Completely agreed, Eric. Seems like the quality of their reviews are eroding. Also, I’d like to hear what that rider thinks of the bike - seems like he knows what he’s doing
Anything ibis does is spot on...ill never give up my hd3...it fits the rocky root filled trails I ride perfect..and as far as 27.5 goes it was never gone..and in my area..guys that went 29 are getting their 27.5 bikes back..
I love how every 27.5 bible review from three years ago was “we wish this bike came in a 29” and now they’re all “wow this 27.5 bike is better than I expected”. Maybe your expectations are wrong guys.
Completely agree that a short travel, modern Geo, modern wider rims has a place for many recreational mountain bikers. Personally I use i35 rims for my 2.6" tires, it's a great set up!
Why is there still such a stigma with you guys towards 27.5 wheels? It's almost like you're afraid to confess how fun they can be. I'm glad you kind of admitted that in this video. Anyway, I love my Mojo 3 and can't wait to demo the M4. Looks fantastic.
Yeah it's ridiculous, I'll never buy another 29er. They are lame as shit, and I'm so glad I went with a 27.5 party bike despite what the major outlets are trying to shove down your throat
@@fordio1979 Literally all bike media like bike mag are shoving 29ers down everyones throat and talkin shit about 27.5s, every single one of them. All sorts of snide comments on 27.5 in loads of reviews by these guys. Most people are sheep alex, so i could agree. I too once had a 29er Trek fuel
I rode with Scot Nichol and his pals, Snap, Major Tom, etc.. around Sebastopol & Freestone back when Mag 20s were a new thing and he and most of the guys rode the phat Ritchey 2.35" on 26", 25mm rims and we loved it.

My Brother-in-law, "Help me out, I want a new full suspension mountain bike but I want it to handle and feel like my Bridgestone MB-1, which one should I get?" What would *YOU* advise?
Does someone know whether they fixed the upper shock bolt nut issues. I had 3 ibis frames in the shop this year with rotating nuts in the frame. There was no way you could remove the shock from the frame. You have to drill the nut out of the frame and glue a new one back in. When I talked to the guys at ibis it seemed like this is an issue that happens on a lot of frames they were very helpful though and promised to send a new front triangle if the removal had failed. Luckily I have steady hands 🦾
Had the same happen on one of my Ibis's. Had them replace the threaded insert on warranty. Turn around was within 7 days (to/from bike shop). So even though its wasn't good that it happened, the fix was quick. That has been my experience with anything from Ibis. Always a courteous, fast response. I asked them what size the yoke bushing o-rings are because i found one damaged during a winter rebuild. Now i have a lifetime supply because the insisted on sending me replacements.
Wish you guys didn't automatically think 27.5" bikes were shit. Please be a little more open minded and less biased. We don't come here for biased reviews, but rather for a good thorough review on new bikes.
@@oreoswithasideofmilk9703 I'd agree that the marketing is pushing people to 29 - which is too bad - I've gone back and forth between the 2 wheel sizes and I'm going to stick with 27.5 as long as I can. 29ers are fine, but 27.5 just feels better to me (YMMV)
@@T-ROF I agree, its all about marketing, and what the companies want to have in their warehouse. Two wheel sizes probably take up too much space so they rather push one size.
@@oreoswithasideofmilk9703 I've seen countless polls in magazines, Twitter, Facebook, and others, and 27.5 is far and away the preferred size. I do agree that we are all riding, but I shouldn't be forced into riding something I don't like.
I have an M4. I had a V1 Ripmo before that. IMHO, they're both fun bikes, but Ripmo needs to be going a little faster to get full benefits and fun factor. M4 is fun at any speed, even slow. But it is more than just a fun "play bike". It's light (2lbs lighter than my Ripmo) but rides BIG and is incredibly fast, stable, and inspires confidence even in big chunk and chatter. I didn't really notice a change in wheels size and any preconceived notions of 27.5 vs. 29er quickly evaporated. I see no real reason to get a Ripmo/Ripley over an M4 or vise versa. All incredible bikes. Just depends on your riding style.
I'm very loyal to Ibis; I owned a Ripley and now own a V1 Ripmo. I'm very curious about the Mojo 4, sounds like an amazing bike. On a different subject, my eyes blew up when they said $5500 is a good value? As much as I love these bikes they seem to be getting more and more $$$$ every year!
It is!! Considering Factory suspension alone is almost at $1700. SLX is great, Carbon Frame. Wide rims. While it is not a bargain, it is truly a great value for what it stands!

This bike is everything the Stumpjumper is not... if Spesh would adopt this geo on the Stumpy it would be unrivaled. Instead, they design the Stumpy with a slack as F... STA...and ultra conservative reach... thus the climbing sucks SHIT BALLS!!
@@MrMuggsly Consider it an onomatopoeia of sorts. Now, just take your bike, do some silly stuff, until you hear a shralpy sound - and thats your answer :)
please stop with the big tires suck business. This ain'ta fatbike. 2.4 to 2.6 is 0.1" per side - that makes very little difference in vagueness, tire rolling or whatever. Add a few more PSI and any of that goes away. Bigger tires hold the line through rougher, rockier terrain better as well
I always appreciate your reviews, but do enjoy seeing a little more riding during the discussion.

Absolutely, there should be riding the whole time, like MTB Yumyum used to do, *'ride & review'* is what the general riding public seem to prefer.

It's because they are wrong. They are in the business of following trends and the newest shiniest product on the market.
Yes, noticed this too. The review for the 5010 was even worse. Saying that they were dreading getting on a 27.5 bike! I mean WTF.
People can be wrong. Seeing them change their minds is better than hearing them stick to what they previously believed. Why attack like this?
Why the FAT don't we have 36"!?!? Imagine the roll-over! 🙄

Chinese MTB equation: New bike price (NBP) - old bike price (OBP) = Want bike price (WBP). If WBP is greater than .01, you need it.
