I was there! With my best friend and a couple of girlfriends. Wow, this brings back memories of simpler times. I tried to see myself in the audience. I will have to play this video over and over again! I can smell the Ralph Lauren cologne and hairspray even now.
It’s a testimony to everything The Hurting offered and is resolved in this one god damn song. Minus the rest of the album this one song is a sequel to their first album. Then there is the rest of the songs on Big Chair that just paint a picture so deep it can’t be seen with a general listen of the album but the songs in between spanning the three albums from the 80s. Concept trilogy is more accurate to be honest. TFF for life…
It’s really not that complex it’s the sax that makes it seem unique it’s the drums and piano with the vocals and the key change that make things more grand.😊
I love that this tune never blew up. It feels like a song that exists for US…the fans of TFF…as opposed to the wider, general audience who can hum a few bars of “everybody wants to rule the world”.
@@itsfripe5 Nobody’s gatekeeping, dude…this happened organically. Pop culture never picked up on this tune the way it did with Shout or Head Over Heels. You’re using buzzwords that you barely understand…
As a lover of good jazz this song is absolutely amazing. Roland's voice is beyond epic. Then all the instruments fusing together is breathtaking. One of my favorite songs ever!!❤❤🎵🎷🎷🎸🎹
The Roland's voice is insane. This man is GOLD! so freaking talented, carismatic, hadsome and his stage presence is everything. His smile have power that give life.
Que pena que no final não tem a imagem quando Roland fala, parece que ele fala e sorri,e que maravilha para os ouvidos 😅apesar de eu não entender o inglês 🎉❤
Roland Orzabal is one of my all-time favorite male vocalist 👍 Amazing enough to hit all the right notes of the song in the right timing and tune 👍 Luv u Roland u made my day. I love this song👍❤️❤️❤️😍
And here it all just came together in a way that could not have been more sublime. Those off-beat drums, the crying sax, the subtle yet essential base underneath, a barely audible rhythm guitar, the key changes, and glueing it all together with a voice powerful and clear. A performance of a most original composition.
This song is hidden through the years and is such a gem especially now i am in my 50s....it sure hit a chord in my heart when Roland sang the chorus. On hindsight, for them to write such deep song at their young age speaks a lot about them. 🫡 salute.
I have Scenes from the Big Chair on DVD and this video is my most favorite! I’ve been a huge TFF fan since they came out with The Hurting and and have been with them through every step of the way. TFF 4Ever!!!
I saw them on this tour, I was a junior in HS and it truly was one of the highlights of that summer. I was 3rd row center and fully present. Remember we had no cell phones, all we had was each other and living in the moment. They were great live back then and still are today. It sucks getting older, but you think I'd trade this experience...nope!
Oh man, I love this song! This is by far, my ultimate favorite one by Tears for Fears. I still listen to this song just about every night before I go to sleep.
All their hits in the 80’s made you Shout… and let it all out… so so lucky to be a part of such a musical Era… the Fashion… the Essence of it all will always be of fond memories
This is the one song that makes me think of my father. I remember playing it for him as we drove around downtown Los Angeles in 1986. I think of him and of that day often...not talking much but enjoying this amazing song. RIP dad.
Absolutely love this song. Have seen you a number or times but have yet to hear it live. Reminds me of 18 year old me back in 1985. Loved songs from big Chair
I never heard this song before. . When my friend is broken he gives what down on the inside of him. It must be glorious there. Thank you Tears for Fears
A classic that got lost behind all of the other hits from Songs From The Big Chair. One of my all time TFF songs.
No longer underrated. Just adored and requested all the time.
My husband says the same
Truly timeless masterpiece
Definitely one of my favorites!
Same, and Roland's voice live....
Roland has the absolute voice of an Angel. A masterpiece.
He could sing anything and I’d love it…
wtf do you know about angels. Grow up
That's the truth. Even his latest album sounds amazing!
Definitely absolutely without a doubt love all his music!
He is a gifted genius
Unbelievable these guys were in their early 20's at this time. They already had a level of depth and perception most 70 years old never gain!
Reincarnated ❤
The “Find out, find out, what this fear is about” is just so good!
Roland writes such poetry…
@@iamkiy5290 Yes he does!
Its all about whats happening in the world today...
The message behind the whole album
It’s sexy.
I was there! With my best friend and a couple of girlfriends. Wow, this brings back memories of simpler times. I tried to see myself in the audience. I will have to play this video over and over again! I can smell the Ralph Lauren cologne and hairspray even now.
OMG WAS IT AS AMAZING AS I HOPE! I always wanted to go to this concert ever since I became obsessed with them.
You were so lucky!!
thanks for coment and telling us about that night, for those who couldn't be there it is nice to read little details about it ❤
You're so lucky. I was born 12 years after that but I wish i had been there so badly. One of the best concerts of my favorite band.
I’m jealous ❤
THIS IS THE GREATEST SONG EVER WRITTEN!!! THERE I SAID IT!.
It’s a testimony to everything The Hurting offered and is resolved in this one god damn song. Minus the rest of the album this one song is a sequel to their first album. If you've any soul or emotion within yourself then this song doesn't need to be explained to you. Wishing I could meet someone who gets this song.
Roland voice tone is unique. Amazing performance 👌🏻
Here's a song that brings a complex arrangement, incredible musicians, and an epic voice to create a masterpiece!
It’s really not that complex it’s the sax that makes it seem unique it’s the drums and piano with the vocals and the key change that make things more grand.😊
I heard their music during my growing up years. 80's music never gets outdated, just classic and timeless. So much nostalgia.
This is crazy good. I’m in love with the saxophone, that legendary break at 2:02, and Roland’s incredibly powerful voice!
Roland's voice is so majestic
I love that this tune never blew up. It feels like a song that exists for US…the fans of TFF…as opposed to the wider, general audience who can hum a few bars of “everybody wants to rule the world”.
Frankly honest on your part.
So true
Add "Swords And Knives" to that list.
Eh no reason to gatekeep incredible songs

Not every one can make the 🎷 sing 😍 and that voice 💜
they both have great voices this group got me through college in the 1980's
As a lover of good jazz this song is absolutely amazing. Roland's voice is beyond epic. Then all the instruments fusing together is breathtaking. One of my favorite songs ever!!❤❤🎵🎷🎷🎸🎹
TFF were masters of fusing a multitude of instruments together.
WOW, this sounds AMAZING!
My favorite from them. If you missed them back then, you really did miss something great!
I wasn't even born, man :(
This song gets very busy @ 1:40 all these different elements Sax, Drums, Synth, Piano. . . ALL sound marvelous together . . . I ❤ TFF
Roland has such an incredible voice!!
The Roland's voice is insane. This man is GOLD! so freaking talented, carismatic, hadsome and his stage presence is everything. His smile have power that give life.
Roland is a Leo, who commands attention when he walks on stage. Such a powerful, beautiful voice.

5:25 - The beatles!
Roland: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
The man with the sax is William Gregory - the co-founder, producer and composer of the duo Goldfrapp...
Who else is enjoying this amazing song in 2024?
Just rediscovered it after almost 40 years. What a mature masterpiece to the last detail and definetely the best song on the album.
ME😊
The version I listen to doesn’t sound like he’s Hispanic
Never stopped. My favorite.

2:01 probably the best part. that small drop in key to this short choppy punchy rhythm that seems so unexpected but so right.
Brilliant song, nearly 40 years on. Curt's bass, Will Gregory's glorious sax and of course the pulsing drums from Manny. A gem.
Amazing performance!
Fucking Timeless song. I was a little boy 6 years old when I came across Tears.. and it colored my whole childhood.
One of their great album tracks this...... Stunning.

A Masterpiece. This song is timeless and will go on for generations.

Oh man, I love this song! This is by far, my ultimate favorite one by Tears for Fears. I still listen to this song just about every night before I go to sleep.
The 80's, the best decade, out of this world
All their hits in the 80’s made you Shout… and let it all out… so so lucky to be a part of such a musical Era… the Fashion… the Essence of it all will always be of fond memories
My favorite song by this band, hands down, since 1985.
Can’t stop coming back to this performance, this song is the pinnacle of 80s pop

Some people just incarnate on this planet to create and share amazingly brilliant music. Period.
This is a piece of music art 🎨🎨🎨
Audio job was amazing. I can really hear the details in the vocals and the instrumentals a lot more without the interview in the background.
My favourite band for more years than I will admit to lol...just superb, then and now
