Thor: Ragnarok is a 2017 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Thor, produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. Thor Ragnarok didn't hold up ? Really ? I thought Thor Ragnarok was trash when it was released and was given praise that wasn't deserved because it was full of cringy comedy.
Despite its heavy flaws this movie is pretty entertaining. After this(without including IW) marvel really went down hill.

Most MCU slop doesn’t hold up. The absolute vast majority of them. They all feel like factory films. Sure, they can be entertaining in the moment, but you go back and wonder “Why did I ever enjoy this sh!t?”
I remember enjoying the film in theaters, but as the years have gone by, it's gotten worse for me. Especially after reading Planet Hulk, this film sucks!
I can have fun with the movie until Valkyrie captures Thor. In other words, when it becomes a discount Planet Hulk, I'm out! lmfao

Yeah I never got all the ❤ this movie got. Some jokes go on too long. It is too long and has a very smug tone from start to finish.
Used to like this film back in 2018, and I can agree that seeing bits of this film now, yeah, it has not held up well.
I ain't gonna lie, when I saw Thor Ragnarok back in 2017 I thought it was pretty good. Back then I was still drinking that Marvel Kool aid. Looking at it now this movie is a complete joke, and not a funny one. They kill off all of Thor's friends and make it a joke. They kill off the REAL Valkyrie and replace her with that piece of wood Tessa Thompson. They have Scourge the Executioner but no Amora. And Hela and Thor are not siblings. I'm not even the biggest Thor fan but I get the lore better than that idiot Taika Whatiti. And of course because Marvel and Disney are shit when it comes to the rights of these characters, we can't even get a decent Hulk movie. Yeah, I kinda hate this movie now 😂. Asgardians of the Galaxy!

And out of this we got King Valkyrie and _Men in Black: International._ It makes me wonder if Chris Hemsworth likes belittling himself in movies like this.
The first Thor is still the best in my opinion and I really love the shakespearean family dynamic between Loki, Thor and Odin awesome review Matt.
That makes sense for the first Thor film seeing as the director Kenneth Branagh's background is in theater, particularly performing Shakespeare.

@@MrDman21I don’t think the Snyder movies are perfect, but at least I can go back and watch man of steel and feel like I’m getting something out of it. With the MCU, it ALWAYS feels like a waste of time.
@@MrDman21 I can't speak for everyone else, but for me, it is the fact that in nearly every MCU movie a serious moment or a dramatic scene that should be taken seriously in terms of the plot, characterization and story is almost always underscored and undercut by some poorly misplaced gag or joke. It ruins many of the moments that should be meant for character building or a moment of sincerity.
I am the same way with Guardians of The Galaxy 2. I remember really liking that movie the first time I watched it, because I loved the first Guardians of The Galaxy movie,but man, that movie does not hold up anymore for me after re watching. Thor Ragnorok I remember never really liking in comparison to the first Thor.
I watched this movie again a couple of years ago after seeing it in theaters, and it definitely doesn't hold up. Thor: Ragnarok is where Marvel started going downhill by adding the stupid jokes and over the top silliness scenes they have in their movies now. I also do like this better than Love & Thunder and The Dark World, but this movie is overrated in my opinion and doesn't hold up all these years later.

I'm mad that I liked this movie at one point. This movie is a pile of Groot shit.
Yet another movie where Hulk gets sidelined in his own story. The non-stop humor didn't work, either. I would have much preferred Hulk sequels (with Edward Norton) that explored Mr. Fixit and the Leader and culminated in _Planet Hulk._ This movie was just filler for _Endgame_ that happened to feature Thor and Hulk.
Marvel and Disney are shit with Marvel IP. That's why we couldn't get a Planet Hulk movie. They just mismash it with this crap.

I Love Sleepless, John Wick 2, The Great Wall, Logan, Kong: Skull Island, The Belko Experiment, Life 2017, Fast & Furious 8, Once Upon A Time In Venice, Baby Driver, War For The Planet Of The Apes, The Dark Tower, Kidnap, The Hitman’s Bodyguard, It 2017, Kingsman 2, Stronger, Blade Runner 2, Brawl, Geostorm, Suburbicon, Thor 3, & The Last Flag Flying are my Favorites & Bests Of 2017 IMO

I Prefer The Captain America Trilogy, Iron Man Trilogy, Fantastic 4 2005 & 2007, Ghost Rider Films, & Deadpool Trilogy are Way Better Marvel Franchises then The Thor Franchise, cause Although I Love Thor 1 & 3 there my Favorites in the franchise, Thor 4 can Enjoy as a Timewaster cause of the Action, but its still a Mediocre & Flawed, Film IMO, & I don't like Thor 2 cause its a Boring Ass Forgettable Film IMO, & the Franchises I Named are Better Written & don't have any Bad Sequels IMO & have Less Flaws Too
I honestly watched some of the Marvel Movies just for the eventual showdown with Thanos, looking back, I don’t seem to care to follow up with many of them
What kills me about the marvel movies is the forced comedy. The first thor was perfect like what happened? Especially quantamania. The acting the comedy just suck...
Never liked MCU except Guardians of the Galaxy. The rest is made for the children to consume.

Great Job Matt, I Love Thor 1 & 3, there my Favorites in the Franchise, Great Action, Well Directed, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, Karl Urban, & Natalie Portman do a Good Job in those Films, I Like Thor 4 its an Ok Time Waster For Me, I Enjoyed the Action Scenes, Chris Hemsworth & Natalie Portman did a Good Job IMO, but Thor 4 is a Flawed Movie, Christian Bale was Fine, but his Villain was Lame IMO, I thought A Lot the Humor was Dumb & Overused, which was More Annoying & Unfunny, I didn't like they show Chris Hemsworth Ass, & Supporting Characters were Lame Too, thats why its my Least favorite, I don't like Thor 2 its a Boring Ass Forgettable Film, Even though I Love Thor 3, it could've have had Less Comedy, it was Fine. but Overused IMO, I didn't understand why Anthony Hopkins Odin was Dying, Tessa Thompson Sucked in the movie & her Character Sucked, Mark Ruffalo was the Worst Hulk & he Always Sucked as Hulk, & he's a Shitty Actor, but he was Fine in Collateral & Windtalkers though, but he's a Piece of Shit in Real Life, I didn't need to see his Ass in Thor 3 Too, but I Still Love Thor 3 though, cause of the Action Scenes, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Karl Urban, Jeff Goldblum, & Cate Blanchett did a Great Job Too

I had the same experience with Die hard 4. I used to enjoy it when I got into the franchise years ago, rewatched the first 4 a few months ago, and it really hasn't aged well. It's got more in common with the later fast and furious movies than it does with Die hard. It's not even the PG-13 rating( I know about the unrated cut),It's so over the top and ridiculous that it completely misses the appeal of the franchise in the first place. The FBI characters were forgettable, there was barely any memorable dialogue, the villain is absolute trash, Bruce and Justin Long have a decent chemistry but that's about it.
I know it's got a cult following,I know you Matt love it, but to me it's only better than 5, which is not a huge accomplishment.

I still think this is the LAST great mcu film. Like literally the last because immediatly after this was Infinity War and Captain Marvel, which are some of the worst. But i really like this one still, and still rewatch it
