2 years late here, but what an incredible segment. Love love love this video! Thank you for the recd and thank you for showing ‘Stir of Echoes’ some love. Definitely an underrated film that deserves more recognition.
i feel like we all have a story about being scared of 13 ghosts when we were younger which i find funny. my grandma had the vhs tape and the case art freaked me out sooo much!
This list is 🔥🔥🔥 Stir of Echoes is so underrated-glad to hear you talk about it, not many do and that movie is so good. I rewatch it every year during poorly season. And House of the Devil was a recent watch for me and I was like why did it take me so long to watch it! I freakin loved it
Several of my favorites were on your list. If I had to choose an absolute favorite from the list, it would be The Changeling. One of my favorites I didn't see on the list is The Uninvited (1944).
Awesome list! The Orphanage is great but sooo sad, and Stir of Echoes and The Sentinel are really underrated. Check out Ghost Story from 1981 if you haven't, it's really spooky!
I’m so excited for this video!! I’m glad you talked about Hellhouse LLC! I love that one and I feel like it’s pretty underrated. I need to rewatch Lake Mungo cuz I remember it being so disturbing at the end!
I'm late to the party but awesome list. My new co-worker loves horror so this will give ua a lot to watch then discuss during downtimes in the office. Also, back in the 80s there was a TV movie that scared the you know what out of me called "This House Possessed". I think it's floating around YT somewhere. Wasn't a bad watch for primetime.
I don't like reading about haunted houses but I do love a good haunted house movie. Definitely checking out some of these that I haven't already. Great recs!
Haunted house is my favorite subgenre for books and films and this is a great list. Some I would add include: 1408 (haunted hotel room, I know), A Tale of Two Sisters, The Dark and the Wicked, The Witch in the Window, I Am the Pretty Thing that Lives in the House, and The Innkeepers. Lake Mungo terrifies me, The Orphanage is one of the saddest movies I've seen, and What Lies Beneath is a comfort movie for me. Is that weird 😂?
Def not weird - I have unusual comfort movies too 😂 And I still need to see 1408, The Witch in the Window, and Pretty Thing…I loooved Tale or Two Sisters! And I only didn’t include Innkeepers because it technically wasn’t a house, but I love that one too! So many good ones!!
Same ith What Lies Beneath lol. I just recently watched I am the Pretty Thing that Lives in the House and I loved that. So creepy and fun fact, Anthony Hopkins' son(played Norman Bates), Oz Perkins ,wrote and directed that film.
Super-great spooky haunted house list. I can't think of any I'd add, but some of these are must-watch movies for me every year. Like House. I remember watching that as a kid in the 80's.
@@mandysmorgueofhorror yes it is not to be watched when you are in some negative space of mind cuz it clearly will deteriorate that But Ohmygod the vibes and the entire feel of the movie is just wow ! I cant believe its not getting hyped up as it shud! I am literally finding people to suggest it to and making them WATCH it haha! 😂
Hi Mandy:) OMG I was screaming at my screen like The Others!!!! The Others!!!! Lol. JK but seriously The Others is one of my top movies ever made and House of the Devil and Stir of Echoes also make my best movies ever made list. I love these 3 so much. I am adding a few from this list and haven't seen most of the same ones you mentioned you hadn't seen yet to my Halloween 2022 list. 😉
This is a great list (though I would argue that Oculus is a haunted object movie). I love that you have a couple of Richard Matheson movies on here; I'm actually planning on reading Stir of Echoes for the first time soon (I've seen the movie at least a dozen times). You've convinced me to watch He'll House LLC.
I was on the fence about Oculus because you’re right - but it’s set in a house so I was like ok that’s close enough 😂 I need to read Stir of Echoes, and Matheson in general.
Host, host? HOST!! Scarier than Sinister? Who are these people that think that? Host was fun to watch but not really that scary. Bar none Sinister Will hold the top spot, Jeepers Cteepers is a strong number 2.
Great list Mandy! I'm not sure if you've seen this one from the early 90s but it was a made for TV movie about the Smurl haunting. The Warrens make an appearance in this one. I have a strong feeling this is one you'll appreciate: th-cam.com/video/9BaF-YgmBNk/w-d-xo.html
"A little ghost action while I'm having my morning coffee" - Amanda. What a quote. Yes, I agree haha - LOVE IT :)
It’s the dream 😂

Petition to start a kickstarter or funding programme for Mandy’s horror b&b/Conjuring house dreams! 😂
House! Yessss! I thought I was the only one that ever saw it 😂
Great video!😀

I’ve had Ghost Story on my tbr forever and didn’t realize it was made into a film. I’ll have to check it out!

The changeling, based on the director's real life.
The haunting of Julia was a book also , find it.
You definitely need to watch The Dark and the Wicked. I watched it recently and I am blown away !
I tried watching that but was in a bad mental state at the time. I need to give it another try because I’ve heard great things!

The Haunting is my #1 favorite horror movie of all time. 1999 version was awful in comparison. The book is also beautiful.
Keep it going gorgeous!! I love the content!!🙌🙌🔥🔥
insidious, for me, is better than the conjuring.
but some of that is due to leigh whannell's script and his performance as specs.
Hi there. It’d be great if you wrote out the list in the description for reference (?) thanks for compiling the list.
Sure! I will try to get to that soon. Thanks!
Where are from in mass? Salem lol
The entity
The pact really messed me up.
