Yeah I wouldn’t imagine somebody probably did it because he stab that lady for her purse remember that somebody mama are grandma some people can retaliate for that…
I always appreciated the fact that they showed the kids in real life really crying after losing their first game because test audiences didn't believe criminals and gangsters had feelings. Just shows that deep down, these are still kids.
This movie makes me believe I can do anything. These kids never ever played football but were still a great team. It makes me believe anything is possible if you believe in yourself
I was there when all this took place. "B" dorm (Knights). 90-91. Junior Palaita from Dominguez, he's the one who messed up his back during practice. They portrayed him different than I remember him. He was very respectful. Travieso Sarabia from Hazard was the quarterback, but he didn't get credit. NoGood from SOS was there. Bug wasn't the only waterboy, so was Negro from WestSideLocos and Osito from SouthSide13street. Oso from Chivas. Angel from WhiteFence. Porter didn't like me, I was a fuck up that was always in the dungeon. He was a damn good coach though.
I hope you are safe and around good people, Mr. Sanchez. This is one of my favorite stories/movies...I just wish I had someone like Porter in my life as I was growing up.

Take that zealous book that invokes the hatred deep within your heart, and destroy it. Burn it. Tear every single page out of that book and never read so much as a page again, because it does absolutely nothing except invoke hatred towards “sinners”, in the same way that classism invokes hatred among different socio-economic brackets.

Oh yeah. Nobody wants to have to keep that front of a hard persona. But they do it cause in the streets it’s either kill or be killed.
