OMG!! I love Melinda!! How fun and adorable and just the perfect person to live there in TV!! She’s a hoot !! Thank you Christine! Please do more of these fabulous interviews!!!😊
Great show! I am really enjoying the Ask the Villager episodes. We just purchased a home in Dabney and look forward to our move shortly. We will be “frogs” also and hope to see you ladies around Sawgrass soon!
I agree that Orlando Airport is a real mess trying to find parking, that is why I fly out of Tampa as much as I can and it is maybe 15 minutes longer but the drive on 75 is way better than the turnpike. Tampa airport is so much nicer and there is always long term parking available!
Really like these episodes! Are there younger 55+ who have kids in college, still working, and the kids come to visit during breaks? Also would love an episode on renting vs buying since we still may want to keep our home up north while kids are in college. We are tired of cold but worried about kids after college plans!😩
Yes, there are so many of us in that transitional period with kids. It would make an interesting show. In my case, my kids were young adults but as parents we always want to be a safe spot they can return to. In my case, that Never goes away.
I like the rapid fire approach. Would also like to see you interview someone who has been there 5 years or longer (not in the honeymoon stage). Thanks!
Great interview, Tina. Fun getting a newbie’s assessment. Hope you revisit in 6 mos to 1 year to see how Melinda’s views might have changed. 1. Enrichment Academy. Can you provide more information? 2. Villager’s Grown? More info, please. I don’t live in The Villages yet. I’m exploring 55+ communities for future downsizing. Thank you.
Hi JozieLeePro! This is actually Christine in this video, not my wonderful partner Tina. I will put information on the Enrichment Academy and The Villages grown in the Description section of this video!
Please pardon the name confusion, Christine. I’m new to your channel. I’ve got it right now. And thank you for the information. I wondered how the community garden produce was distributed. Love the website. And the link to the Learning Academy’s calendar clarified that some activities carry a nominal fee. I’m totally enjoying your content, ladies.
@@JozieLeePro No worries about the name mix up! The Learning Academy activities will carry a nominal fee. The social clubs, the activities/classes at the Recreation Centers, etc, are by and large, all free. I will put a link to the calendar in the description page as well !
Ok help me out here! In the Villages rec and parks insert from the Daily Sun, Silver Lake Rec center is listed as having tennis, meeting and billards. No mention of a pool or a hot tub, so I looked at it from above on google earth, and I don't see it! What am I missing here? 🤔
Snowflake: People who go back and forth from their other home to TV at different times of the year. Frog: Live here until they croak. Snowbird: Live in TV during most months, but go back to old home for the summers.
❤
thanks for watching Lori!
