It wouldn't be Blizz if one of their Legendary effects didn't immediately brick the game. I still remember how broken the first iteration of Shudderwock was. Hopefully, Blizz patches this to greatly truncate the effect.
I didn't even think of Hir'eek, such a shame. Day 1 I did the Tradeable chef in Warrior. Getting that guy to a 1 mana 100+ minion is fun! So many taunt buffs/duplicates in wild even before Shaffar.
For anyone curious, the big long animation that skipped turns in the first game went from 8:43 to 12:13, for a total of 3 mins and 30 secs...absolutely insane.
In legends of runeterra, there were certain interactions that would take absurd amounts of time to process, and then they added a feature where the game would fast forward to the game state after resolution
Wonder if it would be possible to start ramping up animation speeds after a number of cycles or something. Or is it impossible to program something like that
I mean, Mark used to do it with old shudder animations literal years ago, I think he's more than aware of it lol, he's not playing to be competitive, not for his videos anyway.
I wonder how a variant of this deck where you just rely on Clumsy Steward making a Jeklik temporary would work? With very few minions (Just Steward, Jeklik and Shaffar) you'd be able to tutor pretty well with Free Admission (Also Dark Portal). Then while you'd miss out on the copy effect amplifying the stacks, you'd instead get the exponential growth of always hitting the same minion and then playing that stacked minion the next turn.
@@PowerZordan temporary on jeklik means that she automatically gets discarded, so that you get more copies of her (along with the spellburst shaffar grants)
The fact that turn skipping through animations even still is a thing after all these years is shameful. Either speed them up massively, bundle them together in cases like this or put a hard cap on animations shown each turn. It's called a bugfix.
@@kingjezza6567 They do have something along the lines of having a time buffer between turns should animations go long for one turn. The issue is that it is still very small despite them increasing it over the years.
No. Specifically, because Spellburst triggers AFTER the spell is cast. Meaning in that situation, Shaffar is no longer on the board to have the Spellburst trigger.
@@tarille1043 My thought was that the stack would be spell cast, target minion, minion on board has ability that triggers from spell being cast so it casts it first, whiffs with no minions in hand then spell resolves sending it back to hand.
i assure you its not even complicated to make a check on both players to see if both of them are no longer watching animations also spellburst animation is as long as old poisonous
That's made to prevent otk apm strategy. If you download a mod that skipps animation you also would be banned. If you wondering why, then there was some bad peoples that played ignite mages without animations a d was drawing whole deck turn 3-4 and killing you from full health. They played around 30-40 cards on turn 3 that is impossible without mods. This peoples get to top 1-100 legend and they were just bullying normal players.
@@impkiller5932 call me old fashioned but I think blizzard should address decks like that specifically instead of making the entire game feel sluggish and non responsive
The first "big" minion comes down on turn 4 at best, considering shaffar and coin on opening. By that point you're already dead, and if not you're facing a deck that can easily deal with all the minions you play.

that priest was a really good sport honestly
They respected the meme
i was expecting mindrender illucia boar to mark's face right there.
you found the only two priests that don't run 37 board clears
Blizzard showing off how to torture people with something as simple as an animation

Hir'eek is finally broken.
10 000 years later😂
I dusted him years ago, nooooo
After many years of ignoring the card, he finally becomes playable 😂

Hir'eek is finally playable and broken at that. That’s so cool and funny. I loved watching the opponent try to play cards.

He once did like a 50 minute animation. Not sure if that’s still possible.
In legends of runeterra, there were certain interactions that would take absurd amounts of time to process, and then they added a feature where the game would fast forward to the game state after resolution
Imagine that animation beeing sped up so it would look like 200 lightning bolts hit the boar juicing him up
The one time you want Priests to have infinite board clears they don't have them
The worst part is this feels like an almost viable deck as long as you can make nexus-prince a consistent draw just by summoning larger and larger men
Hats off to that first priest player for respecting the meme.

or make repeated spell bursts on the same minion happen immediately
animation speeds are slow on purpose to stop overzealous APM decks.
@@porovaaraBut it's exactly cases like this one where that consideration backfires. They sped up Shudderwock for essentially the same reason, too.

@@jerianaleonarcturus6759 No, she's literally making exact copies of herself.
Thus, any enchantments persist through the copying.

in a world when pirate decks don't kill you t3 or t5 if they have really bad draw maybe
Even without hir'eek and boar, the ever proliferating and bigger men seems more efficient than jade if you can draw shaffar
