shorter and cooler, I'll have to cut you some slack on trailering the bike. Don't blame you there. Always a good meal to be found in Eminence, too! Looking forward to the next one, keep up the good work!
Thank you again, makes me homesick (Rolla). Can't find little back roads like that in "rural" New York. Often canoed the Current out of Eminence.
great to hear from you sir, you should come home for a visit... thanks for watching... :)
Inspiring! Thanks!
Thanks for watching sir... :)
enjoyed your video! Quadlock is a much better phone mount.
Greetings John, Nice ADV gear set up. You ought to install a lanyard to your phone so that it don't fall all the way to the ground. It can save some $. Nice adventure trail and drone shots👍. You got me hungry mentioning those fast food restaurant menu at the end. Thanks for sharing and taking me along. BTW, ONLY Harley rider trailer their bike🙂
Beautiful scenery, John, and I like to go for some crunchy Tater Tots if they're available 😋 enjoyed the video and thanks for sharing and RIDE SAFE OUT THERE!
Thanks for watching again sir... :)
Looks like a great place to ride! It's not a true OB adventure if you don't hear, "I didn't die or nothin'" 😆
Great to hear from you sir, you got a 2 for 1 on this video... I didn't die or nothin twice... thanks for watching... :)
Three of us stayed in Eminence last week and rode in the area between there and Bixby. I really want to go back. We rode some great roads.
Good to hear from you sir... yes that area is awesome for sure... I would go up there every day if I could... thanks for watching... :)
@@ozarksbackroads5484 I wanted to stay longer. I watched another of your videos and saw some of the area we rode. There are some great places to eat around the area too.
That was a nice ride. Beautiful day. Kayaking on the river looked pretty good too. I like that KLX 300; You have it decked out nice, and it's so quiet. Your new helmet looks good. If you still have your previous cell phone, you can put it in the X-clamp and tether it to your good phone in your chest pocket. (I saw a rider in Europe doing that.) Keep the good cell phone on you and use it as a hotspot for the other one to provide the map.
Good to hear from you sir, yes I use my rugged phone on my good phones hot spot for offline and online maps... thanks for watching.. :)
Had the same trouble with the x grip myself. Went to the claw mount, much happier with it for the rougher stuff. And wow, you found some dandy roads this day. I'm really enjoying your channel and makes me wish I didn't live on the northern end. Lol
Great to hear from you sir... I will give that claw mount a look... thanks for watching... keep safe out there... :)
Nice video👍
Thanks for watching sir... :)

What's funny is I have an ibex and a klx as well and ride the Ozarks quite a bit would love to get together sometime and ride
@CANYONOVERLAND great to hear from you sir.. would love to go for a ride sometime... thanks for watching... :)
John, love your videos! The Ozarks are amazing. Would love to join you for a ride sometime. I live in Northwest Arkansas.
Good to hear from you sir, I am planning on being in Jasper this week to do some video if you want to come along... I will be on my Tiger for this one... thanks for watching... :)
Nice ride , thanks ! I did kinda want onion rings though hahahah...
Looks like you have a little bit of Indiana Jones in you, great adventure !!!
Great to hear from you sir, the difference between Jones and myself is that in the end Jones gets to take home the girl while I get to take home a filthy bike.... thanks for watching... :)
Watching from California. I also have a KLX300d as well as a Husky FE501s. I do a lot of what you do, explore. With all of the fires our local mountains are going to be off limits for the next year. Luckily, I have the desert. Would love to come ride the Ozarks some time with someone who knows those areas. I always enjoy your videos.
Good to hear from a fellow adventurer... I would love to have you come for a ride some time... I am jealous.. you get to ride all winter in the desert while I get to sit here and feel sorry for myself.... thanks for watching... :)
@@ozarksbackroads5484 You are always welcome to come out West in the winter some time. We could do Death Valley and explore all kinds of old mining towns. I will plan a trip out your way next Spring or Summer. How do we get in touch with each other?
I found your email. Will be in touch. Thanks

Try the Quad lock for your phone sir. I had trub with the ram X mount too. Thx for the Ozark vids!!
Thanks for watching sir... :)
Hello John, that was an awesome adventure! I asked you about tires awhile back, and I’ve made I to the Roaring River State park. I was wondering if I could have a chat with you sometime? Don’t really want to put # on here, but I’m sure there’s a way! Maybe messenger? Not real tech savvy… thanks, Gaylen
hey there sir, good to hear from you... drop me an email at jsmith65711@yahoo.com and I will get back to you... thanks for watching... :)
Hi Jon, Nice to see you struggling like that, not my idea of motorcycling. I prefer asphalt paths through nature if you don't mind. 😁
How are you mapping out your trips for backroads/gravel roads etc. I have experimented with different apps and would like to know your preferred method.
Hello there sir... good to hear from you... I just use google maps... I like to look at the routes satellite view so I can verify the roads actually exist and run through... I am sure there are much better apps for forest and fire roads but that is how I do it.... thanks for watching... :)
I use gaia but you need a premium subscription for backroads.
@@Outdoor_Wanderer Are tracks and routes easy to transfer to Garmin? I have messed with it a little but not with a subscription. Is it worth it? Do all the back roads and gravel roads show up? Thanks for the input.
What kind of trailer is that?
Hello there sir, great to hear from you.. that is a cheepo Chinese copy of a good american made trailer.... I suggest going with the American made Kendon trailer... you can check it out here... www.kendonusa.com/collections/go-series-motorcycle-trailers/products/go-series-single-rail-ride-up-folding-motorcycle-trailer
Good luck and thank for watching... :)
Quadloc beats Ram Grip every time. Ask me how I know.
Are you or will you consider getting a new FJR?
Hello there sir, good to hear from you... No the FJR's are two heavy for me to lift any more so I will keep to lighter bikes... thanks for watching.. keep safe out there... :)
@@ozarksbackroads5484 oh wow in my world I consider the FJR a light bike have a Yamaha venture that weighs 869 pounds after riding it my FJR feels like a feather 😆
Anyway, sure did enjoy your videos when you had your FJR
