I think it's sad that this is such a big deal. In women football teams it's no problem if someone isn't straight. At least in the teams I played it wasn't.
I think it's because sports are seen as masculine, so when women are really into sports people may almost expect a sizable percentage to be gay, whereas with men they have a terrible time dealing with toxic masculinity

In England the Premier League began the Rainbow Laces campaign. Ironically Chelsea F.C. was in a featured game endorsing it. The Co Chairman of their Chelsea Supporters Trust was caught making bigoted remarks about the LGBT they have. An apology had to be posted up on the Chelsea Supporters Trust page last October by him. How sincere the apology was who knows ? But he had to resign from the board. But Chelsea as far as the LGBT group know hasn't barred this guy.

I don't agree with abusing someone when he or she is playing because of their sexual orientation. gay people have always been around for such along time,I don't agree with it Cz it doesn't make sense to me at all but who am I to judge? at some point in life being black was like a criminal offense and people fought hard especially in America including other races to abolish segregation. it's therefore for hypocritical to say that gay people should have their rights. 3. Whenever you come close yourself to God, He will never judge you based on your sexuality. He will judges and look at you, by what kind of a person you are.
4. Humanity is about as long as we bring ourselves to loves someone else, no matter what colour, no matter what race, no matter what religion, and no matter what gender. Humanity just want us to be loved, and to be able to love somebody back.
5. God loves us beyond any and everything else, and that’s who we should love first.
6. And in God's eyes kindness and love are what it’s all about.
