Thank you. My marriage is on the rocks, but we're meeting on Sunday. I will ask intentional questions and listen, instead of making demands or assigning blame. So once again, thank you.
Hi chrystal thanks for sharing this honest advice I found your wisdom so inspirational. I Learned to move in silence and the result of my actions speaks for me, am happy i adopted this lifestyle and started to reinventing myself a year ago, I’m now living healthier, confident, stronger, making 6 figures, having leisure to enjoy family &friends. I feel happier and living my life for myself . This is to encourage someone “you can start anytime to have a reset it’s worth it! I’m striving to continue growing cus it’s a journey❤
Change your mindset, read self-help books, expand knowledge, budget and don't spend on impulse, save, take your finances seriously, eat healthy, exercise your body, meditate; the list goes on... I hope it is useful to you.
@maxdmitry1912 I learnt to be frugal, minimal on spending, saving and paying myself first through Investing, made Plans, growing passive income, Read a lot of books on finance, followed my plan consistently.
Crystal, we've been taught to speak up so much, to name it and claim it, but this art of being silent is life changing. You are wise beyond your years. Thanks!!!
After watching this a second time, I decided to implement some of your strategies in my community today. And my God, it worked. I closed my mouth and allowed Holy Spirit to inform me what question to present when it was time. To my surprise, there were people in my congregation that were participating in the discussion who usually stay quiet. Because of this, we were able to address some of the fears they had. I will be trying this at work tomorrow. But I needed to circle back to you and say THANK YOU.❤
I had to come back and say thank you an hour and a half after I watched your Video, I got a call from my oldest daughter she was sharing some very important information and not once did I want to interrupt, or need to interrupt I just listened, and spoke very little Thank you! you were there with me your words of wisdom great reminders and new information along with your calm and kind self 😊 Thank you Again Thank you Jesus 🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼
Thank you Chrystal. You just opened my eyes because I never thought this was a problem until now. I feel others are too slow to think out a solution, so I practically think for them. Now I know better and will be intentional in building a silent culture🎉❤
Excellent!! Very helpful. I want to maximize the gift of other people in my life. Lord, help me cuz talkers TALK!😂 Help me to grow in wisdom and make space for others, in Jesus name. Thanks sister Chrystal ❤🙏🏽
This has perfect timing for me. I hadn’t been listening to your podcasts and today I am. Just had a leadership training at my church - tables leads for our Women’s Bible study. We discussed silence. I don’t have a problem being silent for a lady to stop, think and process a question about the study. It’s the timing of that silence knowing when I have to move on due to time constraints. I know for me outside of being a table lead, I need silence in my personal life…to listen to others and listen to God. I sometimes wonder if He can’t answer my prayers because I am talking too much for him to respond!
Thank you for this word. My husband has explained this in the middle of a “spirited discussion “. I dismissed it then but I hear you now. Lord shut my mouth and open my ears!🙌🏽
After listening to this episode, I realize the importance of being silent in so many areas: relationships with my husband and my adult sons as well as others I come in contact with. I also realize that I may have actually hindered others from growing by not being silent and answering and providing the solution upfront. I plan to apply the "being silent" strategy.
I was LISTENING to your every word ....especially when you said "when you're not silent, you're not listening".... you risk people disengaging, risk them becoming frustrated, risk losing trust & confidence, etc..... words I have notated :)
Wow...im speechless...I would get uncomfortable with silence in study groups...so I would jump in....not because I wanted to be right or talk so much...I felt maybe nobody had anything to say...😢I willnot fill the silence...I will do and be better...now I know better...this was such a blessing and on time.🤗💛
I needed to hear this tonight. (Confirmation) I broke down in tears a couple of days ago because God showed me during a conversation with my son that I don’t allow other people to pour into me. That hit deep🥲 It was the first time that I felt like I let my son pour into me by asking him a question and being quiet allowing him to speak. Not just hearing him but actually listening. All this time I thought I always pour into others & they leave my cup empty but no it was because I don’t allow them to pour into me. Lord I thank you🙌🏽 All I could do was cry & hug my son while telling him how much I thank him ❤️
Thank you Crystal!! Praise the Lord, I needed this so very much. I need to increase the power of silence and the ability to ask good questions in every area of my life. I needed to hear it today due to a relationship hurting comment I made last night. God used your message to speak to a deep need in my life at exactly the right time. I am going to take action steps today. In Christ's love, Michele.
Good morning Chrystal Thank you 🙏🏾 and it was nice seeing you in person at the “Desperate for Jesus Conference “. This was my very first time attending. It is life changing. Thank you
This was so powerful. I started listening earlier but had to leave. I was tested and immediately I went into silence and the individual played back what they said and boom 💥 victory was won without confrontation. Thank you woman of God🙏♥️🦋
Wow! If your voice sounded like mine, I would think that I had recorded this about myself, about my life. If it gets too quiet, I impulsively speak. No matter the environment. People think that I am extroverted, when in fact I am more introverted. More recently I have been working on keeping silent during those “weird moments” and it feels good when I pass the test and allow others to fill the quiet space. 😊
This subject is the current theme within my household. I have been convicted to master the art of silence and to teach my girls the same. 40 years of learning toxic behaviors that are completely antithetical toward the aforementioned has made it significantly hard to achieve. However, I know Holy Spirit is able and I am willing so I praise God in advance for victory!🙏🏾🎉 Thank you for sharing such gems.❤
I must say I feel seen. For years I've felt like being quiet was a stigma. I was voted one of the quietest in my senior class, when in actuality I'm more quiet in groups than one on one; but just like you I tend to speak only when I feel compelled to say something. On the other hand if I was talking with someone and there was a pause, I would quickly try to fill it with words because I was afraid the other person would think I'm not interesting enough to carry on a conversation. However recently I've allowed myself to sit in the space, and discovered when that happens, the other person usually brings up something else to talk about and we continue to flow. I realize there's a time to speak up and a time to be silent, but this message is confirmation that when I am silent it is not a flaw.
That’s good, wow.i have learned silence is good.putting others first and letting them have space. I need to hold space for others. Better listener. Thanks.
15:35 you’ve just described me. I never knew what it was but this is it. I just wanna add the information that was missing. That’s the key part in my opinion. Everyone get their ah-ha moment their lightbulbs go off. And you’re right. I don’t say much but when I do everyone’s attention is on me
Watched this twice..took notes the second time. As a teacher and small group leader I really struggle with talking too much and getting so excited that I tell all the answers, and don’t give enough space to others who are also capable. This is a word in season for me. The Lord had already said to me “There is power in the pause “. This is part 2. I will be asking my small group to help me and keep me accountable in this learning to lead journey. Thankyou Chrystal. [ From New Zealand ]
This was so on time for me because I am the silent one in the room and it does make some uncomfortable. Thank you for your words of wisdom and encouragement ❤😊
I need this so badly. I always feel like I need to prove a point, defend myself or actions and to seem smart. I’ve always loved a debate and it’s hurt me in so many ways. I reflect after and wished I’d just kept my mouth shut. Lord help me. I need a constant reminder to be quiet. Maybe I should get a tattoo on my hand.
Thank you so much Chrystal! I sent this to my son praying he will watch. It will help us both better communicate with each other. In Jesus name I pray Amen!
Hi Crystal, Thank you for this. Silence helps correct listening errors. Been practicing this more lately and seeing profound benefits at work, home and relationships. It's a secret mystery!

I am blown away once again, sis! I have been struggling with being silent since I started my own family with my husband. Yes, I have a habit of jumping in every conversation and solving every promise that my family faces. They come to me every day asking what I think and say you seem to have the answer. This has humbled me very much. I will apply this and put in the work. Thank you, sis!
This is the best leadership lesson EVER! I always felt so bad about being quiet in meetings because I'm always thinking about what others are saying .....this is encouraging! I'm going to practice it more.
I appreciate this topic so much. It hit home and confirms what my husband has been telling me all the time. When I ask him for an answer or immediate input or feedback in his silence he would tell me he’s thinking about what I just said. So I exercised silence this weekend with family. And for a minute, I began to feel my silence was anti-social, but it wasn't. I was still communicating through the body language of silence and was powerfully showing up as one of the most confident persons in the room. I kept asking, 'Why do people keep low key following me, watching me, the most unlikely people want a photo with me?" I just understood my whole weekend by LISTENING to this video. Yeah. This pod cast hit different. Gotta listen to it again.....this is meat, potatoes, and greens rolled up into one. Thanks.❤
Thank you for this message. I am a person that need to think before I speak esp when I am learning something new. If I am rushed when I am learning I feel stressed and can't think of the answer. If I have time to think about it I can give the right answer.
Thank you so very much for sharing this. I felt like you were talking directly to me. I admit I was defensive at first, made excuses, but God's been telling me to be silent, and I've struggled. Your message has touched me and helped me to see the benefits of silence and reasons for my difficulty. Trust. Those I'm able to be silent with I trust. Those I don't it's almost impossible 😵😅 it also highlighted I'm not trusting God to work in them or speak for me. I can't thank you enough. I've been putting off joining your inner circle but I'm going to have to take the next step bcz you are such a blessing and I know there's more God will show me thru you. Thanks! Blesses to you 🙏🏽💜🙏🏽
Crystal, this was needed and an eye opener. I know how to be silent very well (complete shut down) I've almost mastered it, but it's not in love, grace, or demeanor. Lord, help me know when to speak and when to be silent but gracefully with the understanding that You will handle that issuen those problems.
Wow!!!! This is valuable information! I needed this 👂 I use the power of silence at work but not at home. At work, where I'm a SPED Teacher, others love to fill the space quickly, so I pull back. Maybe this isn't good silence. However, at home and as a church leader, where I'm most confident, I need to learn how to ask quality questions and pause longer.
i’m learning how to communicate so bad! sometimes i feel like i need to speak and then i feel super convicted. i’m seriously learning at work cuz my work place is kind of toxic but not terrible. just a lot of trash talk and complaining
Appreciate this talk, Chrystal. I’m convicted all the time about needing to be a better listener and more kind and considerate in conversations. I have ADDHD and always in talk mode if there is someone around. Dominating conversations is one of my big downfalls. I don’t really set out to do so but when I open my mouth, away I go. I know that all that you said is wise and correct it I also know having knowledge and implementing are two different things. I thought the other day I should PRAY before every conversation ahead of time. And, actually take time to find a book study or articles that offers practical tips and goals, that I could journal and work at putting into practice. I really want to be present for my people, and others in general to listen and learn from what they have to say. Like you said it is a gift we can give others. Thanks!🙏🏼
Amen!I totally enjoyed this conversation because naturally I am a quite person. Sometimes I be judging myself that maybe I need to speak up more 😅but then I'm also like there is really no need especially when others have already added and its enough. I believe its good to speak when it is necessary. This really spoke to me and made me feel understood. Thank you so much ❤🙏
Lord, teach me to be silent. Help me know when to talk and when to listen!
Straight up. Same
Oh my goodness...I say this too much because I know I talk too much and I need help to cut it short. 😊
Thank you so much for this conversation...I literally need this SO MUCH...thank you, thank you ❤
This is a great prayer! I come into agreement with that for you and for me ❤🙏🏾
Amen 🙏

So I exercised silence this weekend with family. And for a minute, I began to feel my silence was anti-social, but it wasn't. I was still communicating through the body language of silence and was powerfully showing up as one of the most confident persons in the room. I kept asking, 'Why do people keep low key following me, watching me, the most unlikely people want a photo with me?" I just understood my whole weekend by LISTENING to this video. Yeah. This pod cast hit different. Gotta listen to it again.....this is meat, potatoes, and greens rolled up into one. Thanks.❤
So glad you were able to listen! Thanks for the encouragement!
Imma listen more when I ask those questions...and leave room and space for others to speak too
This morning I was told that by my husband that I always talking thanks for your massage
thank you!!! this will be on repeat 😊
Thanks! Blesses to you 🙏🏽💜🙏🏽
YES, GIRL!! Join us in The Inner Circle. We have a lot of great resources.
Amen. The power of silence. Love love love. Thank you!
Thank you for this talk. I will try this assignment
So much insight here… thanks Chrystal.
Thank you for the tips on improving my communication!
This was so Encouraging !! thank you 🥀🌷
Crystal, this was needed and an eye opener. I know how to be silent very well (complete shut down) I've almost mastered it, but it's not in love, grace, or demeanor. Lord, help me know when to speak and when to be silent but gracefully with the understanding that You will handle that issuen those problems.
Yea... I know about that shut down too :)
I have to put this into action.
You are so right and this is so very powerful 😮. This is the first time I ever heard you and I truly appreciate all that you are saying. Thank you
i’m learning how to communicate so bad! sometimes i feel like i need to speak and then i feel super convicted. i’m seriously learning at work cuz my work place is kind of toxic but not terrible. just a lot of trash talk and complaining
Great teaching and so needed ❤️
Yes, im goinf to watch this everyday
Thank you for affirming some of my feelings
Thanks!🙏🏼
Praying for you, sis! Its a great gift to give others.
@@ChrystalHurst much appreciated 🦋
Love this and will be putting these tips into practice! Thank you!!
I needed to hear this. Right on time. Thank you fr.sharing again.❤🎉
Thank you so much ❤🙏
Thank you so much for your wisdom 🙏❤
Awesome! 🙏🏾🙏🏾 thank you Chrystal!
This is powerful thank you for sharing. ❤
It depends on why you’re quiet. If you’re quiet because of fear that’s different. I think I want to learn to use my voice more healthily.
Intrigued on the silence.
