You covered most of my must-watch Halloween movies (Halloween, Hell House LLC, and House of the Devil especially). After October, I'd love a list of cold weather/winter (not Christmas) horror. Don't Look Now comes to mind with its dreary November-ish setting. Also The Lodge, Ghost Story, The Shining, The Thing. Winter is an underrated season for horror. A book recommendation list would also be welcome!
I feel like all the paranormal activity movies are perfect to watch when it starts getting colder because they feel like movies you should just curl up under a blanket and watch
I wanted to say that this is the best and most comprehensive Halloween/October movie watchlist that I have seen. It is very thorough and I admire the cross-decade breadth of it. I enjoy re-watching it around October. Really well done :)
Mandy! I love that you mentioned Night of the Demons. I love that one so much and I don’t feel it ever gets enough love. Linnea Quigley is one of my horror heroes and it’s just a fun movie. Halloween 4 is one of my favorites as well. It actually has that autumnal Halloween feel and it’s great. So many of my favorites are on this list. Thank you for putting it together. 🖤
Halloween 3.. the Howling part 2: your sisters a werewolf. Satan's little helper. The houses October built pt 1... Return of the living dead. Original nightmare on ekm Street.. Are a few of my favorite Halloween movies
1. Nightmare on Elm Street 3 2. Child's’ Play 3 3. Poltergeist 4. The Thing 5. Scream 6. Aliens 7. Jeepers Creepers 8. Cloverfield 9. Evil Dead (Remake) 10. Dawn of the Dead (Remake) 11. Fright Night 12. Lost Boys 13. Underworld 14. The Exorcist 15. Thirteen Ghosts 16. Gremlins 17. Cabin in the Woods 18. Ready or Not 19. The Mist 20. Trick R Treat 21. Stir of Echoes 22. trick r treat is a part of the halloween anthology series that carpenter tried turning the halloween franchise into. it features more of the lore and traditions of the season with a different twist than season of the witch. excellent film.
Love your list! Some of my recommendations would be Murder Party, John Carpenter's Body Bags, The Others, Tales From The Dark Side, I'm a sucker for Halloween H2O, Creepshow, The Lost Boys, Are you Afraid Of The Dark, Night of the Living Dead 1990, Pet Sematary 1989.
I’m planning to watch: Halloween, Night of the Living Dead, Child’s Play, The Exorcist, Cloverfield, Friday the 13th, The Amityville Horror, Nightmare on Elm Street, The People Under the Stairs, Rosemary’s Baby, Hellraiser, Candyman, and Tales from the Crypt; just to name a few
Dark Night of the Scarecrow is outstanding. It has a rustic, Harvest Season ambience, and actually takes place around Halloween. It mixes the supernatural with heinous human evil, and the result is unforgettable.
Such a great list! You have so many of my favorites on here. I just watched Halloween 4 the other night and it was good cheesy fun. Also I got so excited when you mentioned Hell House LLC cause I just discovered that movie last Halloween and it is scare-y. Will be rewatching it this year. And we also had on Halloweentown last night. I just love this time of the year! 🎃 Enjoy all your movies! 🍿
Halloween 3 season of the witch could be retreated a little and be a great new horror movie. The masks shudve controlled the kids, also could fit the Myers mask in as a normal generic mask.
Demon Knight, Sinister, Nightmare on Elm Street, any of them and Friday the 13th any of them. An American Wearwolf in London, Rocky Horror Picture Show, It-new or old ones. Re-Animater, the Frightners, ect. Glad you did say the Changeling and He'll Fest. But nothing from Incideous, Saw, or the Congering universe. There really is to many great onse to watch.
Fright Night 👏🏽🔥🔥. I love the original and oddly enough I love the sequel too-your list is basically what I watch each year. But I do need to check out the Changeling. Also loved the Sentinel-I own the DVD!!
i love the scene in fright night where the kid asks roddy mcdowall's character for help, because of roddy's reactions and how he just tries his hardest to get away.
That was a really cool intro the Halloween franchise is always been on my list 4 is the one I also watched more. I love trick or treat it became one of my favorite horror movies that werewolf scene was amazing and I just fell in love with Sam. I autopsy and Jane Doe I loved I'm always watching it with someone who hasn't. I like that you added the universal monsters I grew watching those as a kid those were my gateway to horror. Always like your recommendations more movies to add to the list.
Hey just checked out your videos on vintage horror books and horror films well done from fellow horror fan Did you ever seen Jodie foster and Martin sheen in little girl who lives down the lane . Old school very creepy vibes
The original House of Wax is from the '50s. If you haven't seen it, definitely check it out! I would also add some of the Nightmare on Elm Streets in the list. Otherwise, I really loved how you included both classic and new movies here! 🧟👻🎃
@@austindolan7182 Ah yes! The original is from the '30s, you're right! I haven't seen the new one, but the older ones I think are pretty good if you're into the older horror movies. 🎃
Since you love Ginger Snaps i love to recommend Ginger Snaps 2 which is HIGHLY UNDERRATED and maybe the best one in my opinion. A MUST WATCH! There's also part 3 which is a prequal which is ok and same cast. They were actually filmed back to back.
Wow most of these movies i either have the shout factory blu rays of or have upgraded to 4k recently . I have to say i always have Dracula the 1994 version and tales from the crypt demon night also you gotta have from dusk till dawn and ed wood on there .
So happy to see Deadly Friend represented!!! That is my go-to Halloween watch. The little robot 😢 and some of the kills and stunts… my God 🤣🤣. It’s finally coming out bluray tomorrow!!! Pumpkinhead is not a pumpkin, but pumpkin enough, I’d say! AND YES! 1999 House on Haunted Hill is so underrated. Such a nostalgic watch for me. Another Halloween favorite for me is Uninvited (1987), strictly after a few beers. 🤣
Thank you so much for not bleeping out swear words. There is a girl who has a video on here talking horror movies who swears all the time and everytime she does it makes a really loud and annoying beep noise. Which makes her video impossible to watch because it is so annoying.
I love religious Horror too! Why dont they make more? I mean, The Conjuring is one of the best Horror Universes. I am an Author, and when I rise up, I hope my religious horror books become movies. Good movies, not bad ones.

There is a small piece of Halloween in The Exorcist. When the mother is walking home early in the movie she passes a group of trick or treaters. I never noticed it until getting the bluray

Dark night of the scarecrow was one of the best horror movies. Another all-time favorite Halloween classic is Elvira Mistress of the Dark
