    I love the fact it comes with a cap!

      Hi Nick, it is a cool desing in that way, you can put the cap while it is hot and will protect it from burning something... even myself 😁 thanks for watching!

    Honestly? Its a great soldering iron, i've been using it everyday for almost two years, no big problems. I'm using it with a cheap 65w usbc charger with a long and thin cord that was made for notebooks, it helps alot with the handling. The only problem i've found is that sometimes the tips are not recognized by the iron and i have to remove it and insert it again. But overall is a great purchase.

      Hi, I had that problem with other soldering irons also and I agree with you, is a great soldering iron for the price. Thanks for watching.

    Thanks for the review Hugo. Another great video with lots of information and details. I think the soldering iron coming with the burn proof silicone usb cable was a great addition.

    Just found this video, thinking about if I should buy the HS-01, the Pinecil v2 or the TS101.

    • @TechCornerTV
      @TechCornerTV  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi! I have a review of TS101 also, it's more complete and with the last update also goes to PD 96W I believe, but is more expensive and if you don't need such a robust tools, this one is also fine. My work here is to show what it does and let you guys decide! Either way, you can always support the channel if you choose to buy with the affiliate links 😁 thanks for watching!

    Hello Hugo, is there any updates about the Hantek DS02D10? Im pretty interested on buying one, but I dont want to buy a headache. Does the latest firmware correct the Issues? (Specially the bad readings on low voltages).
    Please letme know ASAP. Regards!

      Hey Julio, sorry not yet, it is on my todo list, but I have to give priority to the manufacturers that send devices for review free of charge and I still have here four to review and those videos are getting posponed... sorry! I have a job and do this at night and weekends, is not easy! If I could sustent myself from the channel it will be different, but barelly pays the expenses (most of the time don't) so I do this because I like and I have to manage it all in the free time, but I will try to schedulle it for the following weeks. Thanks so much for being here and for this comment!

    What iron does melt the solder in 2 seconds?

      Hi Nick, my Aixun T3S soldering station does that, is so amazing. I have a video also on that one. Thanks for watching.

    Works with t12 soldering tip?

    • @TechCornerTV
      @TechCornerTV  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, never tested but they say they are "proprietary". But I think it will work, it seems the same tips that are used on other similiar devices. Thanks for watching.

    hi, are this soldering iron compatible with hakko t12 tip?

    • @TechCornerTV
      @TechCornerTV  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello, yes, I think it is. Thanks for watching.

  • @mrpetit2
    @mrpetit2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    So are these soldering tips following any kind of standard?
    They look like Hakko tips, only way shorter, so not compatible.
    And I think that is important. I mean, I don't expect fnirsi to make this product in 5 or 10 years anymore, so probably no tips by then.
    The TS-100 of course also has this problem, but there are so many TS-100's made and around (and there is a 2nd version now), that it almost looks like it has become it's own standard, because also the pinecil uses these tips, and there are I think 3rd party manufacturers too.
    And in the end that is what partly defines a good tool. How long is it supported. I mean, you can still get tips for a 50 year old Weller. (hakko, weller, pace, jcb.. they've been around for ages)
    But with the oled display, how long is this tool gonna last. It's a frequent repair on the TS-100s 😉

      Hi, I don't have a T12 soldering station (yet) to compare, so I'm not familias with the T12 tips. What I can say is that the TS100/TS101 will not fit in this soldering iron. I have also here to test the GDVA and I think that it uses similiar tips, let's see if they're also compatible with this one or the TS100/TS101. Thanks for watching!

    Seems the soldering tips are similar to hakko.

    This soldering iron does not work if a USB A to USB C cable is used, no matter which charger is used. It only works on a USB C to USB C cable. For me, that's a big minus.

    • @TechCornerTV
      @TechCornerTV  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, after reading your comment I went to see if it was true, the problem I had was finding a 65W USB-A to USB-C cable here at home, I don't have any, so can't confirm. With my normal cables, it says that has low power, but again, it needs a better cable... maybe you're right. Thanks for sharing and watching!

    • @ognjen5230
      @ognjen5230 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TechCornerTV Try connecting the FNB58 via USB C cable and then the soldering iron to USB A. It should have the same result as connecting to different chargers, i.e. USB outputs.

    • @gustavofelisberto4259
      @gustavofelisberto4259 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      According to spec a USB-A of type 3.1 has max power output of 15 watts. So not enough for this device.

    • @ognjen5230
      @ognjen5230 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gustavofelisberto4259 Fnirsi states that a minimum of 13.5W is required for the operation of the soldering iron. I have a quick charge 3.0 18W USB A charger (5V/9V12V), to which I connect the FNB58, turn on the trigger 12V/1.5A or 9V/2A and then the soldering iron works via the USB A port.
      If I plug the soldering iron directly into the USB A port, it gives me a low voltage warning. The problem is not that it doesn't work on the USB A port, but that the manufacturer didn't say that it only works with USB C to USB C.
