Great tips and love your background. Something I suggest for cleaning is to count the number of rooms/spaces you have and add 1. That's the number of days you need to deep clean your place. Easier to do one space at a time and have a final day to wipe things down and vacuum than do it all in two days. (I live in a 3br apartment and have a storage unit to clean)
Kaylee, this was super helpful, thank you! I move May 31st (in the middle of the COVID quarantine) and have two months to prepare. This helps me conceptualize what I need to get done in that time. To be safe, I'll set my "Move Out Date" two days before the official end of the lease, so all my boxes are transported to storage but I have a couple days to camp out in the apartment and finalize deep cleaning.
This info is so helpful even years later! This is my husband and I’s second move but this time around we are moving with a 10 month old baby while I am 7 months pregnant 😬. He is also a contractor who could be on the road right up until us moving so we have quite a lot going on. Organization is going to be key lol, thanks again.
We're moving into a house finally in March. Thank you for the awesome tips! A lot of your tips are good for people like me who are going from apartment to home.
Me watching this 1 week before I love 🕴🏽 it’s okay I don’t have many things and I have started to remove things I’m not taking, thank you for this vid!
Very good advice, thank you, made a list as you spoke, you helped me immensely with this fairly last-minute move for my family, Thank you and be Blessed for the help you give others!
Your video was helpful. I was planning on moving the last week in June. But my fiancé decided that we are moving two weeks earlier than we originally had planned because one job I was going to do this summer got moved to July and it conflicts with my Florida trip so my fiancé decided to move earlier. I feel like we have so much to do in much a short amount of time. I am starting to feel a little overwhelmed.
Good luck with your move. I like to take stuff to a consignment shop so I can earn a bit of cash to buy things for my new place (such as the sticky things for my command hooks, organizers, etc.). Every place we've lived in seems to need different organizational stuff.
I'm moving between November and December 2018 I really liked this video is was very informative I've been watching other videos on moving and moving hacks but this video really sealed the deal for me hopefully my move in November or December of 2018 will be a less stressful hopefully non-stressful calm cool Collective smooth transitional move for me thank you so much for this video much appreciate it
I'm moving downstairs to a basement level cuz I have a 2 year old and we're both loud lol so the decision made is it's more convenient and clinical reasons. Anyway it's in the same building so it shouldn't be too bad, but I'm going nuts on wea to start and wut on packing. Ugh... oh wait then the un packing 😅 fun fun oh the joy's of life change ☺
Yeah this is like one of the only videos on TH-cam that’s helped me move out of my first apartment. All the other ones are how to move out of your parents lol, no one told me about having a deposit for electric for my first move or how to have my mail forward. My landlord asked for my forwarding address and I thought that’s how it happened. I only just now did a change of address with the USPS. Just didn’t know 🤷🏻♀️
Thanks for getting to the point. I've watched several moving and packing tips/hacks videos and people just like that sound of their own voice it seems. I just want that freaking info and you did very well to lay it all out very plainly 😉
It’s been so long since I’ve moved. What I want to know, other ppl’s opinions about this- I’ve lived here SO many years that I know the landlord is going to have to hire cleaners. So how deep am I expected to clean this place? I was only planning on vacuuming this rug (that legally he has to replace for the next tenant)and doing easy wiping down. I don’t think I should have to deal wth hard core cleaning of my shower.etc when I know no matter what he’s going to keep my cleaning deposit & hire pro’s.
Your landlord has NO RIGHT to keep your deposit unless there is damage. As far as I know, there is no such thing as a "cleaning deposit". If you mean your security deposit (usually one month's rent) it must be returned to you, usually with interest. If the landlord wants to hire professional cleaners, that's his choice, It has nothing to do with your responsibility to leave your place reasonably clean. I hope you didn't get ripped off. If he "took you to the cleaners", take him to court. Since your post is 6 months ago, this comment may be too late, but you will know for the next time. Always give the landlord your forwarding address. Deposit must be returned within 30 days in most states. If your deposit and explanation of any deductions is NOT received within 30 days, you can go to small claims court and let a judge decide. I hope your move went well and that you are safe during this pandemic.
Thanks for the helpful tips - not only do I love the ideas you suggested but also your video format was very organized... The ones I've seen before you are quite annoying, lol. Most importantly, you're very calm so I guess that is the single most helpful tip you've given for all (stressed-out) movers :) Cheers & subscribed !
This video was directed more towards people living in an apartment, not home owners. Also, I would not wait until 2 or 3 weeks to notify places of change of address. If it is a large company, it can take longer than that and may take two billing cycles to get it forwarded to you.
Last night I visited your channel at the first time and after that I became your fan :) I liked your channel so much, though I'm a boy. You're such a cute person and that's why I'm gonna watch all of your 146 videos :)
Hey! I'm currently in my final year of high school and planning on taking biomedical engineering in college but while watching a myriad of videos on youtube, i'm kinda confused now because i've heard students with only a bachelors degree get jobs less frequently than a person with a masters degree. Also someone with a Bachelors has less control on what they can do when hired for a job rather than someone with a masters. What are your opinions on these and also any tips? XX
I graduated with a bachelors and had no trouble finding a job. I actually had my job lined up before I graduation, so I wouldn't say having just a bachelors was a disadvantage for me at all. I've also heard that having a masters gives you more opportunities but since I don't have one I really can't say whether that's true or not. My friends that are in grad school (for multiple engineering disciplines) haven't graduated yet so I can't speak to their experiences, either. It might depend on what you want to do specifically, so if you have a narrow career goal in mind definitely research that thoroughly. I think that if you have good grades from a good school, have quality co-op or internship experience, and have the personality traits they are looking for you will have a good shot with any employer. Also, for what it's worth, having applicable job skills and employment history that demonstrates your character and soft skills is often the difference maker between candidates with similar degrees and grades. I hope that helps! xx
ohh! Thankyou so much, you've cleared my mind of doubts. One question though: i see a lot of universities that have both bioengineering and biomed engineering. Their descriptions of both seem very similar. do you have any experience in this? does one rely on science and the other on the actual technology of the instruments?
They're synonymous. Different schools' programs will differ, though. Some offer only one specialty/focus, and some offer a handful. If you know what focus you want to have it would be good to look through their course requirements or contact someone in their department to find out if they have what you're looking for.
I work in software quality assurance. It's hard to sum up what I do because I do a lot of different things & am working on several projects right now. A quick google search will probably explain, although the job is different at different companies.
And then look forward to a credit score hit. You'll have to take care of finances the right way or you'll end up fucking up credit yourself getting worked hard to build over the years.
@@chasingthelookplease be kind, rewind 😆 📼 I’m watching your video for tips as I’m about to move in a year and a half 😅 but my last move was a disaster and overwhelming
I am moving out of a 13 year relationship we have 3 children and he has no plans to marry....I'm leaving because Jesus loves me and I don't want to live in sin any longer. What I thought was impossible because of our finances God went beyond my expectations some how granted me the funds and I move Dec 1st ❤

This was SO helpful. Did not know about the mail holding service, and had forgotten that it takes 24 hours to defrost a fridge. Thank you! :)
The timing of this video is perfect. I'm moving in about a week
Good luck with your move!

Woah! That sounds so stressful! Hope it all worked out! We're only moving with an 11-month-old and a dog and I feel way out of my depth... 😬
I came to this channel like three years ago and now again for help. Thank you for sharing this wonderful video.
Thank you! It’s nice to know it’s still a helpful resource after a few years

Finally I'm moving video that isn't so basic and silly as, " figure out where you want to move".
These moving out videos just makes me want to move out as soon as possible.

Awesome! The easiest move I ever did was after college when I had no furniture and just had to put my things in my car.
