Also Adaline: Proceeds to wear flattering makeup colors for her complexion, keeps her outfits updated with the times, and walks around sporting the fact that she probably has 20/20 vision. Granny clothes, a pale complexion, baby powder on the hair roots and some old-fashioned eye glasses could have gone a long way 🙃🫠
I think if it the license said she was in her 50’s when the officer pulled her over it would of made it much more suspicious to him and more realistic to why the FBI came looking for her…
I don’t understand why she didn’t make herself look older. At this point that wouldn’t have been very difficult. Some people in the comments think she already looks 45yrs old. Blake Lively is stunning; 🤩 so I think that’s the other challenge. She is more beautiful than an “average woman”. The officer probably thought she was a spy, AND found her very attractive, which made him distrust her age even more. I like the movie. But Adaline could’ve done so much more to look older and less attractive, which would’ve made her life easier for a longer period of time. She could have dyed her hair a “mousy brown”, worn very little makeup and “old lady” eye glasses and clothes to make her look more like her adult daughter’s mom. But instead, Adaline makes herself very attractive, with beautiful clothes and sexy red lips, and blonde hair. All of this draws a lot of attention to her. So that annoys me, because she could’ve done a lot more to make herself look older and blend in more, at least until 65 years old imo.
Exactly. Say good diet + expensive creams + old lady spectacles would have HELPED. Heck, forget about dyes, just pomade dusted with baby powder on the roots would have done the trick, too. The writing was so dramatic, when technically, she didn't even try.
@@vqbl795But who is the older woman that is talking to her on the phone? She calls her Reagan and I thought it was her daughter but then I remembered the daughters name was Neegan I think 🤔
that is the biggest SF Chinatown apartment I've ever seen, she prob. owns the whole property long, long before it began as part of Chinatown neighborhood. Now she can assume to be the great granddaughter of herself.🤨
WTF SF Chinatown started in the mid 1800s. Adeline was born decades later in 1908. In the film she has keen eye on speculating future investment (Xerox), she probably realized the potential in that area at the end of WWII.
Well why they claimed she looked too young for 45 years old even for that times with their cosmetic and technology a person can look like that at 45 years why not?
@@КатяХименко You're making my own point for me... also, the shape of the face changes as we age. So it wouldn't just be youthful looking skin but how the fat distributes as well. Either way, it's just a movie but (IMO) a good one.
@user-ee1vm9qz4b nope. People never looked as good back then. The average 45 year old in 1953 would look 60+ today. Our access to cosmetics, skincare, better medicine, more health conscious mindset and a lifespan about 15 years longer has left us looking much better. Cosmetic surgery then on top is a bonus. No one looked that good at 45 back then. Today you'd go "she looks after herself well" and move on. My own mother is in her early 50s and looks 40
@nonyabidness5708 I don't think plastic surgery actually makes people look younger-usually they look their age or close to it, they just look like they have had surgery
Yeah, its a cool idea she keeps falling for the men in this family, but they didnt sell her loving Ellis more than William. It just felt like she was more worn down....which is a way to go.....if you sell the theme of timing better
Average people are far better than you and will not, in general, mistake 28-year-old woman for a 45-year-old. It's interesting how people who have major deficiencies, like in your case calculating age, are often oblivious to the fact that, in one particular area, they are far below average.
I love the small details of this movie like the part when she was taken by fbi agents and she figured out how to get free from the car because she was a there when they were first made.❤❤❤
I couldn’t imagine how terrified she was when those FBI agents wanted to run tests on her !! Her being on run
"Changing her name, residence, and appearance every decade."

@@gle062 Well changing her appearance would also mean changing her hair too. Why keep that the same?
It's like the Highlander curse with a twist...her children grow old but she never does ...that would hurt like hell.
I was thinking the same thing.... the similarities to Highlander.

Maybe that's what she was already doing. That's why she dresses up as a ma'am instead of someone her age (20 something)

This is very professionally narrated 😅. No robot voices
😂
Probably a famous audiobook narrator.
These is one of my favourite strange phenomena on a person story like Benjamin Button
more like Dorian Gray
@@anikethchakraborty3238. Fortunately, Adaline did not have that character development😅

Not back then. Now with plastic surgery but back then it would have been obvious something was different/wrong.

A wonderful movie. Blake Lively is so beautiful. The scene between Adaline and her daughter was so sad.
It unfortunate people always talk about how pretty she is vs her talents as an actress
