One thing I would suggest is getting a camera angle of what's going on outside. That way something like the lane assist thing would be a bit easier to understand.
That is probably a bit expensive or difficult for something like a short circuit video I can totally see it happening more on a ltt video but short circuit tends to be focused on quick cheap unboxings/first impressions
@@Bradyboy26 Probably not expensive, just more complicated and would take longer to edit... for now. It's a process thing. If enough people want it, they'll probably try to get a production process in-place that lets their team get the footage in-place efficiantly.

the reason they did that with the front truck is that if it meets a certain volume, they need to place a safety release latch, they make the piece "removable" so you can take it out yourself, but can't come from the factory without it bc laws and stuff.
I would like to see more talk on the inside tech on new cars. The issue I feel a lot of car reviews miss is the usability of onboard UI & what features are baked in the car. It would be cool if you find a way to play DOOM in the mustang too.
That’s because proper car reviews focus on it being a good car first (this is not one of them) as they should. Gadgetry and tech should always be considers second
Id absolutely love to see you guys do more techy car reviews but if I could suggest something. Id love it if you guys had more cameras set up in the car. Even if they are go-pros or you can see other cameras in frame. It would be great to see more angles / having more show than tell.
Alex, Just a few pointers. LKA =/= Autopilot. Unless the OEM offers Lane Centering specifically, for example GM's Supercruise or Ford's new BlueCruise it's not meant to compete with autopilot. LKA is just meant to prevent you from driving into another lane if you are distracted but not keep you centered in the lane. Also the voice control to Google assistance would probably work if you pressed and held that button on the steering wheel. That's the method most OEMs now use. Looking forward to future reviews.
Fun fact, there is actually a ski hatch in the Norwegian version of the Mach E. But its delivered from a thirdparty manufacturer and as far as I know, only avalible in the scandinavian market.
This was a great first car review! When you talked about the suspension, I think it would have been useful to talk about the tyres - were they run flats? In my opinion they are terrible! Having harder walls they really make you feel the bumps, that could have been why. Changing out for ‘regular’ tyres would have been a better option in my opinion. Keep it up Alex!
I would love to see more B roll shots of the vehicle itself. I was trying to see what the mustang really looked like and the camera kept changing and moving. As for which car, I would love to see a series on crossovers. (specifically the Mazda CX-5) Definitely enjoying the car review and with some refinement I see a lot of promise.
@@MKL347 I think it's more considered a hatchback, but yeah its not really a mustang. I think it's cool looking, though. Different strokes for different folks I guess.
The plastic look in the frunk is intentional, and has drain holes for water. You can chuck wet/muddy things into it without ruining nice interior. Also, the center divider is removable. If you want waterproof storage, you have the entire rest of the car.
@@Koda14 I actually drove a focus electric a few months ago and was impressed. For 2012 technology it did quite well, and it was a good competitor to the nissan leaf at the time. The focus's battery was actually climate controlled when the leaf's wasn't. Similar range and the only thing the leaf best the ffe in was having the option for chademo dc fast charging.
My 2020 Honda behaves the same way with the adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assist system. Instead of detecting the other car way out and smoothly braking, the cruise control waits until you're within the distance you set and then jerks the brake to match their speed. And the LKAS works fantastically until it doesn't -- it lets you keep a looser grip on the steering wheel generally, but I don't trust it for S curves or lane splits/merges or anything more complex than just going straight or a gentle turn.
I agree about the door handles (or lack of). That won't cut it where I live, where even real handles don't even allow you to open the door when ice get your door stuck...
With the passenger doors imagine if it was windy and the door opened and you went to grab it and the wind pushed the door shut and you got your finger's cut off.
Once you press that button to open the passenger doors, they can’t go back closed until opening them a little more manually so there is no chance the door can close on your fingers!

Would love to see more car stuff on ShortCircuit. Think you did really great - especially considering that It looked like a pretty quick review.
@@Bradyboy26 I would be perfectly satisfied with a small GoPro. Just for if/when things happen. Shouldn't take much longer to edit if you sync clap the cameras.
@@Bradyboy26 my guy they have editors who would add a view of the 2nd camera in a matter of minutes. That'd be the easiest thing they could do
Would be cool if you mic'd up Brandon as well, so it's not just Alex going "Brandon says x and y", looing forward to more of this content.
I live in Idaho, you made a really good point about the back door. There's been days where I've had to use an uncomfortable amount of force to open my door in the winter because it was basically frozen shut.
It seems like it was designed by people that live in southern California and they never thought that someone from the north would want to buy this car
Teslas can be heated up remotely from the app, wonder if it's a more common thing with EVs
@@Coldvod Ford is a Michigan based company though.
@@Mpdarkguy Not good enough. Give me a real damn door handle so I can open it if I have to run out without time to heat up.
@@carsonschraer9666 But the biggest market for electric cars in the US is California.
You guys need to take tips from Doug Demuro: have close up b-roll shots of the features while you describe them
Or from the LTT/LMG of cars: Donut/Donut Media
Just don't take too much from Doug, especially when it comes to EVs.
Linuscore weekend categorie solid, but lack of 8k screens and RGB wheels robs The wow factor
@@mariomachadofilho The fun factor is high though, I mean, the autopilot is watercooled so it gets 8 points
People be acting like this is LTT and not short circuit. The whole premise of this channel is to put as few editing and effort as possible and just show something to the viewer.
Ah..Yes.. Bang and Awfulsen, the renowned audio brand
"O'fullsend"
Ha, it's still better than majority of car audio out there. I do feel they're losing their pride, which is to blow their customers away with audio ( I own several B&O products and the latest one, the E8 sports, disappointed me a little for the price and the sound compared to senheisser)
@@Ipuffyy op was making fun of his pronunciation, not the brand...
Goes to show when people with zero experience on cars starts jump to reviewing cars because there are "TECH" now. Its a disgrace, Now every Tech channel on TH-cam are gonna start reviewing electric cars.
@@satanasino I agree, as long as they just talk about the tech and how it works it'd be fine, but they want to talk about driving dynamics and ruins it

The rear door has a servo / actuator that pushes the door open - this works when its frozen. The vehicle was engineered in Michigan, so you can imagine this is a pretty common use case.
The major problem of this car is being called a Mustang, and it's also been the best ford marketing idea for years
I think that this won’t be getting the same amount of views as the other videos, but it absolutely deserves to. Alex as a car presented is a pleasantly unexpected surprise and I really wish there were more car vids. Keep on going y’all!!
He is a car nerd. In his writing he usually finds a way to mention grand tour/top gear
Regardless of his car nerd status he need to prove himself as a competent car reviewer first. Maybe some ICE cars would be a good start
Thanks for the honesty about the suspension / ride comfort. A lot of reviews neglect to mention this or gloss over it.
"We made a new Mustang. It's electric."
"Cool!!!"
"Oh, and it's an SUV."
"..."
It’s the soccer mom special.
yea. not a mustang.
Alex your fiesta st is one of the best hot hatches ever made so you may be a bit spoiled
the reason they did that with the front truck is that if it meets a certain volume, they need to place a safety release latch, they make the piece "removable" so you can take it out yourself, but can't come from the factory without it bc laws and stuff.
I would like to see more talk on the inside tech on new cars. The issue I feel a lot of car reviews miss is the usability of onboard UI & what features are baked in the car. It would be cool if you find a way to play DOOM in the mustang too.
it's an android I am relativly sure you could just put the doom.apk onto that 🤔
That’s because proper car reviews focus on it being a good car first (this is not one of them) as they should. Gadgetry and tech should always be considers second
@@thewelshdragon1567 this is NOT a review
“What is loads of storage in my opinion we don’t have boxes to chuck in” Alex confirmed as a Straight Piper???
Id absolutely love to see you guys do more techy car reviews but if I could suggest something. Id love it if you guys had more cameras set up in the car. Even if they are go-pros or you can see other cameras in frame. It would be great to see more angles / having more show than tell.
I think the new Polestar if you can get your hands on one would be a good fit to review
would be cool to see like an entire channel dedicated to car stuff from you guys
Big yes
You kept it honest and you seem knowledgeable about cars. So yeah I'm sold, let's see more techy car reviews please!
i'd say review more on the tech side of the car to differentiate it from the usual car reviews :)
"Is it a mustang? (...) It doesn't (...) like plow into crowds of people" lmao, this quote should be framed
That was a Challenger.
@@fixman88 This is a car joke. Mustangs have a tendency to run into crowds at car shows.
Alex,
Just a few pointers.
I love LMG's car videos!
I hope they will make a separate channel for car videos only :D
I subbed to Donut Media a couple months ago and they're great, idk if there's room for both though... They have a very similar style to LMG
@@zachattack3ee I find them totally different
Nice box test reference! Two of the best TH-cam channels.
I’m glad someone else noticed :)
(specifically the Mazda CX-5)
Definitely enjoying the car review and with some refinement I see a lot of promise.
The CX-5 is such a good car. I want to upgrade to the electric version when its out.
It's not a Mustang! It's a SUV. And cause it is a SUV it is ugly anyways so don't even bother looking at it. :)
@@MKL347 I think it's more considered a hatchback, but yeah its not really a mustang. I think it's cool looking, though. Different strokes for different folks I guess.
@@SirDragonClaw Bro. I didn't know about the electric. Thank you for telling me this.
The plastic look in the frunk is intentional, and has drain holes for water. You can chuck wet/muddy things into it without ruining nice interior. Also, the center divider is removable. If you want waterproof storage, you have the entire rest of the car.
I just can't wait to see them review some old panda or lada next april's fools. You'll do it, right?
Or one of those first gen lead acid battery electric cars.
"fords first full-electric vehicle"
*ford focus electric cries in a corner*
Absolutely loved it. More more more!!!
Bring on the Mercedes EQS!
i love how alex called it the "ford mach-e" in the beggining, you make me proud :')

I agree about the door handles (or lack of). That won't cut it where I live, where even real handles don't even allow you to open the door when ice get your door stuck...
When reviewing the autopilot, it would have been great if we saw the traffic in front of you. Maybe a dashcam would have worked.
Next LTT video "We made a 12k dashcam".
@Darren Wilson then we made it out of gold
I just now noticed how much of the inside is similar to the 2018 (MK8) Fiesta (ST).
Also cool to hear Alex drives a Fiesta ST :-)!
You guys should definitely use a camera to show the road, just so we get to see how it behaves with Lane Keep Assist.
Other than that, great video
With the passenger doors imagine if it was windy and the door opened and you went to grab it and the wind pushed the door shut and you got your finger's cut off.
If the wind can cut your fingers off like that, you may have other concerns, like the F3 Tornado near you...
Once you press that button to open the passenger doors, they can’t go back closed until opening them a little more manually so there is no chance the door can close on your fingers!
You should have definitely started with the “thiiiiis...” from DougDeMuro 🤣🤣🤣
Thoroughly enjoyed the video. Nice to see a wider variety of content from LMG.
For a small critique, I think I might have appreciated a little window in the corner with a forward facing dashcam to get a better feel the driving segment. Or at least for cutaways to show us what the presenter is commenting on. For example, at 10:20 the presenter likely defines "a touch scary" differently than me. It would be nice to have seen what happened to decide for myself. Or to better understand what it did at the following intersection.

@@EastDallasKicks I completely agree, the Excursion was a wonderful vehicle. A solid highway cruiser with excellent visibility all around and pretty comfortable for being on an F250 Super Duty platform. I've got a couple of friends whose wives would also agree that it's great for the under 5'7 crowd, seeing as one is 5' and the other is 5'3, both have Excursions, and both have less vis/comfort issues than in smaller cars. The Fiesta ST is a great car that feels very engaging where the car gives you a lot of sensation about what's going on with the gas and the transmission (the gear lever feels so connected), and it's one of the best cars for doing that, which is a very good point of comparison for other cars, specially for a car that costs a lot less than these cars
